At the other end of the room is a sitting area in front of large sliding glass doors that lead out to a patio over-looking the lake. A few steps below is the dock for lounging and swimming, plus a double kayak for your use. Everything about our stay was exceptional. I highly recommend this stunning place with the most charming hosts. How often can you say that you've stayed at the home of a great Canadian landscape artist? What could be more perfect after a day at the most amazing spa in the world and a cozy Italian dinner than a perfect bed and breakfast experience? Not much if you ask me.... Where to begin? The home is picture perfect and nestled in the woods surrounded by leaves upon glorious leaves. An inviting front porch appropriately decorated for the season and a backyard filled with hues of yellow and a hot tub! Perfection! The room was lovely. Immaculate and cozy. The most comfortable bed complete with crisp white linens and super plush pillows. Their signature feather (plume is feather in French) was found creatively dispersed in the details including a throw pillow and on the door to each room. I loved every thought out detail such as the maple leaves as a nod to Canada. We took advantage of the oversized tub and lovely smelling bath accessories. We loved the playful addition of the rubber duckies! The robes were perfectly folded and a treat to put on after our relaxing bath as we cozied up. The room has a CD player, DVD player and and a small flatscreen with satellite. We had a fantastic nights sleep in this space. The house was super cozy as well and filled with local artist as well as the owner's own artwork. All were of gorgeous local scenes. Amazing! They are all for sale also! The food was unreal! We were graciously handed a menu to fill out before bedtime with a place to select a time we would like to enjoy our meal. I was a tad confused as there were so many options. You each choose one from each category. So much food and it all sounded incredible! It absolutely was! The hosts take pride in their culinary skills and it surely shows. Each dish was created, plated and garnished with the upmost care. They also have a hydroponic garden in the basement so your meal is garden fresh. The menu was very creative, but didn't stray from the local surroundings. They will certainly cater to your dietary needs. The night before our stay was Canadian Thanksgiving and we were invited to join in for a full dinner. They even went out of their way to make me veg friendly plates! The hosts couldn't have been friendlier, kinder and more knowledgeable of the area. It was an absolute perfect night and up there with our favorite bed & breakfast experiences. I contemplated posting photos of the delightful interior of the Gingerbread Manor, but in doing so, I would simply be ruining the surprise for the handful of people who might stumble upon this review. We booked a room with a private bath (de Maisonneuve) which was equipped with all the amenities one needs. The bed was comfortable to the point where it was hard to simply get out it each morning during the days we were there. Every morning, we were served breakfast by Ephraim. Each meal was complemented by a parfait starter and mini-desserts. It must be said that the coffee was excellent. But besides the quality of the food, the experience would not be the same without Yves and Ephraim. While we were out and about every day, we didn't have much of a chance to see Yves. Yves was the first to greet us upon arrival to make us feel at home. We spent most of our days chatting with Ephraim, who was a terrific host that I would liken to be a "walking Wikipedia" for everything Montreal. Our morning conversations were long and engaging covering topics from culinary arts and political science to music and technology. His restaurant recommendations were refreshingly honest and we never made a bad choice. He has my heartfelt gratitude for the introduction to the heart-attack inducing Canadian dish of poutine! The lovely Gingerbread Manor is a five-star experience. The hosts run a first-class operation, which is reflected in their personality and ability to make their guests feel right at home. I have no need to try any other B&B or any hotel the next time I return to Montreal. I might not even go back to Montreal if a room at Gingerbread Manor is not available.

My wife and I and two friends stayed at this inn on the second night of a bicycle tour along the…read moreP'tit Train du Nord linear park from Mont-Laurier, Quebec to St-Jerome, Quebec. Our stay was part of a tour package booked through Cyclo-Gites Voyageurs B&B (this inn). We arrived in the middle of the afternoon after riding about 59 kM from Nominique. The inn is just off the bike path, almost within sight, and we had no trouble finding it. My French is very poor, but we had no trouble communicating with Linda, and Jean-Claude speaks very good English. There was a securely locked shed in which to store our bicycling gear. Our room, was spacious and comfortable with queen-sized bed and was very clean. There was an a/c unit, which was appreciated, as it was a warm day, by Quebec standards. Dinner was included in the tour package, but not served at the inn. We were issued a coupon for dinner at Vieux Four, an Italian restaurant about 1.6 kM/1 mile away in St-Jovite. We chose to walk there, which may have been a mistake after biking most of the day. The food at Vieux Four was very good, but perhaps not great. But we sat outside on a nice evening and enjoyed ourselves, and then took a taxi back to the inn. Breakfast was served at the inn and was sumptuous and filling, with frittata, croissants, fresh fruit, etc. I will definitely try to stay at L'Auberg Le Voyageur again the next time I ride this bike tour.
