Have been training at Atomic kickboxing for many years and wouldn't train anywhere else. The facility is spacious, kept clean and hygienic and the gear is new and not run down like most other dojos. The owner is a dedicated teacher who has studied Muay Thai for 20+ years from the best in the sport, often training in Thailand himself and bringing that experience and knowledge back to his students and staff. I have been doing kickboxing on and off for the last 10 years across 4 different states. Atomic Kickboxing has been in the top 3 gyms favorite I have gone to. Every member of the staff is super friendly and engaged - of course to the degree that you reciprocate. Each trainer has their own twist, exercises, and music, but the structure of the classes are the same. They are purposefully challenging to transform your body, but beginner friendly enough to go at your own pace. After years of not exercising, I started at Atomic and could barely make it through a class. But I was able to stick with it, with some breaks, and get myself to lose over 35lbs. The hardest part is starting, but the classes become addicting the more you do it and the community/motivation from the instructors and other members helps you stay accountable. Would recommend to anyone who is serious about committing to change and wants to have an exercise they are passionate about. read more

This place is a scam with payments. I cancelled my membership after they charged me (I had called and left a message 2 weeks prior saying that I wanted to cancel). When I saw the $135 charge come out I called them the next day (12/13). They said that I was "cancelling within the 6 month contract" so I had to fill out a form and pay a $199 cancellation fee. Ugh...Ok, fine... I was feeling generous so I wasn't going to put up too much of a stink. I got another charge for $135 on 1/13. I called them up saying I needed to be reimbursed because I already filled out the form and paid the fee. I was told that "due to line 11 on my contract" I had to pay all payments that would possibly come out within a 30 day window of cancelling". So because my monthly payment comes out on the 12th of the month, I would be responsible for this payment even though my membership officially ended on 1/13. So I just paid $135 for ONE DAY OF MEMBERSHIP essentially. Like, WTF!?! I asked if I could come for this month since I already paid for another month and he said "no, your membership ended on 1/13." SCAMMY!! I was hoping to return one day because the classes were great, but I definitely have a bad taste in my mouth from this experience. I am writing this review in tears, which working out should not make you do. I had my first class today. I am disappointed in the male staff here. I thought it was difficult, but fun. The vibes were good. I was high fiving fellow classmates. We were telling each other "good job" and so on. I wasn't great at the kickboxing, but I am out-of-shape and took the things that I couldn't do in stride. One of the classmates, Lisa, was really good and I complimented her, jokingly calling her the "MVP" of the class. I complimented the teacher at the end. I liked that he kept trying to help me and break things down. I complimented the music, joked that the Linkin Park songs were nostalgic and reminded me of middle school. They give you gloves and a water here which I thought was generous and thoughtful. Honestly, it was super hard because I am out-of-shape but I had fun. At the end of the class, one of the instructors asked me to take a picture. I basically begged him not to but I was smiling under my mask (I still wear a mask during group work outs for safety) and trying to joke because that's how I deal with difficult situations. I am self conscious with my body. I am trying to get in shape. I just finished an intense work out. It's just me- this sweaty female in front of three extremely fit men and yes, I am self-conscious. Many, many women are self-conscious. One of the gentleman suggested I send a Facebook picture. I said "Great," he said "no right now," I said "Okay I will do it in the car, bye guys, thanks" and I left because I was uncomfortable. Afterwards, I thought nothing of it. I went home and sent them a picture of myself, as promised. Then I get an email seemingly out of nowhere stating that they cancelled my membership with no explanation. I call them because I was genuinely confused. I am thinking there was probably a mistake because I was just there. The picture thing was the FURTHEST from my mind. When I call, the gentleman tells me that they cancelled my Groupon membership because they "want clients with a positive outlook" and I "didn't want to take a picture" right then and there after class. What? Can you imagine? My heart dropped and I began crying on the phone. I told him that I respect if that's how you feel but I wish that they took a second to consider that we, as unfit and overweight women, are vulnerable on our fitness journeys. I said that I hope in the future that these men will take that under consideration. He did apologize and said he would talk to the owner but I was so upset and not interested. To me, this was a miscommunication and misunderstanding that they totally took to the extreme. Just because I have insecurities, does not mean I am an overall negative person and don't deserve a work out experience. Staff, your reaction to me simply not wanting to take a photo is disappointing (and a little bit disgusting, if I am honest). I agree with you, though: I also want a positive workout environment with good vibes and this place is not it. read more

Horrible customer service... This is their response through Facebook Messenger when I confirmed my Groupon cancellation due to the horrible customer service: "Ok, thank you. We'd prefer people like you not be a part of our team anyway. We only deal with positive people who are rational and reasonable. Please do not contact us again, call Ilovekickboxing. I can honestly say that this is one workout I do not get bored from. I try to make kickboxing 1-2x a week but sometimes my hectic schedule will prevent that. However when I am able to attend class, I always leave feeling exactly how I should..... Sweaty and happy! The instructors Amber and Brian are amazing! They know exactly how to get the class motivated and keep a watchful eye on everyones technique and will help you to correct it if needed. They are humble and passionate about what they do and it is clearly demonstrated in every class. When I first started here, my form starting with my punches, right down to my kicks, was all over the place. Now, I have a more steady stance and know the way I need to shift my body for the type of impact I am aiming for. If you are looking for a fast paced, fun, positive environment in a class setting, then this is the place for you. The classes always begin and end the same way. You start with a 10 minute warm up (trust me it will warm you up!) then a 10 minute stretch followed by 30-40 minutes of INTENSE punching/kicking combos (on a real bag with real gloves. None of that air punching nonsense) and then we always end with partner drills. I feel this is a great addition as it helps with getting to know your classmates as well as get you out of your comfort zone. I am never disappointed when I leave class, only when I can't make it. read more

I've been to two classes so far and I have to say, Atomic Kickboxing is a keeper! The staff is super friendly, encouraging, and dedicated. Each class is totally different which is fantastic--after all variety is the spice of life right?! You can tell they are truly passionate and love what they do. Moreover, they are dedicated to helping each of their clients as well. They foster an environment in which students of all levels get the support and attention they need and as a newbie they often encourage me to take breaks when I need them, correct my form, and dole out plenty of high fives when I do things well! From what I can tell, they have done more than build a gym with a great workout program, they're building a community in which each member feels at home, forms friendships and forges a healthy lifestyle. read more

After 10 years my boxing coach moved away.... I thought I would never find a trainer or a class comparable to his workout or the feeling of "wanting" to go workout.... Until I found Atomic Kickboxing! I look forward to going to class every time. The instructors are very challenging and motivating. They are educated & trained in kickboxing and this makes all the difference in learning proper technique to get the most out of our workouts and not to get hurt. In just a short amount of time my stamina and strength has improved drastically and I am down 1 whole size! The way this place is managed is embarrassing. The instructors all seemed nice but the management and business aspect of it is absolutely ridiculous. I signed up a couple months ago and was told at the time of signup that I could cancel any time as long as I paid the cancellation fee (Which on a whole other note is more than the membership itself BUT I was willing to pay it to cancel the membership) soon after joining my hours changed at my employer and it became impossible for me to attend classes therefore it is a waste of money now (why would I pay for something that I can't utilize?) So, that being said I tried to cancel my membership, I attempted to contact them through the number I would receive text messages from asking when I was going to be back in class (As a side note I told them I couldn't make it to a couple classes due to my work schedule which is very demanding, and I was requested by them to try to get some time off or get out early to attend classes which in a whole other aspect is completely ignorant) After contacting the number and getting no response I then sent an email to the LISTED EMAIL in the contract, I attached a signed document of cancellation which is stated within the contract as necessary to cancel the membership, the document was signed and dated and very cut and dry....No answer. Soon there after i was finally contacted through text message about needing to come in for a necessary "Exit interview" which is NOT stated within the contract. Not a great experience. read more
