AUGUST 2023 UPDATE: 6 YEARS ago I had such a terrible experience I wrote a scathing but honest review. Last week, my dishwasher broke. A neighbor recommended Atlantic Coast. Seeing now their dramatically improved ratings, I thought it was fair to extend a do-over and then hopefully report back with a positive update. I called and scheduled a repair appointment. Instead, I got a call saying I've been forever blacklisted and they would not come. I respect this is their right, of course, as spiteful as it may be. So, here's my update and, again, YOU decide if you want to deal with a vindictive business which is more determined to hold a grudge than accept an opportunity to prove a past experience was out-of-the-ordinary, that maybe they've resolved any underlying problems from six years ago, and maybe there's no longer a good reason YOU really should choose somebody else. read more

If you have had the displeasure of having an appliance on the fritz- you know that repairs can be as costly or more costly than replacing the machine. Combine that with trying to find a reasonable price to even have a tech walk in your house and you may land on Atlantic Coast Appliance. If we went through our brand dishwasher the cost for a tech to walk through the door would have been $40 more. Our tech called us 30 minutes before arriving and was in our kitchen for about 20 minutes. John had already researched and tried to get the machine going via numerous different YouTube videos to no avail. The most common reason for the untimely death? Control panel dying and/or motherboard failure. Turns out both are crapping the bed on ours and there is no telling how long the machine can hold out. He got it working and advised us it could last 5 minutes or another year. We could buy an appliance through them and the cost of the tech coming out would be removed from the cost of the machine. We shopped around and bought elsewhere- but I asked questions about what brand was the tech's favorite and what he would steer clear of. He owns a Bosch and had a couple brands he preferred. We are a couple days past and our dishwasher like to randomly sound off the starting sound- with no one actually starting the machine. I am happy we have a new one ordered- hopefully it can hang on for a couple of weeks! read more

I highly recommend Atlantic Coast Appliance. I have a refrigerator that is 25 to 30 years old. I had spoken with another appliance company and they told me over the phone they couldn't repair it. Atlantic Coast appliances has three locations. They are not just in Atlantic Beach but they are also located on Phillips Highway and an orange park, I'm just saying that so you don't think that you can access the service. Anyway, the service man came over to my house this week on Monday was able to diagnose what was wrong with it. In a matter of moments, he went online and ordered the part, the other repair company had said it was the compressor and that was not it. It was the wire to the heater in the refrigerator that had broken and was not working too cool and melt the ice in the refrigerator. Amazing so the repair person his name is Jordan Buck came back today with the part, and in about 15 minutes he had the part installed and my refrigerator is now working very well. I'm really happy with the quality of their service. They do other repairs as well. I have an old washing machine that I'm going to have them look at at some point, and I also have a freezer that I will have them look at as well and diagnosed to make sure that everything is OK, I'm so glad for the work they did and that I can continue to use my refrigerator because the new ones only last 7 to 10 years. I did not want a digital refrigerator because there's more that can go wrong with it so in the future, if you're refrigerator shopping, try to see if you can find a manual refrigerator that you can control with a dial, I learned a lot from the people who work at Atlantic Coast Appliance especially Jordan Buck. I'm thrilled to have my refrigerator back and the cost was manageable compared to buying $1000 refrigerator. The cost was about half the price of getting a new one so friends and new friends this company is really, excellent. read more

Our dryer was working but did not generate heat. Jason quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the needed part (which thankfully was in inventory on the truck) and had our dryer working in a minimal amount of time. Very satisfied with the entire process of replacing both a washing machine and a dishwasher, at the same time. Both pieces of equipment stopped functioning just before Thanksgiving--just as we were expecting 20 guests! Atlantic Coast responded quickly to our over-the-weekend call and had a repair guy at the house on Monday. Unfortunately, the required repairs were both expensive and unlikely to extend the life of either machine. We opted to replace both units and again Atlantic Coast was highly responsive--promising to have the two units installed today, Wed Nov 22, --- just before Thanksgiving. Their installer, Dave, arrived as promised, at 9AM and we were up and running again by 10:30. We greatly appreciated the professionalism of everyone we dealt with, the courteous and friendly attitude and willingness to answer our questions. They were both efficient and effective. A little over 2 months ago my husband called to have our washer repaired. It was still working but kept going out of balance. The owner "Billy" came out to our home. He advised us that our washer was basically shot and not worth a repair. It was only 3 years old, but we decided to take his advise and purchase a commercial Speed Queen. He said he just ordered several and they will arrive in about 2 months. He advised we would be ok to keep using the washer...it would still be unbalanced but usable. We took his advice and waited out the 2 months. We called last week and advised they were coming in a few days, and said we could pick it up on Thursday. On Wednesday the office gave a call to my husband stating they don't want to break up a set and they would sell us the washer/dryer set for $3000.00. (The washer was $1500.00). My husband said that we don't need a dryer as it works fine. Billy said he would have to think about it and would call back!!!! Billy never once mentioned it had to be a set. (A last minute decision to make an extra buck instead of going through with the original offer). He also did not discount off the original service fee as promised. It was now Saturday and no word fro Mr Bill! We then decided that we were mislead and to purchase elsewhere. We found the exact model at a larger store and it was less expensive, even after taxes and delivery fees. We always knew we could get the washer elsewhere, cheaper...but my husband was all about helping the little guy ...the small business needed it more than the larger companies. We thought we were helping the little guy... The right thing to do, especially in this economy. Turns out the little guy was not being honest with us. I had an excellent experience from beginning to end. My LG ice maker had gone on the fritz and water was leaking sporadically on my floor. I called Atlantic Coast Appliance and was able to schedule an appointment within a couple of days. (The leaking water was inconvenient but not a crisis.) It should also be noted that I had dismal luck with two other appliance repair businesses: one told me that not only did they not work on LG appliances, but that nobody in town did; the other repair shop was scheduled but ended up being a no-show. Aaron, the tech, was prompt and very knowledgeable. He was able diagnose the problem and order parts for the ice maker within 24 hours of the visit. The parts came in within a week and I was able to schedule the return visit promptly. I felt the charges for parts and labor were very fair, and my ice maker works like a dream. My washer decided to stop working 2 days before leaving on vacation. I called some old standby and they told me they couldn't come out for a week! I called Atlantic coast and they set me up an appointment for the next day. They did warn me that a lot of part are special order and they might now be able to repair it before I left. They gave me a window from 1:00 -5:00. The next day, they called at 12:30 (early!!!) to tell me they were on their way. Eric worked on my machine for almost two hours and he fixed it!!! The cost was much less than I was expecting, the work area was left clean and I was thrilled that I didn't have to spend the night before vacation at the local laundromat! I was told this was a good company, however, Atlantic Coast Appliance has been out 3 times to fix my dishwasher. Eric came out last Friday (8/14/2020) to make a repair, he broke my appliance more. The owner Bill Gray came out Monday (8/17/2020) and tried to fix the repair and after he could not, he then sent Eric back out on the afternoon of 8/17/2020. He still did not fix it. He said he would come out today in the morning. A little after 10am I called ACA and was told "he is not coming back out there". They have charged me and not fixed my dishwasher. I am not a happy camper. Called for repair to dryer. Belt had come off. Tech put it back on and charged $99. Six weeks later the belt fell of again. When I called back for them to come back, the tech wouldn't even come back because he said It must be a manufacturing problem to call frigidair . The appliance is 3 years old and even I know that belts wear out and couldn't that be the problem? I was told my dryer needed to be replaced as the circuit board was bad. After pricing new dryers I looked up how much the part cost - less than $100. Then I watched a youtube video to learn how to replace it. The first thing the video said was to make sure the board was bad as they cannot be returned. So I took the panel off and the belt was off! I put the belt on and my machine has been great since. So that tells me - 1. he didn't take off the panel and 2. he didn't test the circuit board. read more
