Atria Villa *was* 5-stars until it got bought out by some shady investment group out of Bellevue, but overall it still provides some of the best bang for your buck accommodations I have seen in the city compared to large corporate-owned complexes.
UNIT:
- 970 SQ FT 1BR (yes, almost 1K sq ft)
- Large balcony enough for multiple chairs and a small table, gas grill allowed, facing city with good view
- Large bed room
- Vanity station with drawers
- Working Fire place??!?!?
- Tons of storage space in-unit
- Small bathroom, shitty tiny fan that doesnt really suck any air out
- Large kitchen with older appliances
- Washer/Dryer added after columbia partners purchased the building
- Most of the unit is carpeted, though :(
AMENITIES:
- Parking in garage or behind building in rear parking lot. Both are really convenient and the spaces are large so even trucks and large SUVs should have no problem.
- Large outdoor patio space for hosting groups
- Laundry Room with coin-operated laundry
- Hang-out room next to laundry with pool table
- No package service, but UPS/FedEx tend to drop boxes in front of mailboxes and no one else in the building touches them. Since mailboxes are inside and you need a key to get in, stuff is pretty safe.
- No on-site staff, but this is a smaller complex with only like 20-some units.
PETS:
- Cats only
BEFORE COLUMBIA PARTNERS PURCHASE:
This place was amazing. Some rich family owned this building and were pretty decent about the rent. No in-unit washer dryer, but there was coin-operated washer/dryers in the laundry room on level 0/B. I was paying $1600/mo ALL INCLUSIVE. Yes, parking was included. Oh, did I mentioned month-to-month so no lease keeping me here?
AFTER COLUMBIA PARTNERS PURCHASE.
Rent shot up to $1810, and now it seems like they are planning on bumping it up every year about $50. I will be paying $1875 in August. On the plus side, they put in-unit washer dryers into everyone's unit. This did seem to make up for the rent increase since it definitely made it easier to do laundry. They started charging for parking. They also started allowing cats for some reason if you pay pet rent and an additional deposit. On the plus side they still allow month-to-month for no additional cost which is nice to have the flexibility to time when I want to leave. But I definitely feel the greed of maximizing profit over having steady renters is coming in. Some people who had been here for years immediately left when the rent went up and it was such a shame to see long-time renters leaving.
OVERALL:
The building is quiet. No one is blasting music or partying. The hallways are normally empty. You only see people going to/from work and going to their cars. That's it. My unit is huge compared to other people who are in new luxury apartments. Also, having a balcony is dope. Its covered, so you can be outside grilling even when its raining (unless your on the top floor). There is a fire place, which i have never used, but adds a lot of "coolness" to the building. The kitchen is massive compared to other units I've seen. Tons of counter and storage space. The appliances are old but they work. And from what I've seen the new management company (InCity Properties) seems to be good about responding to maintenance requests. Dee, the building manager, is really sweet and super helpful. She cares about the tenants and she's awesome.
I think this is a great place to live for long periods of time, provided rent doesn't get out of control. I might update my review later if things change. Compared to other greedy apartment complexes in the city, this place is a nice breath of fresh air. read more
