Great Experience Here's the lowdown here. Your vacation spot depends on the property owner/manager. The unit we rented had two rooms and two baths and was perfect for two couples. Oceanside on the 8th floor with amazing views and hearing the ocean crash all night and to wake up to. The unit was brand new, bathrooms and kitchen. The location was a good one too. Close to the boardwalk but not more than 15 minutes from North Myrtle or Murrills Inlet the other way. For 1200 bucks for week right on the water for four people, I don't think you could get a better value either. Forgot to mention the nice amenities of the lazy river pool, big hot tub, indoor pool, and a 30 second walk to the beach. Nice for families as well. I would recommend every time but make sure you get a good look at the unit pictures and ask the renter when the unit was last renovated. It's important information. Thanks read more

I have been coming to MB for years but my last trip was 10 years ago. I had previously always stayed in the "golden mile" area. I am definitely not the person that would ever say "eh, its ok if the room isnt great, you will barely be there". I like everything to be clean, smell good, not have a bunch of rude neighbors. In the past, I would never have considered staying near "the strip". However, the group that we stayed with wanted to be within walking distance to the boardwalk and restaurants so I agreed to book closer to the strip area. Despite the terrifying reviews, I have to say, this was probably one of the best and most relaxing vacations I have taken. I rented our 2 bed/2bath condo on Airbnb, so we knew it was privately owned and privately maintained. Our condo was great - Room 853. Clean, with great amenties included like beach chairs, beach towels, etc. When I first arrived to the Atlantica, I was a little concerned. The lobby/hallways/elevators leave a lot to be desired but that was the only areas that I felt were not maintained. I did not see a single bug the entire trip. The pools & hot tubs were cleaned daily, the beach was *not* crowded at all (We were there Easter break). The shared spaces by the pool and bathrooms were also always clean and free of garbage or weird smells. Employees were very nice, there seemed to be 2 gentlemen that were managing the property and taking care of everything. When you were in the pool or on the beach you would have never known you were close to all of the "strip action" a couple blocks away. There was plenty of open parking (although not a great lot/unmonitored). Walking distance to a lot of things and Broadway at the beach was 7 minutes away. These people are THE WORST! Please do not book here even if you are desperate! They are not helpful and they dont have any clear after hours check in and before hours check out instructions. They have one stupid dropbox where in you are supposed to collect the keys and drop them off. The four of us dropped our keys before the staff came in and they couldn't find the keys for some reason! We asked them to check the cameras and they refused to do so - clearly they want to extract money from us by telling the owner that we didn't drop the keys. A total rip off and such a cheap management! We are being charged $250 for the keys and when we asked them to check the cameras, they refused to do so. First time ever staying here. The parking is not convenient, when we arrived we didnt even know how to get into the building because no one was at the front desk we has to follow other people checking in to find the door and use our code. The hall smelled like pee the whole stay. Some of the furniture in our suite was broken. One of the beds when my teenage son would lay down on it, the bed would lean up toward the wall and tip sideways. There was hair in the shower and on the toilet seat. The door would make a loud whistling noise sometimes so we had to cover the bottom of the door with a towel to stop the noise. The shower leaked in one of the bathroom so you heard constant dripping. There was like 3 tube's for the lazy river and they were deflated. The pool is small. We had to take our garbage to the other side of the hotel ourselves to throw away. The view was nice and the kitchen was nice. One of the bar stools was very tippy and felt like it would break if sat on. The window in my bedroom looked at the door to a different hotel room and the door code to our hotel room was fairly long so I had to screenshot the code to use when I needed to go back inside my suite. I was greeted by a seated young lady draped in a hotel blanket, and she didn't bother to stand up. It was a pouring and there was a tornado watch. The hotel was full and we couldn't find other accommodations. We booked four rooms with a balcony and received only two rooms with a balcony. The two non-balcony rooms were located in floor lobby on the first floor by the main entry door, the elevator and 24-hour in use ice-machine. When I made an attempt to voice my concerns to the manager, he kept cutting me off and emphatically repeated that no one is guaranteed to get the type of room they booked. The manager let hisself inside my room to retrieve clothing left behind by a previous guest. A cold drink left behind, scary! So, we slept with furniture behind the door. The furniture in two rooms has blood-like stains, the rusted stoves were not cleaned, and after our toilet overflowed, no one made an attempt to clean the toilet nor the bathroom floor; DISGUSTING! Worst vacation ever! I thought lasts year vacation was bad, but nope this one takes the cake! Customer service was terrible, and no help at all! The pools were closed half of the day. Stupid codes for the pool entrance was ridiculous Two trash bags , one set of towels a travel size dish soap . I was attempting to sweep the floor and the broom which was bent (almost in half) broke and sliced my finger. Call customer service about it , they didn't do anything! I got a tetanus shot when I got home! They didn't care! The owners were very snooty! NO HOT WATER the entire time we were there! I'll never stay there again!! read more

Facility could use a thorough cleaning. The roaches are in halls, in condos...we saw them three days out of seven. however, the maintenance staff work diligently on keeping pool area clean. That I can appreciate. While there our neighbors were incessantly loud. Loud in the morning, loud in the evening, loud at supper time. But, we were able to somewhat tune them out. There are two elevators. We never had a terrible wait except the day we were leaving. I'm not sure I would return to this condo/establishment. It would have to be an excellent deal. Best part of our condo was the location to beach and local restaurants and shops. Excellent. read more

Broken fingernails in dresser drawer, roaches in the bathroom, stained bedsheets and beds, food and dead bugs on the floors, mirrors dirty- you can tell this place hasn't been cleaned in a while. Oh my gosh! Where do I start? First off, when I first got in, the floor was very sandy, seems like they didn't even bother to clean the floor, theres dog hair and the couches are sticky, second off, we ordered room service to clean our room not once but TWICE. On the first time they don't have cleaning services, like who doesn't have cleaning services and your a hotel?! So we had to get it tommorow, but we didn't get our clean of course, so nobody showed up to clean. Our second try we got somebody and we still got nobody to show up? What?! Also, we even heard a story saying body got stuck on a elevator, also, it was a family! And when they said we couldn't take a elevator, we had to take the stairs (we were in the 12th floor, the highest other then the pent house) and my pregnant mom had to walk the stairs! 12 floors!? When we finally got to the top, we saw someone come out of the door we saw somebody get out of another elevator, they told none of us that there was a second elevator, thats absolutely absured. I wish I can give this place negative stars. It was issues from the very start. We waiting almost 2 hours before having access to our room. There were tons of people waiting for the same thing. Huge cockroach was in the bed. They don't clean rooms or provide clean towels as we were told housekeeping leaves at 5. Front desk is extremely rude and obviously hate their lives. Patio window was dirty. Furniture old and pool was disgusting. The smell of urine through the "resort" was nauseating. The hall gives very much MOTEL vibes. Floors were so nasty. If you stay in north tower be aware you will have to walk to south tower for ice. Parking is not on the property but across the street and 2 lots away. They promise you tickets to area attractions. You actually get one ticket per room from a choice of 4. The pictures were very deceiving and I don't recommend this place to anyone. There are definitely better places in the area. Beware. Our condo was gorgeous and way more than we expected. The condo was exceptionally clean and very spacious. The view was the best ever with beautiful sunrises every morning that took our breath away. We only had one day of bad weather but it was ok because there was an indoor pool and hot tub! We parked our car and never got back in it until the Vaction was over. The SkyWheel and boardwalk were viewable from our beach. Many restaurants , bars and shops were all close and walkable. There was even a full sized grocery store one block behind us, good thing since I needed more sun screen. We stayed in unit 155. Loved being only one floor up and not waiting for any elevators. We will try to get this same condo next year as well. read more

This is a horrible hotel! It's dirty, smelly and customer service is nonexistent.. When we went to the elevator, when the door open, we were met with the smell of mildew and the chips and paper all in the elevator floor. When we reached our floor, our hotel door had 3 different locks on them. When we went inside, the walls were filthy, sheets were dirty and there was blood on the wall. My partner and I traveled to South Carolina from the west coast to enjoy some southern hospitality, and invest in a vacation property with BLUEGREEN VACATIONS. We had an appointment with them in the morning. They set us up to stay at the Atlantica our sales person Craig was awesome. When we told him what had happened and showed him the pictures. He told his boss Julie, she was very attentive at first, she had me write a statement and even a "spokesperson" called and said someone would be getting in touch with us shorty. Julie assured us that even if we didn't purchase the property they wanted to get to the bottom of this horrible situation. She also told us that was not there property, they save their property for clients, this was an independent company. Avoid at ALL costs. Roaches Roaches Roaches. When we complained to the front desk they treated us as if we were the problem not the roaches. The lady told us that maybe we should call someone about as if it is our job as guests to upkeep the place. The Wifi that is advertised is mostly non existent and did not work in our room at all. Once again, when we complained the man told us it's not his problem and there is nothing he can do about it. Gross! Where do I start? The tiny reception area with a front desk clerk who looked like she rolled out the bed with unprofessional clothing? Eating, messy hair and an oil stained shirt... Maybe the way the clerks attitude was when she turned many people away because their room wasn't ready? At 4:00 in the evening??? Or it could be the fact that my 16 year old was changing - and s random guy opened our door - because they also gave our room to someone else? Perhaps the disgusting room with dirty dishes, lack of blankets and sheets, and an outlet that hung out and shocked one of our children? There was no full service maid service - we only got partial - but by that they mean they won't change sheets, sweep, get shampoos or soap. Or take out garbage? Or the party animals that hung out by our pool, because there was a lack of security? What about the homeless people that hung around? To top it off - it is not a lazy river folks - it is a lazy standing pool. Let's just say - Kelly should be happy she spoke to my wife. As a courtesy they did refund our cleaning fee. The location is good especially with teenagers and kids being so close to the boardwalk where there are plenty of attractions- shops, arcades, boardwalk food, restaurants, rides, face painting, henna tattoos.. etc. The overall ambience made me a little nervous when we pulled up. Not very updated... however, our actual condo was very spacious. Two large bedrooms, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, good size living area, and slim balconies that overlook the ocean and the pools.... all great things. HOWEVER, we saw about 10 cockroaches during our stay.. primarily in the bathroom and close to the balcony. The front staff was not impressive... kind of dismissive. We arrived after a 14 hour drive around 10am and asked if we would be able to go to our room earlier, the woman said yes we can get you in soon. Soon to her and to me must be different because we didn't get entry to our room until 2pm. Not the end of the world- just weird for a service industry usually there is no issue with earlier check ins. Also keep in mind check out is 10am so it wasn't like checkout was closer to 2pm... We stayed at other locations and the pools and amenities were much more impressive at the other locations. There is a kiddy pool, lazy river and hot tub that is in the direct sun. We used none of those and then under a roof was an "indoor" pool and hot tub that the kids used but still unimpressive. There was no large adult pool, no gym, no cafes or food shops attached. We enjoyed our stay due to the location and amazing weather. Also, house keeping is very nice and very accommodating. read more

Every unit is individually owned by a private owner. It is very difficult to rate this property, as is true for all resorts on the Grand Strand, since nearly all resorts are actually condominiums or better known as "condo-tels" and each suite has a different owner. See if you can look at pictures of the actual room you'll be staying at before arriving. VRBO and AirBNB are great for that. Some rooms in these resorts are beautifully and lavishly furnished and loved by the owners. Some are owned by slumlords. My experience here at the Atlantica was fantastic! The pool water was constantly kept crystal clear in spite of masses of people. That is true for both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, and lazy river. The Atlantica is literally on top of the ocean so you are only a 10 second walk to the Atlantic Ocean. Highly recommend! Just remember Myrtle Beach is different than other cities... Every one of the thousands of resorts out here have individual suite owners. I've never seen that before in my life, and I'm an avid traveler. Enjoy! read more

We reserved 2 condos ! My condo was exceptional room 153 loved it it can use new cookware pots pans other then that it was Great! There is NO ROOM SERVICE thats a BUMMER we have been here 3 days so far and just today im guessing hpisekeeping came in and took trash out and put semi washed towels on top of the dinning table! The other condo 251 smelled horrible phone broken . Blender broken one of the rooms light does not work! Same thing woth hpuse keeping semi cleaned towels and TRASH CAN NOT EMPTY!! So I am here right now and I regret getting this hotel like seriously it took me an hour to find my room because I had to grab the room code from the Dropbox from outside of the lobby. & once I came in room it was alright gladly I didn't get the worst room but sheets needs to be replaced and pillows it has yellow stains and there's something called pillow case which I don't know why they didn't add that to the beds. & don't get me started on the sink .. I was washing some dish and the sink water wasn't going down it was filling up the sink and when I turned off the water it went down quickly but started to have some smell it was disgusting.. & halls and elevators smells like cockroach spray (that's nasty kids shouldn't be inhaling that) but Never coming back again. This hotel was the absolute worse. The rooms are extremely dirty and has black marks all over the walls. The pullout couch has stains and marks on it; plus some sort of stains on the sheets in the pullout bed. The A/C wasn't working at all and we had to get maintenance to come out. They initially wouldn't let us in our room because they didn't have towels after we begged to-check in due to an event we needed to get ready for they let us into our room. The manager in training was absolutely rude and had no customer service skills at all. Due to them not being able to accommodate us in another room I am sleeping on a towel that I brought and I am fully clothed so that my skin touches nothing that belongs to this place. The hotel cost $400 a night generally but they need to bring their rate to $4 a night because that's how horrible this place is. read more

This review is an overall review for the entire area and not directly for the Atlantica. Unless you're a die hard racecar fan and just have to hear the noise of a big block engine reving all night, stay away from this area. For the past 2 nights, the main strip, Ocean Blvd, is like a raceway, without an actual race. Every 20 seconds, there is the reving of an engine on some street racer. There is little to no police in the area. Calling them is pointless. Its a zoo. The animals have been let out into the streets. Not a safe place to bring a family. I get it that young adults like to let loose but this is beyond that. People have put up lawn chairs in front of the Atlantica to watch the cars go by and race the engines as if it was a parade. Music playing so loud it drowns out the ocean at high tide. Saw one guy cruisin down the street with the drivers door open so the music could be heard in Virginia Beach. Again, not one police car in sight all night. If you want to see the animals on vacation, its safer to go to the local zoo. At least there, the animals are in control. As far as the stay here, its ok. If you can take the sounds of a racetrack all hours of the night, its a decent place. You want peace and quiet? Not happening.... Follow up: it has come to my attention that there happens to be a Mustang car rally this weekend. This is the reason for the noise. Still not enjoyable however, it is understandable. Nice stay here, just not during the annual Mustang Rally. read more

Condo 553 has a beautiful panoramic oceanfront view, wood ceramic tile floors, granite countertops, large flat screen and beautiful decor. Definitely a great place to enjoy a family vacation. I usually do not resort to writing negative reviews about a business. Especially taking into consideration that most businesses now a days a extremely under staffed , but this one has to be said. My first issue was that the parking lot to this location is not on the premises but instead is 2 blocks over. Thankfully it didn't rain much, to make that much of an issue but my biggest issue was the fact that the only real amenities where the pools/lazy river and they looked absolutely disgusting. Both of the jacuzzis where drained on the second day of our trip, but was not scrubbed so the filth was still there to some degree. At our arrival we had to sweep the floors because the housekeeping really was not up to par...AT ALL. We made the best of ot because it was our son's birthday getaway and we really worked hard to make this trip happen but I would advise anyone to check, check and triple check these resorts/hotels and all of the reviews. I didn't choose to do this to bash the business but more so to let these businesses know that we as consumers deserve more for the over $600 m's spent for a 4 day/3 night stay. The customer service was ok but could also use some assistance. The two desk clerks that I encountered during are stay seemed nice but definitely overworked. 1 of the two elevators where down for a day and beyond that nothing really amazing about this location. I wish I could say better things but honestly I can not. I also need to mention that the tub was also backed up as well. Will not stay here again. Nor do I recommend it to anyone else. So this was the first time staying at this hotel and I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised: some of the reviews on here seem really harsh now in retrospect and having spent a week here, I would say that our experience was good to really good. If I had to pick a number between 1 and 10, 10 being the best, I would say it was a solid 7. Pros: -The girl working the front desk named Kena was absolutely a breath of fresh air. She was really sweet and helpful and always smiling. -the room we got was in the bigger tower. room 555, the room was spacious, clean, and had a gorgeous view of the beach! It even had a washer/dryer...We got an oceanfront room and it was well worth it! -this hotel was pretty cheap considering some others in the area -the location was excellent, we loved that we were able to pretty much walk everywhere: we were close to the boardwalk, the pier, arcades, shops, restaurants and bars -we loved floating in the lazy river everyday -every place in the hotel smelled nice. I guess they use air fresheners everywhere -it was good to have free wifi although it was a bit spotty sometimes -the housekeeping staff were all nice and trustworthy which is huge -furniture was comfortable and clean -water pressure in the shower was excellent -big spacious balcony facing the ocean and we spent a lot of time on it :) Cons: -the parking lot was really weird. There were two lots and you had to walk through some other hotel's lot right across the street to get to the atlantica one. And this was really weird because there were barely any cars parked in there it seemed like a waste of space. These lots for atlantica were not as hard to get to or as shady as some other places so I don't want to complain too much -I really wish the tower we stayed in had an actual pool. The other tower's pool looked okay but small and it didn't look great enough to make the trip down there. -the beds were slightly hard and kinda small for a queen but we slept well and got used to it. We sleep in a king at home so i recognize that it can be hard to downsize! Overall we had a great time here and an awesome vacation. I would definitely consider staying here again! read more

This is my families' 5th year coming to Atlantica Resort. The last 4 years we always had a great room and had good times. Never had a problem requesting and getting the room we always needed (king deluxe room, corner unit). We usually stay on the right side of the hotel (when facing hotel), between the 3rd and 5th floors, one room has 1 king size bed and 2 full size beds in 2nd room. This year not so much. We reserved a KING DELUXE ROOM in February 2017 and made a deposit to hold the reservation for the 4th of July week. In June 2017 we paid the reservation in full (almost $2K). We had 4 adults and 2 children for this trip. On Sunday (July 2nd) and an hour before arriving we called to request if they can give us a corner unit and we were assured that was what we were getting. When we get to Room #151 (left side of hotel, 1st floor), we were given an end unit, with 1 FULL SIZE BED in each room, and it was small compared to past rentals. Note that we paid for a king deluxe unit price. When my husband went downstairs to speak with front desk he was told there were no other units available and that we had changed our reservation information to a queen deluxe room when we paid in full in June. We didn't. He was told that there were no differences in the price for the rooms, and that we could get a refund, but that it will take 3 business days before we see it in our bank account. It would have been fine if we actually had Queen size beds, but they were full size beds. The front desk insists we have a queen deluxe room. We didn't, and I'm pretty sure there is a big price difference between what we paid for and what we ended up with. NOTE: while my husband was arguing with front desk, there were several couples who were having the same issues we had in the lobby. They didn't get what they paid for also. On Monday my husband went back to front desk and he was told again that we were the ones who changed the reservation and that we needed to prove that we reserved it as a King Deluxe room. Then they would entertain maybe reviewing the account to see if we were entitled to any adjustments and/or partial refund. I was able to find the original email from February that shows we reserved a King Deluxe room and they said that the hotel manager would review the account. We finally got a phone call from someone around 9 pm letting us know that they were giving us a refund of $150, which is the price difference between a king and queen deluxe. WE DID NOT GET A QUEEN DELUXE ROOM IF OUR BEDS WERE FULL SIZE BEDS. NOTE: on this day we had no hot water for the showers and it was not repaired until late afternoon. We also had to reset our room keys because it wouldn't open our hotel door for the rest of our stay. The hotel advertises that they provide the pots and pans, etc. But from past experiences with this hotel, I knew to pack my own pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc., because if I don't I'll end up having to buy it. This hotel room only had 1 pot! What was I supposed to do with that??? Wednesday was uneventful, except having to get the hotel room keys reset again. I asked the front desk why this was happening and she asked if we were supposed to have checked out on Wednesday, and I told her our check out day was Friday. She couldn't give me an intelligent answer. Thursday was the best day we had. Why you ask? Because our A\C unit died around 8 am and front desk said that the maintenance guy would come up soon to fix it. We couldn't stay in the room because it was hotter in there than outside. So we went shopping instead. Got back to the hotel room around 2 pm to find out it was still too hot to be in there and that no one has come to fix it. Complained to front desk again and was reassured that it would be worked on immediately. We ended up staying at the pool for the rest of the day, and was finally told around 8 pm that the A\C was fixed but it will take another hour to cool the room off. Needless to say we paid for a room for the day that we couldn't stay in. Friday, we gladly checked out of this hell hole and promised never to return to it. Worst customer service, and worst vacation experience ever. I highly recommend that you think twice about Atlantica Resort. Find somewhere else to stay instead and get the room you paid for. NOTE: The hotel no longer has access to the huge parking lot in front of their building. You have to park beyond that lot, and you will fight for an open space because it's very limited, and make the trek to the hotel instead. We booked through booking.com and we had to get another room in another hotel. You know they didn't clean the room because it was clothes left in there from when someone stayed before us. They ask for a damage fee hell they should have paid us for all we went through. They gave us nothing but a run around when we asked for a refund because who wants to stay in a room with roaches and mold. Whatever you do don't stay there I would rather sleep in my car. Ehhhh, We had many issues the 4 days we stayed. Room wasn't ready when attempted to check in a hour early because we came from out of town, totally fine. We killed a hour or so. The room still wasn't ready at time of normal check in with attitude given when asked for an ETA. Then upon arrival, everything was dirty. Shower hadn't been cleaned, dirty sheets (visible), remotes/most lamps, fridge, nothing worked. We called the front desk, we were hung up on 3 times, ok you're busy we get it. Our maintenance guy, Tom, was super nice and helpful. Very friendly and apologetic. He helped us a lot! However, 3 days in we finally asked for fresh towels and toilet paper, because none had been given. We got attitude and when we came back, they had been tossed in our hallway of our room on the floor. ROACHES EVERYWHERE. Pool. Rooms. Elevator. I'm not talking tiny little things that came from food being left out or something, I mean HUGE. Definitely not worth the money we spent at all. Pools sucked. The lazy river had actual hotdogs floating in it for two days (lol not kidding) lazy river tubes were all deflated or missing and then staff told us we couldn't come to the desk to tell them about it because we had a bathing suit on...at the pool/beach. They only have a 1ft pool outside and the lazy river, the inside pool is ok. Hot tub was closed. Hospitality goes a LONG way, we're not snooty people so when things like this happen we get it, however the customer service would've been better when we reported all the issues I think we would've had a better experience. This place has a lot of potential but I think management needs to address staff and major issues going on. read more

We stayed 1 week at atlantica2. The only thing didnt like was that the outdoor pool was at the atlantica 1 which for me and my wife was to far to walk. We loved everything else. It was clean, all of the staff were very friendly. Parking wasnt the greatest but I just let everyone out and went to park. I wish it had a snack bar or something onsight. We would stay there again , no problem. read more

This would have to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in.....this hotel is very outdated an not well kept me an my family stayed here for new years an it started like this the rooms where nasty stains all over the floors pull out bed had red stains on them an the bathroom the kids where scared to shower in it the walls are nasty washing machine dosent work an they dont give you clean towels without a $25 charge so when i asked for towels they told me i have to call at 8 in the morning because no one here after 12 i will never stay here again an do not recommend this hotel for anyone i gave it 1 star only because its nothing less read more

They are lucky that we are required to enter at least one star!!! The pictures are very deceiving. The halls will give you motel vibes, from the horrible smells and the amount of dead cockroaches. We arrived a little prior to 4 to check in and was not able to get into our room until almost 630 and the only answer every time we asked for an update was they had to inspect the rooms. The reps at the front desk are very rude and short as of it is the customers fault they are behind. At booking we was told each person registered would receive tickets to attractions but when we asked for our tickets at the front desk, the lady was very short and handed me one slip of paper and said one per reservation. Limited rolls of tissue and towels is insane to me. The hot tub looked like it had shit in it and when it was drained it was a foul sewer smell entering our room through the patio. Our dishwasher also had a foul sewer smell. (HOA did come and take a look and luckily he was a nice man). No housekeeping after 5. And the biggest NO's of all is the dead cockroach in the dryer getting all in our clothes causing us to have to thoroughly clean the dryer before we could go any further and the fact that 2 of us woke up to a big ass cockroach in the bed! They say an inspection was done 8/2021 but there is no way in hell! We made the best of the trip but would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy! read more

One of the worst places I've ever stayed in. We stayed in their second building, not where the office is. It was bad from our first experience. First we waited at least 15 minutes for the elevator. When it finally came down we realized it was because the cleaning dude was collecting all the trash, and not in any bin or anything. Then when getting off, he slung them out the elevator right beside me. The whole time there was a foul odor in the hall. The beds were hard as rocks. We ending up sleeping on the pull out bed. Then on our last night, we got off the elevator, it smelled terrible in the hallway. We saw there was a giant trash bag sitting right outside our door. I was frustrated, but what's worse is it was still sitting there the next morning when we left. The only good thing was it was right on the beach. 2 coffee pots~neither worked Couldn't pay me to stay here again. read more

Please do yourself a favor and pay $15-$20 more! this place is absolutely filthy! We came in for jeep jam and rented through Air bnb and Coastline Rentals. the room had dead roaches, bubblegum stuck to the floor, kitchen was nasty! the mold growing on the vents and sliding door to the patio was awful. it was nowhere we wanted our kids to stay. the pictures on the internet showed a kitchen table with chairs it wasn't there. the dust was at least 1/2 inch thick throughout. I called the rental office and asked to be moved. they had the audacity to asked me to pay $110 more and not look at the new unit until after paying. we called down the road to compass cove paid $15 more and the condo was immaculate! it was clean well stocked and the office was super nice! never again will I use air bnb coastline rentals or Atlantica! they sent me an email and was going to charge me $195 for cleaning! we moved the covers on the bed searching for bedbugs. my reply was it would take more than $195 to clean that uni. as nasty as it was it would take 2-3 people working a good 10 hrs. it was GROSS! unit 1101 don't waste your time! read more

I'm going to post this review twice, once here and also under the hotel I actually booked. I booked a hotel for Palmetto Shores but upon checking in realized I was in Atlantica (two condo towers sandwiching Palmetto Shores). I write it twice, not because it really matters which building you're ultimately in, but to ensure you don't book a reservation at either.... What I've read about Palmetto Shores turned out to be true - you get what you pay for. I was looking for a cheap place to stay with my buds and found a great rate ($79) for a two bedroom oceanfront condo on a weekend in September. We got there and the check-in took forever, even with three people working the desk. I swear it actually took us 10 minutes to check in ourselves once we got to the desk attendant. Okay, big deal, slow check-in. So we're told we're in the Atlantica building next door so we walk over and wait, yet again, for the ONE elevator for the 12 or 13 floors. There was always a wait for this elevator. Once getting to the room the door wouldn't open with our key. Back down to the desk and the response "it should work." Duh. Green light but no workie. So here we go back with maintenance and he finally gets the door to open. Okay, so maybe we were tired after a long drive and day at work, just took a bit longer than we'd hoped to get in our room. We turn the corner into bedroom number one and witnessed the scene of a construction disaster. Mirror off the wall, wallpaper half painted over with fresh white paint, no covers on outlets, no lampshade, dresser moved into middle of the room, bed half made, bathroom floor & tub dirty, duck tape on the shower with the word "MOLD" written on it....need I go on? The maintenance guy, bless his off-work soul, put the room back together and on we went. WHY we didn't say something immediately, I do not know. Well, I do know, we were super tired and just said, "they are completely 100% booked and turning people away and we got what we paid for." We continued to find goodies in the room through the weekend...like a maxi pad behind the nightstand. Oh yes. The other room was okay but didn't have two twins as promised, actually it did but it was pushed together and made up into a queen. The rest of the place was just dated. Old appliances, old televisions (and brands I've never heard of - "ilo" really?) Each room had a television but I would have rather had one that actually looked good. I watched a football game saturday with 1/3 of the screen - the screen had three inches of green haze on each side. There was dust on the popcorn ceiling from the air condition vents, sticky (yes!) floors, and a dirty ice maker so clearly the place hadn't been properly cleaned in awhile. So then we decided to stay an extra night and went to discuss our options with the front desk. After detailing all of this they weren't willing to do ANYTHING for us. Sorry, I take that back, they agreed to give us the rate we found on the internet since they didn't show that rate on their site. Well, how nice. Then they "regretted to inform us that we wouldn't be able to stay in the same room." Well...wow...now we're getting somewhere. Anyway, we didn't stay there as they wouldn't work with us. It was a Sunday night so they weren't booked at all. We left there and stayed at the Sheraton Convention center for 1/2 the price...coincidentally, what a great hotel. Whatever you do, Atlantica/Palmetto Shores, be careful. You get what you pay for...and in some cases more than you bargained for! read more

I'll admit, when I was invited to Myrtle Beach by my sister as her guest to a beach wedding in October I was less than thrilled. I was born and raised in South Carolina and I've visited Myrtle Beach basically every summer since I was in the womb. To me, it's a gross tourist "hot spot" and the beaches are less than par. I prefer the crystal clear waters and white sand beaches of places such as Jamaica, Antigua, and Barbados. If you play your cards right and shop around, you can get a tropical vacation for the price of a Dirty Myrtle one. All of the ranting of the location is beside the point, my sister took care of the accomidations since I was her guest. I assumed it would be another run-down cheezy Myrtle Beach hotel. Boy was I wrong. This place is a huge tower and it just reminds me of a hotel you'd see in Miami. It's not painted obnoxiously like the other hotels on the "strip." We got into our rooms and we were absolutely blown away! She booked just a standard room (just a place to sleep and wash... around $60/night) and we had somehow been given an enormous suite. It had everything you could imagine, and the view was spectacular! We enjoyed the room so much that we even stayed an extra night. The staff was super nice and every morning we got a free breakfast at the pancake house across the street. I highly reccomend this place, and if for some reason I ever return to Myrtle Beach I will be staying here! read more

This hotel was not accommodating to me and my family this past weekend our stay was for 3 nights we had two of their 2 bedroom condos units 656 &657 they were very dirty upon arrival old food left in the fridges and stove. These units were roach infested , toilets dirty , we received no housekeeping services the entire stay, the desk clerk was notified on a daily basis of our needs just to basically clean these units for us .The clerk stated to me she would see if she could refund us at least 4 one of our units.
