We opted to share la menu végétarien, and for 15 €, it was almost enough to satisfy! We had to order a second helping of falafel al a carte (includes 5 extra falafel balls) which was then enough for us to feel oh so good. The fixed menu includes hommos, baba ganoush, tabouli, samboussik jebne (which is like a little samosa with cheese inside), fatayer (another samosa type with spinach inside), rakakat jebne (melted cheese inside Lebanese bread), falafel, and mjadara (potatoes and lentils). There was also a rice dish listed, but we didn't get that. You also get an ample side of pita bread! It's a lot of food and it's all perfectly prepared. At the end of the meal they brought us a couple sweet desserts, one corn based doused in honey, and the other a cream-pistachio topped sweet bread. And! A delicious serving of Moroccan mint tea. This was my favorite meal in Marseille, hands down. If it only were closer to where we stayed, we would've returned for another delicious meal. Don't miss out on this place!

The hummus is flavorful, and richly dressed with good olive oil; the owner didn't skimp on the pita bread, which was quite fresh. The tabouleh was tasty, but bulked up on a bed of forgettable lettuce. Sajna stocks the Lebanese beer Almarza (for a long time the only Lebanese beer); a delightful pilsner, probably the best Mediterranean beer I've tried. The takeaway carries over a little to the dine-in service --- we got wooden chairs with sequined pillows, but the food came on plastic trays with disposable silverware. Didn't affect the flavor at all, but perhaps not the most impressive place for a date. Didn't get a chance to try the pumpkin kibbeh; sounds interesting. Next time!

The store owner informed us that he was catering a wedding that day and would only sell us the food he had made for the wedding (there may have been something lost in translation). The food he gave us was delicious, but we would have loved to be able to explore the options. Vegetarians and vegans should consider this place if they are hungry.
