Horrible experience. My mother is buried here and last October, my father was failing. Before he…read morepassed, we tried to make pre-arrangements with them for his burial, a service, and to engrave his info on their shared headstone. We live hours away, so this all had to be done via phone, email, zoom, etc. We were referred to "Katie" who wasn't great at responding to messages and when I was finally able to schedule a phone appointment with her, she stood me up. No excuse, attempt to reschedule, nothing. Our father passed in Nov. and my wife began alerting them that we needed to arrange a burial service and to add his name to the headstone. We planned our memorial service for May, giving them MONTH'S of time to get the headstone done in time for our burial service. My wife repeatedly called the cemetery office for updates and others in the office shrugged and said it was Katie's job to handle this, though she was never around and never returned my wife's calls. Katie had originally ghosted me and later my wife. 6 month's after my father passed, the headstone was still not ready for the memorial/burial service. What a huge disappointment. We were alerted today (end of June) that the headstone is now in place. Unbelievable. It also sounds like the Katie is related to the folks at PL Fry's mortuary, so it seems like a sticky bit of job security may be at work. The other office staff, grave diggers, and Deacon who attended our service were all nice, competent people. Beware if you ever have to work with Katie.

Colonial Rose lied about pricing multiple times. They tried to short me two entire hours of my loved one's funeral service and ended up shorting me only one hour after I complained. At the planning meeting I informed them that I wanted to pay on assignment they agreed since that's one of the approved forms of payment they take. This was two weeks before the funeral. Then they proceeded to lie and say that my loved one's life insurance company didn't allow that type of payment and that I had no claim opened, but in reality they were the ones to call the insurance company and specifically say they were refusing the payment on assignment and wanted to be paid up front. And not wait the obligatory 20 days. When I informed them that I didn't have a way to pay them in cash which is why I chose the payment on assignment option they said "well if there's no payment there's no funeral or cremation" only a couple days before the funeral. They made it seem like they were holding my loved one's body hostage and only cared about their money. So not only was I dealing with the devastation of losing my loved one now I had to scramble to find cash to cover the costs since they will charge 3% for using a credit card. They lied multiple times to my face and they were very inconsiderate and lacked training. The only employee that I have nothing bad to say about was their receptionist Dylani. She was always very helpful and thoughtful. And then as a cherry on top Lenny the funeral director signed the guest book before any of the family or guests did. I was very irked by that because he wasn't family or a friend and signed it as a business card.

From the moment we met Amber, we felt comfortable. My dad lost the love of his life after 66 years of marriage and is heartbroken. Amber made the whole process of making decisions easy for him! The whole process was simple and she made it carefree for us. We also worked with Elaina and Dylani. Everyone worked so well with us especially when we had to make edits to the death certificate and the obituary amongst on the spot decisions on the day of service that my brother and I had to make. They all were so patient and understanding of us as we were in pain and grieving. Also, the embalmer made my mom look beautiful and they added a veil to her casket for the viewing which added a special touch. While we set our own funeral program, Amber and the rest of the staff was there by our side to make sure everything was accomplished. They helped pin the boutonnières on the pallbearers and helped with the timeline of procession to the burial after ceremony after the reception. I couldn't have asked for a better execution of the timelines as we had to drive almost an hour to the cemetery. We were able to have Athena the service dog visit and the FB live worked well for our relatives overseas! Also, I recommend renting the reception room. They provided coffee, tea, and water. We added breakfast in the morning and charcuterie foods for after the service. Super convenient for those that were not going to the burial. Also, some people and kids were not comfortable with the viewing so it was a safe place to hang out. Plus, perfect for a family reunion with people you haven't seen in years! Such a smart idea to have this room. The price of funeral was reasonable. I love this staff. The home itself is beautiful and I love the chandeliers. It was a perfect environment to feel the love everyone has for my mom and our family. Also, service to the burial was great. Amber had my dad ride with her in the hearse. That was super nice for my dad. She was really great with him and helped to lift his burdens. At the burial, everything was executed well and done professionally. Thank you!

I would first like to recognize Scott E. Gatze for his exceptional service. He was professional,…read morecompassionate, responsive, and genuinely helpful. His willingness to step in completely turned our experience around, and he is truly an asset to your organization. Unfortunately, our experience with Jonathan Sandwell was extremely disappointing. His handling of our loved one's arrangements was, in our experience, unacceptable. The flower order he handled was incorrect, communication was poor, and there was a serious lack of urgency in securing the necessary dates for the military funeral honors. Critical arrangements were left until the last minute, forcing my family to step in and take action ourselves to ensure everything was properly coordinated. This was not simply an inconvenience. Had my family not intervened, our loved one could have missed the military honors they had earned and deserved. That is an incredibly serious failure when you are entrusted with helping a family honor a veteran. What made the situation even more frustrating was Jonathan later appearing to take credit for arrangements that my family had personally worked to secure. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that families choose someone other than Jonathan if they have that option. He did not give us confidence that our loved one's arrangements were being handled with the care, urgency, or attention they deserved. His lack of follow-through created unnecessary stress for a grieving family at a time when we should have been able to trust the professionals handling these arrangements. Separately, I had a brief interaction with Victoria "Tori" Monforte when I asked a simple question. Unfortunately, I was met with an unnecessary amount of attitude rather than a helpful response. Although it was a brief interaction, it left a negative impression. During such an emotional time, families deserve compassion, professionalism, clear communication, urgency, and attention to detail. We are especially grateful that Scott demonstrated all of those qualities and helped restore our confidence in the process. His service showed us exactly what this experience should have looked like from the beginning.

Very disappointing what $7,000 - $8,000 gets you. Death was 3.5 weeks prior to burial and still no Death Certificates ready. No one at Funeral Home thought to set up and include an order for Grave Marker and have to make an appointment to order one. An oddly inept, uncaring and unsympathetic staff.
