I recently came to "sketch", one of the venues at central pier run by the Atlantic group. The reason for a visit was a wedding and to be honest, I couldn't be more impressed.
The entree was a tortellini filled with goats cheese and surrounded by a beef consommé. It was fresh, delicate and very tasty.
The main was chicken sitting on a bed of risotto. I did think the risotto was slightly under cooked, but that is down to personal taste.
Dessert was a plethora of choice, done in a "roaming" fashion. Small serves were distributed across the room like a canapé service. This was a great idea and I one that I would replicate at my own parties in the future.
There were a number of other dishes available on the night which I didn't try, but all reports suggest they were excellent.
Of course... What is available is entirely up to your hosts, so your experiences will not be same each time you go there.

On top of that, it has great views of the bay, in particular the Bolte Bridge lit up at night.
I can only imagine that this venue would be too expensive for a lot of people's weddings, but it shows that 'You get what you pay for' read more
