6 months later I still have a deep scar on my back. The Doctor told me "32 times" that the incision would not leave a scar. LIE! Just like when they said I was numb. Why would I have just about jumped off the table?? INCOMPETENT. Not one follow up call. Not a single communication of any kind. Except when I cancelled my appointment, they called. FIRED! Went in for a procedure I had done once before. After watching about 8 other people go in I went up to confirm I had my appointment time right. I had been miss billed and not called to schedule an appointment for the redo for several months so I was concerned. The office manager "Karen" came out to literally just pick a fight with me and didn't want to do my procedure. After finally getting to speak with the Dr. I was able to express my concerns and get the procedure done. I had gone to that office for years and lately been getting excuses for their mistakes. I was not there to beef with Karen. She lacked professionalism and common courtesy. I will probably not go back. read more

After months of going with no resolution to my issue. I decided to go see another dermatologist my issue was resolved in one visit. The PA at Atlanta West Dermatology did not listen to me and dismissed my my pain and discomfort. I don't like writing bad reviews. They really need to do better and listen to the paitent. read more

I wanted to wait to write this update - make sure I gave myself a chance to revisit the situation once I was no longer upset / frustrated. Now that more than 6 months have passed - I have to say that I still feel as though I was mistreated during my visit to this dermatology office. Or to be clearer - I was mistreated AFTER my visit. My initial impression of the office was great. I loved the folks up front and the PA and nurse were great as well. I felt very welcomed. The problem came when I wound up with a balance that was not covered by my insurance. I very politely inquired about the balance because these scalp injections are a procedure that I've been having done off and on for about 4 years now and I had never encountered a situation where my insurance did not cover them 100% - not including co-pay. I asked the office manager about and she told me she would follow up with billing to make sure it was being billed correctly. At no point, did I ask them to change the billing codes for me. So imagine my surprise, when I received an email from Christy Hall stating " I can not speak to what other offices bill for or do not bill for however we bill for services rendered. It is considered fraud to do otherwise therefore we will not change this practice. Any time you are seen in our office we will bill for the exact services rendered." I was beyond offended. I have no idea how she got the impression that I was suggesting that the office commit fraud to save me a few bucks - but the whole exchange left a really bad taste in my mouth. I replied back to her - and eventually I got a detailed copy of my bill from Karin Ward - but I found the situation off-putting enough that I never went back. I don't like it when people use condescending language with me and I most especially don't like being accused of being unethical. Ms. Hall identified herself as the Office Manager. I do not understand how this person could be put in charge of managing an office when she appears to lack tact and basic comprehension skills. I have a fairly good grasp of the English language (lol) and there's is absolutely nothing in my written communication or my verbal conversation with the staff that could have been misconstrued to the degree that Ms. Hall did. Never made an appointment, the receptionist was so rude and uninformative with even the simplest of questions. Had she been friendly and just not know the information it would have been more than okay. Yet she was rude and didn't give me any information. And rather than allowing me to leave a voicemail message told me I had to call back tomorrow. read more

I found the staff super friendly, and as a cash patient they were up front with cost. They diagnosed me quickly and I was able to get my biopsy and results within a very short time frame. Took my son who is 13 to Atlanta West Dermatology this morning. My belated husband and I adopted him when he was very young. He's legally my son in every way. When I arrived and tried to check him in for the appointment I was asked if I was his grandmother. I said yes and no. Biologically I'm his grandmother but he's been adopted since he was 4 years old. She told me I had to show proof he was literally my child. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I take him everywhere to appointments and have enrolled him in schools beginning in preschool. I feel discrimination if I was singled out to have to show proof he's my son. Does every mother that makes an appointment there have to show proof that the child they want treated is legally their child? What I experienced this morning was wrong. This staff would not see him. I was so angry. Has this happened to anyone else who has been there with their child? Why was I singled out? His doctors are all with Wellstar. Why couldn't they have been nicer and contacted his pediatrician? Any legal experts out there or suggestions out there for a good attorney? My son witnessed all this. This should have never happened. Prescription for disappointment filled. I've been a client for a few visits over the years and - it's never been great - but I was really disappointed by my most recent experience. I hoped to make a quick appointment by phone but had to explain to the office that I'm a self-pay not an insurance-paid customer . . . so making the appointment didn't seem as smooth as it is with most doctors. They keep records for several years - not sure why I'm still explaining this. For some reason, the staff didn't seem to get it and the secretary was a little short with me about it. After some more explanation I landed an appointment. Yay. Maybe they have new staff? Despite frequent contact, they failed to note that their prices went up significantly. Talk about sticker shock- I thought I'd get a manicure along with the service, and worse: the tec argued with me that I must be mistaken. Um, I was there and I paid for it, so I remember. However, the doc later explained -- quite frankly and unapologetically (bad day perhaps??), the price went up. So indeed, I was correct about previous charges & services. Oh and I can hear you talking about my question outside the door, tacky tec. Then, I needed a prescription. $Ching, Ching!!$ I was slammed again for an "office visit" since I asked for a refill. Note that an actual refill is from a completely different location and did not require viewing/analysis: the office charge must be for the ink. With all the charges, it would be great if the staff offered a little customer service, were polite and were welcoming. That's extra, I guess. I mentioned to the desk staff on the way out: hey a little heads up about increases would be really helpful, since I handle payments. Her response was disappointing: Yeah, I don't set the prices. A couple of instances are helpful - the staff sent a two notices about the appointment and they are quick which is nice. The nurse also worked to find a lower cost prescription; however, it is still pretty high, unfortunately. They can't do much about that but I wished they nixed extra fees since - other than writing the prescription - they didn't do anything. (It was a standing, not new). I called to schedule an appointment for a consultation and unfortunately that did not happen. But, instead of a consultation once I visited this office for the first time, I was told to undress from head to toe. This scheduled consultation was initially for mole removal of the face. I received a bill of $200 for undressing. I contacted the office manager and I got very little explanation to what the $200 was for. After speaking with another manager??? I was told the consultation is $75. The consultation I never received. This facility has sent me to collection (CAD) SMH Bad communication to clients. read more

Well here it is 2 hrs later and no call back. So i am going to find another Dr to take care of me. I dont have to beg any Dr to see me. And I am not going to beg!!!! read more

I wish I could give them ZERO STAR..DO NOT GO HERE IF YOUR NOT VACCINATED, especially African American people. I scheduled an appointment for my 16 year old son over a month ago to have a keloid on his ear removed, no one told or asked me about vaccine. I drove for almost an hour in traffic and all with my 1 year old son. When I got there they took our temperature, everybody was fine. The nurse took my son's info asked if he was vaccinated I told her no, she then said the doctor Patrick Duran will be coming in. "Patrick" came in look at my son's ears and said he can't do the procedure because my son is not vaccinated, he said I should go to Lexington Plastic Surgeon because they will take anybody vaccinated or not. What an a-hole. A lot of people complain about racism here, guess that was his excuse to not see my AM son. Record your convo's people. read more

I took my 11 year old Granddaughter in for a stubborn wart removal. She was very nervous as would be expected. The staff was great and Dr. Catherine was extremely good with her allaying her fear. Very reasonable as far as pricing as well. Would definitely recommend this practice. read more

I had a great experience during my office visit. I brought my 3 year old son in and also had my 8 month old along for the ride. They were super prompt in getting us into a room and the doctor arrived in 3 minutes. The doctor knew exactly what my son needed and we were out the door. This was so helpful for me with my 2 kids in tow and his diagnosis was right on. The only thing I was uncomfortable with was the requirement to provide my and my three year old's social security number over the phone to make an appointment. The receptionist stated it was a 'federally mandated requirement'. No other doctor's office requires this information to simply make an appointment. I hope the office considers removing this from their scheduling process. read more

Love this practice. Have been going for over 8 years and it's easy to schedule, easy in and out, and they are very knowledgeable and precise. It can get pretty crowded but they do their best move everyone through as effectively as possible. I have had several suspicious moles removed and the process was quick and easy. read more

Really wanted to love this dermatology practice. After moving to the Atlanta area a couple of months ago, I needed to locate a new dermatologist to keep my complexion in check. I was given an appt. w/ a P.A. and I think we just didn't click or something. Her recommendation for treatment of my skin turned my complexion into a bit of a mess. She wasn't inclined to continue the treatment my prior dermatologist had prescribed which had my skin in tip-top shape. I think I'll just try a different practice. Clean office, front desk personnel were very friendly, my only problem is my unwillingness to have complexion issues while a new person tries to figures out a fix to something that wasn't broken, at least IMHO. Not a bad practice in any way, just not the right one for me. read more

This office was very incompetent in diagnosing me with a skin rash on my knee. I visited the office 3 times and they told me I was Gulten Free.. Wrong ... They rushed through my appointment and all they really care about is getting your fee for the visit! I payed all those fees and was diagnosed wrong. Now i'm receiving bills from outside doctors that they had to read over my charts. I had no idea I would have to pay all the additional doctors fees and when I call to get more information the person in the billing office was very rude and could not give me any information on what additional doctors my information was sent to. PATHETIC EXPERIENCE! Very long wait in waiting area even after having appointment. And then another long wait in the room. The physician's assistant was incompetent in diagnosing simple and very common skin problem I had. The doctor only visually observed me, prescribed medicine and answered few questions. But she was rushing through all those, giving a feel that I was not as important a patient. The receptionist charged me upfront for the visit beforehand. And after a month, sent a bill showing more amount due. That was totally unfair and unprofessional practice to keep charges hidden, not explain upfront to the patient during the visit. Took my teenager to see about the acne that has become more severe after this past Summer and it was a terrible experience for him and for me. The front desk person is unpleasant both on the phone and in person. I made an appointment with the PA because she was (I am assuming) first available. I have friends that are PA's and have confidence that the same care will be given unless incompetence is displayed. I would not recommend this PA. She didn't listen and was very focused on her thoughts and agenda. She went on a tangent that was uncalled for and I tried to get her to refocus on what I was saying regarding my child. Just overall a disappointing experience. There also seemed to be an assumption that I needed help paying for medication. I don't mind a great deal, but I didn't like the feeling that I was being judged. We will be looking for a different Dermatology office. read more

Made my original appointment based on female hair loss... I had explained to the rude office receptionist before I made the appointment what I had tried all ready. I spent $90 for their PA to tell me that I needed to go see a specialist and there was nothing they could do for me. I find this unprofessional... Especially for the medical community. However I don't know why I am shocked by this. It becomes more and more obvious that it's about the bottom line for these positions. And honestly I don't care what they say about how Insurance is ripping them off they're still doing really well because my insurance didnt pay for this I had to... And they knew that when they booked the appointment. So I feel like they took advantage of me! I will make sure to continue to post bad reviews. Completely unprofessional especially when you're dealing with something as serious as female hair loss! Granted this is cosmetic but it plays a huge factor in your self-confidence as a female. I love this dermatology practice. The nurses are amazing and Dr. Warner and the PAs are great. I unfortunately had a spot on my face that was a small skin cancer that needed Mohs surgery. Its only been a few short months and you cant tell I had anything done at all! She was very thorough prior to surgery and answered all of my questions. I recommend EVERYONE to come here! read more

I was referred by my Kaiser dermatologist to have a skin cancer removed from an area just below my left eye. I was so nervous but the staff was so patient and courteous and caring. I was there for three hours as it took two sessions to get my skin cancer all out. My eye was swollen for several days and the stitches were removed a week later. Within a few weeks the scar is virtually unnoticeable. My friends and even my primary doctor were amazed at how well the area healed. I can highly recommend Dr Warner and her office - they are so caring and professional. read more

My first visit was for a non surgical facial rejuvenation just to freshen my skin with a hydrotherapy treatment. I've never been good about fussy skin care so was very pleased with how quickly and easily the system worked. The young woman who did the treatment was very pleasant and not overly chatty. It was surprisingly relaxing and completely comfortable, plus it only took about 30 minutes to complete with almost no wait time before I was seen. My face was glowing like a baby's skin, not something you see when you're over 50 The office space was also very private and clean and quiet. Everyone was efficient without being hurried. I went for a second visit and was very please with a botox treatment I had on my face as well. The doctor is obviously very skilled in the application of the placement of the botox. I looked ten years younger with one treatment. I've seen the people who come back from botox with lazy eyelids or Joker eyebrows so I was concerned about that, but wanted to get rid of the horizontal forehead lines. When I asked about the "11 lines" between my eyebrows, the doctor advised me that this was not a place to use botox because it is too risky for complications in that particular area of the face. The very next day, I saw a woman on "The Doctors" TV show who was horribly deformed and disfigured by a doctor who did botox in that area on her face. I am so grateful for the knowledge and the integrity of skilled physicians who still care enough to treat their patients and not just process you through the system for the money. read more

I do NOT recommend this office to anyone who is looking for answers to their questions or a thorough exam. I have had skin cancer in the past and was new to the area. I have been seeing Dr. Warner (and sometimes her PAs) for nearly 20 years. My daughter and my husband are also patients of Dr. Warner's. Dr. Warner is an excellent dermatologist. I receive compliments on my complexion all the time and the only reason that I still have such young looking skin is because I followed Dr. Warner's guidance specifically. Dr. Warner was wonderful in helping my daughter deal with her teenage acne, which she now has completely under control. Recently I noticed an unusual mole on my husband's ear and asked Dr. Warner if she would be willing to see my husband to check it out. She graciously agreed to, in spite of her very busy practice. We are so thankful that she did see my husband. As it turned out his mole was a malignant melanoma - which Dr. Warner caught early and probably saved his life! My husband ended up having to have MOHS surgery on his ear. Dr. Warner did a beautiful job of removing the significant amount of tissue that needed to be removed to eliminate the melanoma on my husbands ear, but was able to reshape the ear in such a way that there is no visible scar and you could never even tell that my husband had part of his ear removed. I highly recommend Dr. Warner and her staff. Her office is busy for a reason. If you experience a slight delay in her waiting room or a bit of a wait to get an appointment, understand that is what happens when someone is top notch in their field.
