April at the front desk is amazing! Super friendly & helpful…read more Room was clean, for the time I was in there, it was quiet, but there again, it was mid-afternoon. Location was perfect! Comfy bed & pillows. And the view from the window was wonderful! The bad side - the several hours I was there, it was 84 degrees the entire time. I realize I was in the next to the top floor & science tells us that heat rises. The thermostat would only go down to 65, no more. Due to my plans changing & me being able to stay with a friend at a nearby hotel, I didn't bring it up to the front desk, but had I stayed the night, I definitely would have. I do recommend this location, but doubt I'll be back in AC for anything.

They came from New York…read moreCity by bus to attend a concert they'd been looking forward to for a long time, but their experience at the Marriott completely ruined the trip. For the entire weekend -- from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning -- there was no hot water. They weren't able to shower at all. That's not just uncomfortable, it's unsanitary, especially when you're far from home with no easy way to leave. The hallways were hot and super humid, and the air quality was awful. On top of that, a power outlet in their room didn't even work, and the scariest part -- there was brown, sticky condensation (they described it smelling like old cigarettes) dripping onto their bedsheets and phone charger. That could've caused a fire. They told the hotel staff more than once, but no one seemed to care. No real response. No solution. Not even an apology. It's frustrating and honestly upsetting to know my family was stuck in that situation and felt ignored. They were excited for a fun weekend and ended up stuck in an uncomfortable, potentially unsafe room, with no hot water, and no support from the hotel. Very disappointed in Marriott for allowing this kind of thing to happen. I expected better from such a big name.

I saw the Totally Tubular festival, which was a variety show of several 80s bands. (The original acts, not cover bands.) The venue is located inside the Ocean Casino Resort. Ovation Hall is medium sized--definitely not intimate, but also nothing like a true arena. Acoustics were pretty good, and there are giant TVs on each side of the stage to see closeups of the performers. Overall the show went smoothly, with only one or two minor technical glitches, which seemed pretty good for the first night of a showcase tour. A friend and I sat on the side of the venue and still had a clear view. I thought it was worth it for $50 tickets (per person). This was a winter show, so none of the summertime beach traffic. The casino was busy but not overwhelmingly so. It was pretty easy to find parking and locate the venue inside. (Also it's not very smoky inside.) There are drinks available in Ovation Hall itself as well as small snacks. You can get more substantial food outside in the casino. Overall, I had a good experience at Ovation Hall, and I'll keep it on my radar for future shows.

I thought that I was doing a good thing by buying aisle, second row seats using the artist presale code. My view was partially obstructed all night, with no ability of the band to migrate out that far left. Adding to that frustration was being right up against the audio stacks on the left, and they were obviously wireless because the sound kept dropping out like you were watching a movie and it was buffering. Speaking of buffering, the video screens behind the stage were lagging by a full second. I attempted to capture how bad the view and sound was in the attached images and video. Worst venue ever.

It was cute a lot of local businesses decorated trees, and they looked so pretty lined up. I wished it was a bit better promoted than one boardwalk champion because it was pretty and festive. While I was there, I read some of the signs about the town's history. There were some great vintage signs and photos and a Mr. Peanut costume. Even if you are not here for an event, it's an informative little museum inside that's worth a few minutes of your time.

The tickets RJ purchased were front row in our section, but with "limited view" which was described as "possible infrastructure or lighting". We thought oh no big deal, maybe some sound equipment or a railing. Ok, these should have been sold as completely obstructed view. An employee from down below handed new tickets to RJ after the concert started if we wanted to move. But the row is so small and tight, I am 5 ft tall and had no leg room. We were all jammed against the railing. We thought that was nice but wished it had happened before the concert started, or that she came to the row and got us out rather than handing them up to us. No way was I going to try to get out by making 12-14 people move 1 song into the concert. So we only know they were higher up, but did not use them. At least I could see if I leaned to the left, but RJ looked at the back of this camera man all night!
