Ron called me beforehand to make sure I was available for the service. He was a very impressive technician, courteous, nice, kind and professional and came the next day after calling him to attend to my septic needs. I want the owner to know that Mr. Hess is an asset to your company. If you need any septic services please call this company. I give Ron Hess on a scale of 5, a 10 plus, plus. Thank you so much for a great job!!! Ms. Rachel Conner Watson New Church, Virginia

This company is owned by a man named Donovan and professionally run by the one and only man who basically is the company, Ron. This is the second time I've had my septic tank pumped out and Ron at Shore Septic did the job both times. Ron is the most professional, knowledgeable and awesome guy with an incredible memory! He is clean and nicely dressed in tan shorts and matching shirt, and takes extra care in handling the aspects of the job. Ron was careful in digging the ground up to reveal the lid, and upon completion, every bit of dirt was placed back and tamped down, it will never be evident the ground was disturbed once the grass grows back over the square area. That was impressive and greatly appreciated. Ron spoke of a product called Septic Aid made by Environmental Biotech Intl and I was pleased he suggested this, as he is very educated on this product. Ron explained how this could improve my septic system, so one bottle went into the tank, and I bought a second bottle from him to use monthly to maintain the proper bacteria to improve flow. He offered a case of this product, and I'm positive I'll be texting him to get two more bottles of it soon. Overall, Ron at Shore Septic 757-710-1040, and 757-990-2269 is the only guy I'll trust now since both times he serviced my home septic, it was the most professional experience. My plan is to recommend him to my neighbors and friends. Thanks Ron for all that you do!

Never have I written a bad review, I usually chalk it up to a lesson learned and I avoid them. This time I really want to warn others. They were hired for a simple septic pump and inspection at the request of a prospective buyer. I chose them based on the reviews and unfortunately they failed me this time around. Initially they seemed wonderful, quick to respond, scheduled to come out at the end of December and all appeared to go well. We paid within an hour or two of having the service done. All seemed great, and the buyer was asking to see the septic report, as anyone would. I called, requested the report...nothing came. I called again, emailed, etc. and was assured it was coming. This went on for two months after repeated attempts and finally I just get a simple receipt with "Passed" on it. I sent that to the buyer who thankfully at the time hadn't found another place yet. 3 Months since the initial pump/inspection, and the we're in the Home Inspection phase. Even as a seller, this home inspection company was amazing, more thorough than any company I have used for myself. They dug up the holding tank, distribution box and scoped the drain pipes. First, 2 Kuz didn't even pump out the sludge, there was still 2 feet in there...no one was living at the home in those months, so this wasn't after the pump. Second, the distribution box was crumbling. Third, 2 of the 4 drain pipes had roots and were not taking water. Needless to say, due to the time passed trying to get the report, the buyer backed out since it would take too long to get the septic replaced for them and they were short on time now. Had we had a proper inspection done, we could have scheduled the replacement in time, buyer would have been happy and we would have sold the property. This was all to sell my parents house to provide funding for my mom's care, after we lost our father earlier in the year. So we are currently in the process of getting the septic replaced so we can try again. This company can't even do the simple, fundamental process of pumping out the holding tank, let alone a proper inspection or even getting people a receipt and report. Let alone the audacity of demanding same day payment. I contacted them afterward to ask for half a refund (though honestly they should do a full refund) for half the job they did. Their negligence almost certainly cost us the sale of the house. The only shining star in this is we didn't hire them to replace the septic system, lord only knows how that would have turned out. After speaking with several people in and around this business, this company is well known for this type of shoddy work. Unless your septic is backing up into the house, I can't recommend enough to avoid at all costs. Even then, get them to pump (half a tank apparently), then hire a real company.
