From start to finish the process seamless and enjoyable and everyone was so personable. They took the time to break things down for us and answered all questions thoroughly. I loved the office and how welcoming they all were. Our agent was the sweetest woman and was very informative. I though the process was going to be long and horrific, but she had us out of there within a half hour. They were referred to us from USAA, so I am not quite positive who all they work with, but if you are ever referred to them, give them a whirl. They certainly helped us out and made the process all the more easier, and I love my cozy new home :)

Hearing everything in recent years about how much of a nightmare buying a house can be, I was…read morereally apprehensive about how the process would go. Am I ever glad that our Realtor referred us to Tidewater Home Funding. From the first call with our loan officer to get preapproved, we were treated like gold. The process of meeting in person to sign all of the initial loan application paperwork went so smoothly and I felt so reassured about what would happen next and what to expect. Like Nikki's photo suggests, I walked in to a sign on the desk personally welcoming me. I was kept informed throughout the entire process and was never left wondering what was happening at any given point in time. I tried to be really proactive and do my homework about any piece of documentation possible that might be required. Between that and our LO's dilligence, I never had to go back after that first meeting. The day we looked at the house we wanted, our agent suggested a closing date of January 28th and Tidwater Home Funding ensured we met that date. I couldn't believe how the entire thing went off without a single hitch or the constant back and forth that I've heard so many other people describe. I would absolutely recommend THF to anyone considering buying a home. I couldn't be happier with the process and of course, the outcome...our first home.

I Only put a 1 to be able to warn you all what Jim F. The President/Owner of Anchor Tax Relief in…read moreChesapeake, VA did to me. At the time he told me he could help me and communicate to IRS on my behave about my situation so I paid him $750.00 as per his word. Well, he did not help me one bit as promised, he never talked to them, as I had to go somewhere else and pay them too to help me. He refused to give me my money back or any portion of it as I only had a very brief phone call with him maybe 3 minutes to be exact. Not worth $750.00 for 3 minutes of anyone's time. He wouldn't even give me an itemized statement of my money and where and what is what used for I gave him. He gave me no records of my file and what was done. Ya'll need to run somewhere else right now. I feel he took big time advantage of me I'm a retiree senior citizen living on a senior budget and he knew it too. Very surprising to me he could treat me or anyone like this. My opinion he doesn't deserve your business and it's all about the money, well, he'll never get mine or my family & friends and hopefully your's ever again. I'm thankful I have this platform to report the theft I encountered in my situation with Jim F. He never wanted to talk to me about this except to tell me he wasn't giving my money back. Wow so upsetting and disturbing that my retirement monthly pension had to go to him. Shame on you Jim F. You all Please go elsewhere, if he can do this to a Senior citizen with no remorse he can do it to you. Tax season will be here soon. I'd sure go somewhere else. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I try to point out the fraud I got to everyone to help them. Think about it do you really want to support someone like this? It's a big fat NO!!! To me.

Top notch service!…read more I had an exceptional experience with Nevin and C&F Mortgage for the purchase of my second home. With the mortgage crisis several years ago trying to get a loan these days no matter how much money you make or have in investment accounts is a pain in the butt. Throw in the fact that I also work for myself and have this weird way in which income makes it way to my bank account, it would take me months to get a loan through any large institution. What was so great with my experience with C&F is that the underwriters are located in Virginia Beach. I was able to walk in to meet with Nevin, drop off supporting documents and explain such documents like my income, bank statements and profit/loss statements to various people. In other worlds, your information is scanned and some random person 100 or 1000 miles away would review your file and there would be considerable lag into getting things approved. Here I was able to talk it out and someone was able to understand me right away. There was no messenger in my particular experience. All related parties with my loan were courteous, fast to respond and very understanding of my busy schedule. The fact that I was able to speak to someone in the loan approval process directly given my different circumstances made this transaction go over very smoothly. It was 30 days from offer to the seller from when I was able to get into the home. That includes two weeks of waiting on my house to get some minor upgrades from the inspection. Definitely recommended.
