John Deere zero turn (one year old and 6.5 hours of use) had a fuel issue. Picked up by Atlantic Tractor in Finksburg, MD. Fuel flush and new fuel filter (with transport and diag) came to over $600. Got it back and it was no different than when they picked it up. Called to have it picked up again and they replaced the carb. Added about $900 MORE to the total cost. Extremely difficulty to contact the business during the process. Looked up parts online and *retail* total would have been under $400 so over $1300 for basic service and transport? After I was looking around a bit with no pressure, Dale Jones asked if there was anything he could help with. Dale got me a set of keys and let me check everything out as long as I wanted to with zero pressure or interference. Dale was also Awesome while I was getting my financing in place and always stuck to his word in the whole transaction. I bought my John Deere Zero Turn from Atlantic Tractor, in Clayton Delaware, last summer, summer of 2023. Within a year, I had a fuel problem. Dirty fuel, so I can't blame the tractor. So I brought it to Atlantic Tractor to be fixed. I expected to pay for the repair, but what I didn't expect was the astronomical bill. Over $870. And more than half of it was for diagnostic and labor. Needless to say, I was very upset at the high bill. I paid it, because I really didn't have a choice. However, I'm letting people know beware of the high cost of repairs at Atlantic Tractor. In the future if I have any repairs that need to be done, I will look elsewhere unless it's covered by warranty. read more

Took my john deere D130 in for service, to have it serviced for the upcoming summer cutting season. Well alittle over two weeks went by and no call or nothing! For the next week following, left countless messages on there voice mail. Due to the fact that no one would never answere the service dept phone line. Finally I called and got someone from service. After me tell him my name and the type of riding mower I have there, he tells me ! I was just about to call you with the estimate for the service of your riding mower. Let me call you back in 1hr, just finishing up the price! To my surprise, it took three more day's for him to call me! And from there it just kept getting worst with the service! Scheduled routine maintenance on brand new tractor. We never recieved a confirmation the day before of service, as was instructed by Kim L. When technicians finally came out to work on tractor. I contacted Kim because #1 the techs left my tractor with keys in the ignition on my front lawn and didn't say a word. Just left. #2 When I looked down at the deck I noticed it looked like it hadn't been cleaned with a air hose. Kim asked me to send her photos of what I was seeing. After Kim received the photos she told me that the service was not completed properly. And that she would make the techs come back to finish the job. She then told me that these were not her normal techs, and that her tech was sick and didn't want to further postpone the service so she sent these guys. I explained to her that I preferred her normal tech to come out on a later date to complete the job as to not complicate the matter and further escalate the situation. Which she agreed was a good idea. I'm not sure why they have anyone working for them that isn't trained in the services they claim to offer. On Jan 5th which was the date my tractor was to be serviced for the second time. I called Kim because my tractor was buried under 12inches of snow and ice from the storm the previous nights. And there was no way to get it out of the shed. And Kim said no problem. Let's wait a week or 2 till we can get it out of the shed to be serviced. A day or 2 later I contacted Kim once more because I noticed my checking account had been charged for services not rendered. Kim then got very defensive and started to lie, saying that the job had been completed. When it clearly hadnt. And just weeks before she agreed that the job was not done properly by her techs. This company is very dishonest and I would not let them near any equipment if you value your property. They are not to be trusted and after reading some of their other reviews I feel foolish for having employed them for these services. I am now having to find myself another company to help me with the routine maintenance of my tractor.. and question if they completed any of the services that they said were done. I would like to have given them 5 stars, but there are some things that I think should be improved. Improve customer service by not typing subjective review IN CAPS. When picking up a customer's tractor for service, provide the customer with a receipt. And when returning the customer's tractor, provide the customer with a timetable so that they're available to secure it in lieu of it left outside unattended. read more

Newark, DE location. Purchased through Lowe's, assembled by AT. With only 4.2 hours of usage the drive belt breaks. I understand that this can be normal with the E130? I would've done it myself but, I wasn't gonna pay for the part. Thank goodness I paid for the extended warranty, something I rarely do. Saved $150 in pick up and return fees. It took two weeks to get it back! We visited the dealership first but didn't get much attention and everything had to be ordered. Can't help that Lowe's saved me $200 with my discount. They're getting one star because I haven't started it or had the chance to use it yet. I'm hoping that there's another place available for maintenance upkeep. Simply awful. If you're thinking of only buying at MSRP and no real salesmanship, then this place is for you. I stopped in one day and was serious about buying, I had $15K approved JD Credit and was looking to walk out with a riding mower deal. Not only was their stock terrible, I was told it would take a "couple of days" to get one I wanted if I ordered today from one of their other locations. With email solicitation from this location and the salesman's (J H are his initials..) return email response of "Let me know what I can do to earn your business" and non-returned emails, you really have no choice. If you don't see it on JD's website, it's not an option here or they just need someone that knows how to sell. The service today was the Absolute Worst I went to get new blades for my lawn tractor. One of the old blades in hand and serial number of the mower deck. Typically deal with a very professional lady there that grabs my blade and returns with my new set.. no problems and all is good... Today I had the great disappointment of having to deal with an older gentleman who first off started with a Cant help You unless you know the tractor model??? Well mr expert John Deere puts different mower decks on a variety of lawn tractors....but he has the POWER I called my wife to get the tractor model and serial number... After which the Dude asks what size mower deck??? Duh my first thought was " you just said you had to have the tractor model now you shift gears? " gave him the deck serial number and he said he couldn't do anything with that... Guess what I came home frustrated with this unprofessional attitude, put the serial number of the deck on the internet and got the blade size and ordering options ... I hope there's brick and motor box sales places realize that is why the likes of Amazon is putting them out of business... Beware the Repair.... I took my JD Zero Radius mower in for a repair estimate. It was smoking and losing power. When I called back to find out the status, they indicated it could be anything from a head gasket to a complete rebuild, costing up to $950. They could not get more specific, (even sharing their experience with failures with the model history) This the the price of a new engine and easily over half of the remaining value of the mower. I was about to buy a new one, they said they would accept the old one at no cost to me, when a friend convinced me to try and fix it ourselves. It turned out to be a $10 head gasket. We replaced it and it runs like a top. I have no respect for this business and would not trust them to help make rational choices. read more

Review for Atlantic Tractor: I so rarely write bad reviews but felt it would be a public service announcement and warning in this case. Our John Deere started sputtering and we needed it fixed. We live in Queenstown. Instead of sending someone from their closest location, Atlantic Tractor sent someone from the Chestertown location to pick up and diagnose the problem. They then said the price to fix the problem was $7,000 to $9,000!!! Yep - you read that right! When we said "no thanks", we were charged $459 for the privilege of dealing with them. We had Wayne at Ridgeway Mowers (used him when we lived in Ellicott City) take a look. Turns out it was a fuel pump issue and he fixed the mower for $297. Yep- you read that right! This the worst place to go to buy anything. Iv witness the most greedy lying business tactics by the service or sales department. I had been coming there for 10 years. I sent a very good friend of mine to buy a stihl chainsaw. They prepped it wrong and the saw never got pass the 1st tank of gas that they put in it. He took the saw back as soon as it stop working they told him that it was goin to cost 400 dollars to fix and that stihl wouldn't fix it under warranty. The truth was that stihl did ok the cost of the repair and they stood to make anouther 400 on top of stihls warranty if my friend agreed. This is borderline fraud and in my opinion was borderline racist because my friend was a man of color they thought he wouldn't know anything about anything. We end up taking it to a place that stihl said had a much much better service department. In the end they gave us a brand new saw and apologized for the ugliness that he had to endured at Atlantic Tractor. I will never go there for any thing again, And I advise anyone and everyone eles not to go there either. Terrible business practices!!! read more

We are giving 2 stars to this dealer because the secretary was very pleasant and kind. If it weren't for her being so polite, we may have considered giving a one star. The day my husband ordered his tractor he was very excited and wanted it asap. We were told the next delivery day was the following Thursday, which we were not thrilled with, but we accepted it. Meanwhile we took Dave Poutre's word that the tractor was being delivered on that following Thursday. My husband subsequently took off an entire days work to be home for the delivery. He even called Wednesday evening around 4:00 pm to confirm the delivery and got no return call. Thursday morning my husband called again to see if the tractor was coming. He was reassured that Dave's service manager would be delivering our tractor personally. Sadly, Thursday came and went with no phone call. My husband lost $500 in overtime to sit home waiting on a tractor that never came. In addition, our business was not appreciated enough for Atlantic Tractor to call us and communicate what was wrong and why our tractor did not come. After complaining and standing his ground my husband was given a free brush guard. Dave apologized and said he would get the brush guard by Saturday, come to our house, and put it on. Again, Saturday came and went with no brush guard and no phone call from Dave. My husband called Monday and Dave stated that the brush guard still never arrived, but it will be in Tuesday. Tuesday came and went with no Dave and no phone call. My husband was finally fed up by Wednesday. Dave had said he was coming Tuesday, and when my husband finally went to Atlantic Tractor to get the brush guard Dave acted like it just arrived in the mail. We know better. The box was wet and the instructions on the inside were so wet that my husband had to go online to find directions. It was obvious to us that either the delivery man had no roof on his vehicle the day before when it rained or else Dave carried the part around for 24 hours in a truck bed. We do not recommend Cecil County residents going to this dealer because it's closer. That's how we ended up there, and we regret it. When our tractor finally came we believe it may have been the manager. He was very nice and friendly. But due to lack of communication and feeling disrespected we will not go back to this dealer to purchase anything new. If you are in Cecil County try the Cecilton location or drive to Oxford. Both have higher ratings and now we see why. read more

Spent over $250 with them to fix a JD edger. Edger was running rough due to stale gas. After repair still ran rough under load. Returned it and was told it was due to rusty gas tank. Could not be fixed due to unavailability of part. Went to another JD repair shop and they were able to fix it by rebuilding carb and cleaning gas tank - runs great now. The good shop told me based on what they saw, Atlantic tractor didn't even remove the carb to look at it. Good shop (Foulklawn and Garden) charged less to get it working than Atlantic charged to tell me it couldn't be fixed. This was my second bad experience with Atlantic tractor - my bad for going back to them read more

Darn. I wish I had read the reviews on here first before buying our JD tractor. They are horrible. The sales process was great (isn't it always?) We got our tractor and used it for the first time. After less than 15 minutes the belt fell off! Literally FELL OFF. We called, and they told us to bring it in. Unfortunately, we had moved 45 minutes away and explained why we couldn't bring it in. They refused to come to us, refused to pay for a local shop to fix the issue*, and rudely hung up the phone on us when we called to talk to them about reimbursement. *Note: the issue, as confirmed by the local shop was that their technician installed the belt improperly.
