AHI TUNA & SPICY TUNA BOWL
Steven T.

FAMILY POKE BOWL ADVENTURE!!! We all love the Poke Bowls from ATO!!! This trip me and my Girls went for lunch. The fish, ingredients and add ons are always fresh. Food to Value = very good!!! Price point is average in comparison to competitors, about 12-15$ per bowl. The difference is the quality of the food. ATO is definitely at the high end in food quality. One of the best places to get a Poke bowl from. AS ALWAYS, TRY IT DOR YOURSELF!!!

As one of the few spots in Lakeland to get a poke bowl, Ato really holds down the fork (it was funny just admit it). They are located in the Joinery amidst a couple other good food options, but most of the time I just end up coming back to good ole Ato. The poke bowls are just really, really good. It's always really fresh ingredients and it's fun to even get gyoza or crab rangoons sometimes as an extra treat. Not only can you get poke bowls, but you can spice it up a little and get a sushi burrito. Yes, it is pretty much a sushi roll that hasn't been cut up yet, but it's still pretty darn good. If you are at all a sushi/ poke fan, Ato is a valid choice for downtown eats!

Well we rolled in 30 deep on a charter bus full of collegiate athletes that just finished a game and Ato took amazing care of my team. They were kind, attentive and the service was quick considering. Never a moment of panic when their line was long and they worked with us to break up the payment to make it easier on them. The poke bowls were very big and my ladies were beyond excited and happy with the taste and quality of the food. I appreciate that so much and made the bus ride home great!! Thank you Ato for one of our best post game meals yet!! The joinery overall is a really neat spot, even found some of our parents hanging out after the game. The outside is very inviting and a lot of people out enjoying the less humid weather of the evening. I highly recommend Ato for small groups or even giant ones like ours.

I got the soft shell crab, & Kraken Sushi Burrito, w/ Spicy tuna & shrimp tempura. I come here at least once a week and this place is my go to!

One of the best Poke bowls I've had in a long time. Will be back next time I'm in Florida.

So ATO is one of a few restaurants within the Location known as The Joinery. This review is for The ATO only not The Joinery overall. I have been coming to the Joinery since it opened several years ago. Since I love all things sushi and Asian food I fell in love with this restaurant. They had a sushi burrito called the Godzilla which I wish I had a picture of. They were amazing and had a significant amount of raw chunks of tuna and a sauce that I couldn't get enough of. It was huge. So today having come to Lakeland for work I decided to stop here again for the beloved Sushi Burrito Godzilla. So when I received my burrito I pointed out to my wife that it looked much smaller than in times past. Once I bite into it I realized there were no chunks of tuna but a ground up version and not really much of that. For a burrito costing north of $16 it really was a disappointment. I did speak with the manager about my disappointment with it but he told me that this was the way it's always been made. Since I have had this dish several times over the years I truly was disappointed with this response. I feel like a better description would be a sushi roll not a Burrito. I guess next time I visit The Joinery I will eat somewhere else.

Located in The Joinery Food Hall in Downtown Lakeland. You have your fresh sushi burrito and poké bowl options, as you can choose from a curated menu or create your own masterpiece from a selection of quality ingredients. Ordered a poké bowl with white rice, ahi tuna, salmon, spicy mayo, cucumbers, roasted corn, cream cheese, avocado, cilantro, scallions, and masago. Everything tasted fresh and had great flavor as well. Online ordering and catering available. Friendly service. We really enjoyed it.

$16 the Florida Bowl

It's a just okay poke bowl situation. A lot more expensive than most places I have personally been to for a poke bowl. Hey that's the power of the branding. Being that this was one of the only "cold" food options at The Joinery on a 98 degree Florida day, I almost felt stuck with it. My Florida Bowl had a great amount of avocado and a decent serving of. Serving of fish. The rice had a lot of vinegar in it, which I do like, but if you prefer a more traditional sushi rice (less sweet) than you might be better getting the bowl on greens. The young man working was not rude but couldn't have cared less that I existed.

Calling their sushi rolls sushi burritos and charging $12.50 for them is a bit of a scam here. The item I was served was most certainly not a sushi burrito. The poke bowls look like a much more reasonable portion for the price. The service here was pretty mediocre. If I came back to the joinery I'd definitely go for ramen or pizza over Āto because the quality, portions, and service at the other spots just far exceed this one. Could use a more flavorful sauce offering to add, especially if they're calling this a sushi burrito.

I had Land and Sea, very filling. First time eating a sushi burrito was good. Eat regular sushi regularly so this was different.

Hit or a miss. Sometimes my bowl is packed, sometimes not. Rice also tastes off-almost chalky? They need to rinse the rice more.

When you walk in, you're greeted with a complimentary Eddie Special, which is a tempura shrimp with…read moresauce on top..along with miso soup on the house, which was a nice touch. We started with crab wontons and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls to share, both solid appetizers but they had no distinctive wow factors. If you dipped them in the sauce they came with it gives it more flavor but on their own they lack seasoning. For my entrée, I ordered the crunchy roll. While the flavor was okay, the presentation felt a bit off and messy compared to what I'm used to from sushi spots that really focus on visual appeal. It just didn't wow me the way I expected. Surprisingly, the Eddie Special ended up being my favorite bite of the night. I also tried my dad's Ginza sushi and enjoyed his choice more than my own. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the pricing is reasonable. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick bite, even if some dishes shine more than others.

The server brought out an appetizer and clear soup right away. The clear soup was ok- lacking flavor. I ordered a Hwy 17 and Volcano roll. The rolls were good but not the best sushi I've ever had. Overall for a quick lunch it was fine but I wouldn't come back.

We were seated within 2 minutes of arriving despite having a full table and the place was spotless. The tables were clean, the floor was clean, and despite its small location it didn't feel cramped. The only complaint I have about the place itself was the other guests were obnoxiously loud and nothing was done about it. Not talking wise but I mean watching videos on their phones loud. The food however was a hit and a miss. My group and I shared our dishes so we could try multiple things. While the plating was beautiful and clean the menu was sparse on information and relied heavily on you knowing what these dishes were beforehand or asking questions. The hibachi was wonderful, very flavorful and well cooked and arrived within minutes. The soup and salad was fresh and probably the best part of the entire meal. The sushi however, which is what this place is known for according to those we asked beforehand, was the worst part of the meal. The second worst sushi I've ever had actually (the worst being Publix). The fish was soggy and flavorless, to the point it was literally sliding off the rice and many of us just abandoned it altogether. Usually I can tell what type of fish I'm eating from one bite. I could not with Fancy Q. ETA: I forgot to mention the sushi also took a very long time to arrive. Over 30 minutes. Overall I feel the best parts were the service and soup/salad. I am uncertain if I would go back. Perhaps with a large group again but not on my own. I would be willing to try different locations.
