I would estimate a half dozen times. I screamed after the first shock and spasmed involuntarily. Was given more lidocaine injected and then was shocked again. Then second one almost made me pass out, but the doctor just powered through and kept doing it despite my spasms and screams every time until the cauterizing was done. After the stitching was done the doctor paused at the door and said "sorry about that I guess we hit an exposed nerve" and then disappeared. I've filed a complaint with the georgia state medical board.
