Due to Yelp reviews being positive, we wanted to come here and finally was able. The service is friendly. The ambience rustic, down home, pub-ish (good cool vibe). Lots of seating, both indoor and outdoors. They have two outdoor seating areas ... the back with the 'river' view and the front is on the promenade (fun for people watching).
The food was very tasty.
Salmon Tartar: This was more for American' tastebuds ... mango and mango puree, generous chunks of avocado and fresh grapefruit segments. Very California. Delicious and light. Came with fries, which were a little under seasoned and cold (that was the case for all the fries we ordered as I think they make them in big batches as it's the typical accompaniment for most entrees).
ESTA burger: Super flavorful, never thought of pairing it with tartar sauce. Must like tartar sauce, but if you do, YUM! The bun was toasted to perfection and held up nicely to the juice patty. Fresh green lettuce gave it the freshness and crisp too.
Mussels with bacon and beer: That broth .... yum! You'd want to drink it; they give you a spoon so they know you want to drink it too. Dunk the bread into it to soak up the yummy salty, briny, addicting goodness. The mussels were plump and fresh too.
Forgot the name, but its a sausage with cheese (raclette?) casserole. Salty, meaty, hearty, rich and filling. Order a side salad to cut the richness. It was very good, but I wouldn't be able to eat all of it due to how filling and cheesy it is.
Good place, glad we came. Pix to come!
