One day I received an email about The Tuttle Center and immediately called. After speaking with a Marketing representative, I asked to schedule a tour of the facility. My first impression when I drove up for my tour was "Wow, I am going to a 5-Star Resort". After the tour, I immediately made my decision that is was time to transfer my mother to The Tuttle Center and within three weeks from the day of my tour, my mother had a new home - The Tuttle Center. Every time I go to see my mother, I say to myself "She lives in Utopia". The staff takes excellent care of my mother's every need. I am very impressed at the attention during the day given to all the residents in the Memory Support Unit, especially how the residents are kept very busy with activities that are fun but also helps to stimulate their memory. Sometimes I sit and do activities also, just to un-stress myself. The preparation of the food looks great; each day there is an activity or event going on; her medical needs are met; there is great communication back to me on the state of her health; there is a true warm, friendly, loving home atmosphere at The Tuttle Center. The Staff from the Care Managers in the Memory Support Unit to the Management Team are extremely professional, understanding, friendly, helpful and loving. Negative energy is not allowed at The Tuttle Center. Everyday life at The Tuttle Center is outstanding. Your loved one will get additional love by the staff at The Tuttle Center. I could never reach the higher ups they never returned calls and nurses from one shift didn't know what happened in the prior shift. They didn't make an effort to get my dad to eat or participate. If he said no there was no real substitute and he lost so much weight. It might have good ratings but the care is severely subpar.

But the bottom line in that this "senior community" seems to have been designed for high-rollers who are willing to pay through the nose to stay near their grandchildren and on the familiar turf of counties that are going bankrupt. Unless some critical factors change at "The Seasons at Seaford" I would just keep driving and pick up some burgers at All American, instead.

The front desk employee was named, Sidi, he made me feel at home instantly. He helped me with my check in process and directed me to the elevator. When I got out of the elevator, I passed other employees, everyone made eye contact, spoke and was willing to assist me with locating my mom's room. This facility was nice, clean and spacious. They have 4 elevators. I observed Staff members interacting with other patients. There is a seating area on unit where you can sit outside of the bedroom but still on unit to visit your loved ones. My mom was admitted on Thursday evening and I saw her on Saturday. Other family members seen her on the previous days. My brother and sister in law meet with the OT and PT on Friday and stated how through their assessments were. They asked a lot of questions to really get to know my mom and her functional abilities prior to admission. When I saw my mom on Sat morning she was nicely groomed, her bed was neatly made and she was positioned comfortably in her bed. Her call bell, remote, cell phone etc... were in reach. The temperature was very comfortable. Her room was huge, very spacious with enough storage space for her clothing and personal items. They also had a nice clean wheelchair with supportive items for her to use. Lots of available pillows for her to use and two nice comfortable chairs for family members to sit. The lunch they served her was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas. It looked and smelled good. The staff also took time to check to see how much my mom ate before taking her tray. My mom's CNA checked on my mom often and let us know she was available if we needed anything. I'm very impressed by everything and look forward to working with them! My mom is short term but will be transitioned to long term care. This might be the hidden gem in Long Island. Also, the admission director was exceptional, she helped to make the admission process quick and easy.

Atria made the process of moving her belongings from her apartment in Assisted Living Atria to Life Guidance as painless as possible. The care she received by Life Guidance's staff was also excellent. My grandmother was wheelchair-bound and it took two workers to transfer her out of the wheelchair and despite my grandmother being very scared of falling(she had suffered several prior), they were able to instruct her how to hold onto the walker as both staff members eased her out of the wheelchair and then into bed. They kept encouraging her "You can do this" and they were right there to help her feel more secure and stable as she made the transfer. My mom saw firsthand how the Life Guidance staff was with my grandmother. The workers were very warm and friendly and she could see her mom felt at home there, which was no easy task. Communication between the family and Aisha Kingsberry was very good and would answer any questions and was easy to contact via email. Aisha even helped us set up automatic delivery of the incontinence supplies so family didn't have to make a mad dash to the pharmacy nor the workers have to go across the street to Rite Aid to get some. The Executive Director Colleen was very good at keeping the family informed at what is going on via email updates. Even with the COVID crisis, emails with updates on case numbers and what precautions were taking place were very helpful and comforting. Unfortunately my grandmother ending up contracting the virus in April 2020 and passing away from it. Atria even sent a plant as a bereavement gift and we were touched by this gesture. Atria and their Life Guidance community is an exceptional facility that provides top-notch care.

NEGATIVE STARS BEWARE…read more Absolutely no compassion or empathy for anyone who has difficult behaviors. No support for the family, zero guidance. The social worker is extremely unprofessional and had the nerve to talk to me after hours intoxicated and tell me how bad my loved one was. But where else was she going to go. She would get upset with my LO and treat her like a child. Never once did they help me find another placement. They would just send her to the hospital to get a psyc evaluation. I stayed because I was scared and didn't know where else to go etc. I should have moved my LO out after she was beaten up by her roommate when the facility knew they weren't getting along. I felt helpless. I thought this was our life now. They never sent my LO to the hospital for that. I thankfully found a new place that is so nice and respectful and helpful. I would never recommend Amber Court in Westbury.
