Eric Lyons also stock home-made pickles, chutneys, and the more unusual Madhuban Honey Garden (the perfect brand name for Indian influenced cuisine made in rural England), fresh and hand-made curry sauces. On the drive over here I was discussing with my driver my considering being a vegan. All that is in doubt now that I am positioned over the meat cabinet on the other side of the shop. It's filled with traditional chops and steaks, and some more unusual products. Turkey Balti sausages are another example of Indian meets English, and while I wont' be buying them in the warmth of late May, they are a top contender for Boxing Day supper. We leave with two chilli burgers and two minted lamb burgers, for an early evening barbeque, but I'll return for a proper mission here later this year and I'll be sure to have plenty of room in the freezer.

They are knowledgeable about their products, and can recommend cuts of meat suitable for what you are planning to do, and even what to do with a piece of meat to make a great meal. Yes the products do tend to cost a little more than you could pay in a supermarket, but you can get exactly the cut of meat that you want and get them to trim off any fat or anything on it. If you are wanting a really great cut of meat to make a special meal, or just a really nice sausage to go with some mash then you cannot go wrong by visiting here.

As supermarkets go, it's pretty small,…read moreand you can't guarantee exactly what they will have in stock, so it is better as a place to wander around and see what you fancy than somewhere to set out with a shopping list. That said, they do have a good range of things, most of which are brands we don't usually see in this country. What they sell can be incredibly cheap, last time I got an avocado for 17p and and a mango for 20p, and they were both tasty enough and kept fine. One downside to this place is that the car park is small and there have been queues to get in. Also, they don't seem to have the trolleys that you can put your baby car seat in, so it's not quite as easy as some other supermarkets. But worth stopping by for a few cheap goodies.
