One of the pivot points on my MFS attic stairs broke. I found mention of the Attic Ladder Guy on a contractor forum as a seller of refurbed parts for my stairs and sent an email to Jay. He responded right away and told me he could put me on a wait list for the obsolete parts I needed, but if I was a do-it-yourselfer there was a way I could fix the stairs myself, simply with a lag bolt and a washer. Jay's solution worked like a charm and cost me pennies! I bought a pair of spring guides (my stairs didn't have them) from the Attic Ladder Guy site to help take some pressure off the pivots after seeing pictures of other installations on the site. I sent Jay pics of my broken parts and by that evening he had everything I needed and total including shipping which was much lower than I expected. So polite and helpful. In less than 2 weeks I received the parts. Perfect!!! They are now installed and after at least 3-4 years being broken they work perfectly. We are in South Tulsa County, OK. Our wooden attic ladder broke and we decided to replace it as it was dangerous to climb. I have an old MFS pull down stairs in the garage. One side wore out and would no longer pull down without the spring jumping out of the channel. Jay was able to fabricate a replacement, and now the stairs opens and closes as it should. And in my opinion , at a reasonable cost. Thanks Jay read more
