I love the women at this store. Always very friendly and customer service is outstanding. Every visit with them is always a learning opportunity. They take the time to listen and give you the best advice possible. I purchased a Baby Lock Allegro. I love my sewing machine, but not sure it it loves me back.... The threader and cutter are giving me challenges that I know I shouldn't have to go through for a new machine. I just started sewing on my Allegro, but the threads have been breaking after so many stitches. I would love to have in person training for babyLock as there is for the Berninas. They only seem to care about the customer until they get your money. I purchased a machine in March of last year and it was in the shop more than I had it. They finally sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. After more than three months I finally got it back the third time and it was fixed but they insist that there was nothing wrong with the machine. The problem was that I was using it wrong. I have to use my left foot to operate it instead of my right foot. If this was the case, which I do not believe is the case, they should have been able to tell me this when I returned it the first time. They just don't want to take responsibility for the frustration and inconvenience I have suffered over the last year. After paying almost $8000 for a machine, I expected more from them. read more

This store has a nice selection of fabrics, a large wall of batiks, as while as other brands. What this store is missing is great customer service. Depending on who you are or who is working you may get greeted when you enter at the door or you might not get any help the whole time you in the store. I only go here when I can't find what I need from somebody else, because I don't feel appreciate in this shop. read more

I came into the Sewing Center back in Mid June 2020. Looking for a specific color thread, which I was able to find. I went back a few weeks later to see if they had a machine I was looking for Instock. They did not have the machine but got my name and number to call when it came in. I started browsing and went over to the Bernina's everyone's dream machine. I started looking and asked if I could try one. Associate was very friendly and said yes but they ask that you wash your hands prior. I got to sit down and play with the machines, and I wanted to purchase. The associate helping me did not get short with my million questions. She was. Very helpful even when I decided to buy a low Use trade in. I love my machine and the staff at ASC is always amazing when I go into the store. read more

Brought my sewing scissors in a month ago for sharpening. I called yesterday morning to confirm they would be ready for pickup today. The person I spoke to said it had not been done yet (?) but would be done first thing this morning and would be ready soon after. I drove over a half an hour to get to the store this afternoon and was told it had not been started yet. I did not have time to wait around for 30 more minutes for them to finish them. I was nearly home when they called to notify me they were done. I explained my frustration about the situation but got no resolution to the problem other than the employee would talk to their manager. Unfortunately this is the only store I am aware of that provides these services. They have a beautiful store but poor follow through and poor customer service. I also asked about taking a sewing class, but the only classes they provide require you to have your own quilting machine. Disappointing. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! They are rude to customers, and do not do what they say! We have tried both locations, and they both are run the same. :-( Most recently, we dropped off my wife's Bernina sewing machine for minor repairs. We explicitly instructed them that NO repairs were authorized unless they were covered by warranty (which these should have been under the 20-year mechanical warranty). We told them to call us for authorization if there was any reason that the repairs were not covered by the warranty. A couple of weeks later, we got an email saying the machine was ready for pick-up. I went into the shop (an hour away) today to pick up the machine, and was told that the charges were $55. I asked why, since the repairs should have been covered by the warranty, and explicitly did not authorize any non-warranty repairs! The clerk went and got someone else (Tim or Nick?). He told me that the repair was not covered under warranty (even though it was a mechanical part), and I'd have to take it up with Bernina (!). When I asked why they had done the repairs anyway, since we explicitly told them to call for authorization, and he couldn't answer me. (He claimed that they had gotten approval, but couldn't tell me how - e.g. email or phone - nor produce any records showing an email or phone call was made. And, neither my wife nor myself got any such email or phone call.) He told me that I could either pay for the unauthorized repairs, or leave the machine with them (for another 2-3 weeks?) and they would put the broken parts back on. No apologies or any attempts to do the right thing (which would have been to not charge me for the unauthorized repairs). Basically, they were performing extortion by holding the machine hostage unless I paid for the unauthorized repairs! And, he did it with a cool smugness that perhaps comes from doing it many times before. We will NOT do any more business with them, and are reporting them to Bernina, as they are ruining Bernina's reputation in the Atlanta area. Unfortunately, there are no other authorized repair centers in the Atlanta area, so we will have to go to Perry or Chattanooga from now on. :-( read more

I went to the Marietta store yesterday with a friend to look at a long arm quilter. There were three women working at the store and not one greeted us. My friend had never been to the store and was shocked that we walked around for a few minutes with no one asking us if we needed help. I had to go to the back room and yell "hello" to get a response. I asked about the Baby Lock Coronet and was told by one of the women that that was not the machine I should get. She said the Bernina one was better. I told her I'd done my research and wanted to see that one. I also saw two Berninas in the store and both were table models. She insisted that another woman show me the Bernina. I repeated to her that I wanted a machine with a frame. She left and sent someone else to help me. The machine I wanted to see was not in stock and she called someone to see if it was in the Duluth store. Busy signal. She also told me she though the machine was being discontinued. She took my name and phone number, but has not called me. I have bought a serger and and embroidery machine at this store. The customer service has always been poor. Any time I go in to buy thread, machine attachments, etc. they act like they're doing me a favor to let me buy from them. I'm done. I'll find someone else to service my machines and I'm sure there is another Baby Lock dealer within a hundred miles. Don't know why I return.. sales person was rude.. I inquired about the manual she was using to answer my question,, since she was clueless about the answer... I wanted to purchase this manual full of helpful material. She insisted if I had this particular machine, I had the manual, since it was included. She argued when I explained I did not receive it., Later, I printed the manual out and discovered she was using .Edition 2... not the original manual that came with my machine. Located in Duluth Georgia New owner is attentive and knows his merchandise. It is very exciting to see the addition of fun new classes, great products, updated store, Beautiful fabrics and all the attention to details. For instance I was shopping for creative ruler work type tools and there were plenty to choose from along with a knowledgeable staff. Lots of machines to choose from they can do a variety of stitches and tasks. The story itself is buttoned up. Clean, pretty and organized. If you haven't been to this Duluth location recently, it is worth taking the time to check it out. Always get exceptional service when I visit Atlanta Sewing Center. I have purchased 3 Bernina machines and 1 Horn Sewing Table. Everyone in the store is friendly and quick to help with any problems or issues. My sewing table took an extra month to arrive due to the pandemic, but Louise, the Manager, called me to give me an update on delayed arrival time. I have taken two basic classes and a mystery make class and have learned so much even in the basic machine classes. Overall I would say this is a great store with great products and a really great staff. I will definitely visit here for fabrics, notions, annual machine service, embroidery classes, and any sewing needs. read more

I have purchased 2 machines from ASC but after my experience yesterday I will never be back. I receive their weekly email and this week it said 35% off fabric on Saturday. Well I'm about to start on a big project (Millefiori Quilt) and will need lots of variety of fabric. I asked if the fat quarters were included and was told yes. ( I'll talk about that later). I started picking my fabric and putting the bolts on the counter when I heard one employee scolding another employee about not keeping the cutting table clear and started to put my fabric away. I told her it was mine and I'd like 1/2 yard of each and I'd continue to look. She informed me 1/2 yard was not eligible for the discount. I told her it didn't say that in the advertising. Her response was " we would get nothing done if we were to stand and cut 1/2 yards. I again reminded her of the adv. and her response was "oh just give it to her" with a complete look of disgust on her face. On to the fat quarters. Opened up a fq and thought it looked small. I measured it and yes it was 17"x22. I opened all 10 that I had selected and not one was 18"x 22. I put everything back. The so-called manager was arrogant, rude and condescending-appropriate it seems for her role in this uninviting store. Why are are so many "sewing centers" etc., so very unfriendly. I went to the Atlanta Sewing Center this time last year because I was in Georgia for an Expo. The staff was not very friendly and I felt I was being a bother when I asked to have fabric cut. I am going to try and go back again this year, and hope the customer service is better. If not, it will be my last time visiting. On a side note, I would have spent a lot more money last year, if I had gotten better customer service. I only purchased what I really "had to have". The store has some beautiful fabrics. read more

Very disappointed! Our group of 8 (YES EIGHT) quilters were on a Row by Row road trip/shop hop. This was day one of a two day SHOPPING trip. We called ahead and told the clerks that we were headed their way, but wouldn't arrive until about 10 minutes before closing. We asked if they would stay open for a few minutes longer. The answer, NO, we can't do that. We got to the shop before closing and got our patterns, and we were very excited by what we saw....but we had to leave..... This shop made a HUGE mistake! I am very disappointed with the owner of Atlanta Sewing Center. On 4/5/20 I bought a Bernette 35, after using it a few weeks I decided I wanted to upgrade to a computerized model. I went in May 19, told Emmet(who was very helpful) I wanted to upgrade to computerized model, she showed me different models, I asked her if I would be able to get a trade in on the Bernette 35, she asked owner & she told me "he said he would give you 100% what you paid for it, as you can see we have sold out on that model and it hasn't been very long- great! So I went home to think about it, decided on a Bernette 38, took my machine back down to store, they did a return until I told them I wanted the Bernette 38- store person (not Emmett) said oh I'm sure he was going to give you 100% because he thought you were looking at a much more expensive machine- I said " I was actually looking at a number of them, & I was told(the above) & NOT- we'll give you 100% "IF " you buy a more expensive machine", she then said well we don't normally do that unless the machine is 2 steps up, hmm going from 35-38- seems like 3 to me, she called the owner and NO he would not honor what I had been told! He would not give me anything for the machine I'd had for 45 days, even though I'd be spending more $. I believe in supporting small businesses, and it's too bad that I had to experience this. The employees are all very friendly as I've been in there quite a few times, it's the owner not honoring his word that I have a problem with. read more

On a recent visit to the Marietta store, I received the most rude and unhelpful service ever from any retail store. There were no other customers there and at least 3 employees present. I asked for a specific item which they did not have in stock but could order. I asked the price and was rudely told that the person would have to look that up. I waited a moment, thinking she would do so. It became very clear that would not happen. I was left standing in the store, which I would normally spend a good deal of time browsing through, feeling more than unwelcome. Great merchandise supply, but the overwhelming lack of customer service and interest in making a sale makes it more than worth it for me to shop elsewhere. I own a Destiny II, Babylock Embellisher, Babylock Sashiko machine and a Babylock Ovation serger, in addition to two Koala sewing cabinets, all brands sold and serviced by this store. Big loss to them. I would NOT RECOMMEND the Marietta Atlanta Sewing store to anyone, for anything. read more
