Excellent shop with great service and they were friendly to an American who speaks very little…read moreFrench. I bought a few things not available in the states and was pleased to also see some of their own proprietary creations. This is a very well-kept shop with display cases you can actually walk up to as opposed to most magic shops I've known, where everything is usually on shelves behind the counter. I didn't spend a great deal of time there, but noticed that a few local magicians were hanging out and talking what else, but magic. It's so great to visit and support a brick and mortar shop. I'm told that "Magic Dream" has been around for 17 years and i wish them many, many more! Merci, Magic Dream, pour une super visite.

Matière Première is one of the places that I am compelled to visit at every return to Paris…read more Matière Première is the reason I started beading in the first place. I first found these gorgeous blue glass beaded matching necklace and bracelets at the Matière Première counter at BHV store. But they do have their own location. The Marais store is so easy to get to from the St Paul Metro stop, and the location allows you to take a break in a nearby cafe, only to go back to Matière Première for more. They have such beautifully designed beads and the selection is HUGE. No exaggeration. Stop in and make sure you have time; you'll need it to peruse everything there. If you're not the crafty type or just want to get something already pret-a-porter, Matière Première has already made jewelry pieces available for reasonable prices. I love looking at the necklaces, earrings, brooches, etc for inspiration for my own designs. I so love Matière Première!
