How could one project go so well and the second project end in disappointment?…read moreThe first hardwood floor installation in June 2025 was professional, no dust and job clean up was thorough, it was flawless. It went so well I decided to do another room. Two different workers came this time, July 2025 & asked where my 220 plug was. The worker plugged his wires into my dryer machine plug. I questioned why there was no plug on his machine only wires coming out & he said "it's ok" when they began to sand my new smoke detectors were blaring & I come upstairs to one worker standing in my living room, far from the room they were working on with a mask on in a cloud of dust saying "sorry, something wrong with the machine" and my smoke detectors were put into a bathroom. As a professional they should have prevented the dust from circulating throughout my house and if the equipment was faulty it should not have been used. As soon as the dust was circulating throughout the house the equipment should've been turned off until a working replacement was available. Apparently the sander had no vacuum bag attached, in the high humidity the dust settled & adhered to everything inside the house. The fact that the smoke detectors were blaring was additional proof that the workers created a hazardous environment in my house and judging by the layer of dust on my fan blades I used to clear the air my new smoke detectors are probably compromised. Also the baseboard heater was left dangling from the wall & I had to fix the holes from them ripping it off the wall to reattach properly myself. Also worth noting, I have found 2 live cockroaches so far in the rooms that were done. I'm not sure if they were brought in with their equipment or what, but I have never seen previously in my home. I felt my concerns expressed to Brian were not taken seriously and the only apology I received for the second job nightmare was from 2 of his employees and none from the owner of the business. If this happened on the first job, they would never have been hired for the second Job. I have other projects I'm looking forward to do, but will look elsewhere. I would give the first job 4/5 stars, but zero for the second.

The owner, Brian Harding, came in within just a few days, and gave me a great estimate! He was very professional, honest, and right on point about a few nicks that were already on my floors. Colin did an amazing job repairing an antique china cabinet that was improperly dismantled for a…read morecross-country move. The movers removed the feet and bottom wooden piece, without asking, then walked away without putting it back together. Colin came, took the feet and wood, rebuilt the broken feet, removed wood glue from many years past and rebuilt the cabinet. Once the feet were cleaned up and reattached the bottom wood piece, he came back and reattached everything to the china cabinet. It is now more solid than it had been in over fifty years. This piece has been in our family for three generations and I am so thrilled to have it back in its full beauty again. Colin is a thoughtful, meticulous craftsman and I would hire him again in an instant to repair any piece.

We hired DRM Home Improvement to do several jobs for us. Wild critters had infiltrated one of our units. Rob Michanczyk & his crew did a superb job replacing sheetrock, the ceiling, the damaged wood, and to finish up: the painting. In addition the cleanup was perfect. Usually with condo owners, there can be complaints BUT not with DRM Home Improvement. There was praise from all the Board members and the owner & tenant of the unit that was affected. Considering the amount of work done & the excellent cleanup, the cost was reasonable & comparable to & sometimes less expensive than the competitors. In addition to the previous job, we hired DRM to replace 8 roofs. Again, the work done was excellent, the cleanup was superlative, and the cost was within our budget. The work is always done within the specified time. This month I hired Rob & DRM to install a new vanity cabinet & sink for me. They picked up the vanity at the store, brought it to my condo, up 3 flights of stairs, installed it perfectly, cleaned up, and discarded the old vanity for me. The plumber they sent came the same day & completed the installation efficiently. You can be sure if you hire DRM for your personal or business projects, you will be satisfied. All involved are experienced, knowledgeable, courteous and professional. In my opinion, support your local businesses, you will be happy you did.
