An Amazing Experience!…read more I can't express enough how thankful I am for Lori and the entire staff at Segovia. I recently needed to transition my 91 year old mother from her own home to assisted living. I researched many locations and visited a couple of them and none of them hold a candle to the quality and care of the Segovia staff. Lori from Marketing made the process incredibly easy and treated my mom with such care and compassion. They helped me get really nice rental furniture quickly from a trusted vendor and made the move in process seamless. The building facilities are top notch and beautifully decorated. I have now had multiple meals with my mom at Segovia and the food quality is amazing and the service is excellent. The staff has made us feel very welcome in such a short time. In my mom's first week, she has already started making friends and participating in the multiple activities in the development and offsite. If you are looking for the best in assisted living in the Coachella Valley, Segovia is the place!

When researching to…read morefind the right place, we experienced everything from a hard sales pitch to "i do not care" attitude. Segovia WON hands down. From the first interaction with Lori Torres until this day, she was a great help for us and our decision. Lori took time to answer every question we had. It never felt like a sales pitch which we experienced with other places. Her attitude was always pleasant, friendly, yet professional. Kudos to Lori- a five star experience. So very happy we found SEGOVIA and mom can now call it her home.

1:12 1 My 97 year…read moreold mother sadly passed away 3 weeks ago, but I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care she received for the past 10 months that she lived at Emerald Rose 2 in the care, primarily, of Isaac, Katia & owner, Julie (as well as the hospice nurses from DeLa Rosa Hospice). Not only is the physical space bright and open and very clean, the people who work there reflect the space. Sunny and helpful. As an only child, I was able to sleep nights knowing mom had top notch care. Katia is a great cook, but also daily made the effort to serve my mother food that she was able to eat due to her issues with teeth and swallowing. They made the effort to create activities for the residents (movies, music, bingo and other games like Left, Right, Center). I can't count how often my mother told me how lucky she was to be there. I looked at five other group homes before choosing Emerald Rose Garden. There was no comparison. It was truly a godsend. Thank you!

Let me preface this by saying that this will be a gushing review: I cannot express how grateful I…read moream for having found the likes of Julie (the owner) and her absolutely magical crew (Apple, Jay, you are amazing humans). Being an only child no longer local to the desert and having to deal with big, life altering decisions for which there is no instruction book, Emerald Rose was a beacon in the dark. Bright, impeccably cared for, the place felt *alive* which is in stark contrast to what I'd seen in other care homes. Instead of seeking refuge for my beloved family member, at Emerald Rose it felt like a place where he'd be able to thrive as much as person who'd just been through two strokes in two years. And he is not easy, my Dad, yet they handle him and his needs with care, respect and dignity which is another thing you'd automatically assume but is very much lacking in these settings. If you are looking for help, don't hesitate to look further: this is the best it gets. Thank you infinitely for allowing me to sleep at night Julie; you are all very special people.

The Palms Gracious Living in LaQuinta is an awesome retirement space where residents can come and…read morego as they please. This is where I would like to be when I get of age. My best friend Dennis and I found this place when it first opened so he would not worry about his beautiful father Trevitt feeling alone after his wife died in his golden years. He is a charter member. Well I promised my buddy that I would look after his father if any happens to him and unfortunately it did. I have looked after his dad, for 4 great years here, and after his passing of 102, his "girlfriend, Yoshie" who has no family in the United States asked me if I would care for her. The Palms makes it incredibly easy and I agreed. The wonderful people that manages the facility, Robbie, Vikki, as well as Lenny are very caring and responsive to the residents needs. Robbie tells a joke during dinner, reads the menu selections for the day as well as activities. They have a beautiful movie theatre (along with a popcorn and ice cream machine) and Robbie even dances at the sock hop with his wife Vikki. They both have monitors connected to each residence in case of an emergency. Vikki plays the piano, and knows each residence's health requirements, and serves dinner as well. She doesn't just see each person, SHE HEARS THEM. For she truly has a big heart. Stephanie is the "Big Bad" coordinator for entertainment, activities and exercise etc. She runs a "tight ship", works hard to keep everyone busy, happy and strong. She's understanding, but an alert traffic cop and will give tickets if she catches any resident speeding in their scooter or electric walkers! Dawn is the community sales director and always has a beautiful smile for everyone she meets. A breath of fresh air every time that I see her. She makes sure that this place always has a waiting list for people that want to live here. They have also have a private bus that takes them shopping, to doctor appointments, day on the town etc. Oh! I must mention that the meals are included...wonderful breakfasts, dinners and suppers, with a community refrigerator stocked with drinks and sometimes those late night snacks and munchies thought the day. I must give props to the young adults that work so hard in the facility led by Mariah. She knows every resident's name and how they like their salads, juices etc. and remembers special stories about each one. This group not only serve the meals, but they clean each apartment, wash beddings and the hallways are always immaculate because of them. tell me? Where did they find these angels? Executive Chef, Martin, who whips up incredible meals. And if you know a resident, be invited to their special dinners like Easter, Christmas or the like! Simply amazing!! He also makes sure that there are optional dishes each day for those who have discriminating or, allergic issues. These are just a few of the incredible things you will find here at this great place, but all in all, The Palms is a well run, happy, and a friendly new home away from home. Come and check it out! Sincerely, Darnell Harrison II.

From Jon, the executive director, to the folks who do the laundry and keep everything spic and span. I'm fussy about her care, and I visited every day before the virus struck us. The people are all smiles and really care about the folks in their charge. The executive director has an open door and is immediately available to address whatever concern anyone might have. The food is better than decent. Served as best they can, with the lockdown. Snacks, drinks, all you want. Great attention to the administration of medicines. Timely and done with a smile. The staff has a way of making the folks feel "important," not just another body. And they keep us informed and advised. Important! I think they do a great job. It's the best that I have seen. Quiet at night, none of the screaming, commotion and smell that plague some of these long term care places. We are all waiting for the virus to abate so that visiting can get back to normal. I think they are doing the right thing testing and keeping people out who aren't necessary. They have a huge TV that they use to do zoom. (Or whatever) virtual visits. A nice touch. And they love dogs here. That tells you a whole lot The community is a series of nice touches!

She told me she would notify the Health & Wellness nurse and manager about my application. During that same conversation, she also suggested that I might want to apply for a different position because she had "never seen a male caregiver in assisted living." That comment was discouraging. Caregiving should be based on skills, experience, and compassion -- not gender. Male caregivers are fully capable of providing respectful, quality care. Being indirectly discouraged from a role simply because I'm male felt unfair and unprofessional. I was genuinely interested in working here, but this experience left me disappointed.

The assessment had NO physical aspect to it but then we were told my father "required too much care". For the record, he walks with a walker, mentally sharp, takes care of all his own personal hygiene needs. I just don't feel like they were honest about what the reason was. My father worked until he was 83 as a stock broker...golfed until he was 90. He's 93 now. Not run very professional and I have been in the medical field for 50 years. I know about assisted living facilities (my mother was in an Oakmont for 12 years). I know about Skilled nursing and the difference between them. Anyway.... much improvement needed from the LVN that does assessments. NM, Medical Practice Consultant
