There were times where he didn't have answers and sought out assistance from others either in his field or outside his expertise to find the right treatment for my joint pain and arthritis. He helped connect me with the right people and work with others on my case. He is well regarded in the medical community, among his peers, hospitals, and physical therapists. Dr. Myers performed partial knee Makoplasty on me in 2017…read more Started PT and my knee swelled to three times its regular size, so I couldn't start any strength conditioning. Six month post-op with Dr Myers, my quad had atrophied. More PT in-house didn't help. Finally I consulted with a Duke University Orthopedist. His X-rays showed that the Makoplasty device was put in crooked, which was why my leg was bowed and I was unable to straighten it. Dr. Myers denied it was crooked and said I was bow-legged so the device had to follow the curve of my leg. (News to me.) Fast forward SIX YEARS of living in constant pain. I finally got up the courage to have another surgery. New doctor did a full knee replacement and noted there was encapsulation in the back of my knee that was never addressed. He straightened my bowed leg, and with PT, I am close to being able to fully flex. I am frustrated and angry that I went through years of pain and deformity because of Dr. Myers. His arrogance and over confidence is a hindrance IMO, and he needs to find some humility. I hope that I'm the only one who has had this experience.

I've called the office over 10 times in the month that I was there. And not one returned call. But receptionist assure me AUDRI had gotten each message. MRI was done but never went over. Never met Dr. Puppala. Didn't talk to anyone about my problem. But was given appointments for TFESI what is that 2 one week apart. And as I scheduled for both they change the location after I had made arrangements for ride all 4 times.Just for them to cancel. But what really is something once again I failed another test.NO WAY. If they aren't contaminating the specimen there they are being contaminated at the lab. But I do know I don't abuse drugs never have never will. I take all my medicines the way they were prescribe. But from the beginning they tried pushing that SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR telling me the injection wouldn't do me any good mind you they schedule them. Then Ms. Audra tells me the doctor said will no longer write anymore pain meds if I don't do it. I've had 3 failed back surgeries. 12 surgeries on my body in all. Top it off I was given a referral the first visit to see a shrink. I found this out as I was checking out. She didn't mention it. Again she and since I never met the doctor. I ask and received a copy of my MRI. And notice that the contrast that they need to see in depth said the uneventful administration of intravenous contrast. WHAT? No one mention it and since it's the doctor job to go over imaging he never did. Never saw him. Never heard of such in all tests, MRIs, CTScans, Ultra sounds, Xrays and Blood work and believe me I've had plenty. Every doctor as always gone over every test but this one. And they make sure they give you weakest form of meds so you are in pain. Not everyone out here is abusing drugs or addicts. And I understand the Opiod epidemic. I know too many that has lost their lives. But I also know for myself after going through this for over 18yrs and have done and follow everything my doctors had advised. And as I read over my MRI and looking up the medical words I don't understand my back is in bad shape. I have everything that cries out pain. So he knows I not making up the pain I'm in And he also the meds that he prescribe went from a 8mg for 30 days to 4 then 2. To him I'm a dollar sign. And that Stimulater cost as much as one of my fusions. I don't want another cut on my body. Don't want anything implanted in my body that sends electric shock to my brain. And the cost that's another thing. BIG BUCKS. for doctors. I can't afford. And he don't have to write another pain script. He is right and I'll never go back again. I've been a patient at Resurgens since 1993 as a patient of Dr.Kenneth Kress. In the last few…read moremonths, due to foot pain, I have seen another Dr, their foot and ankle specialist Dr Gleason. First visit was quick and he recommended that I get an MRI. I did that, was told to bring the MRI back to him on disk and scheduled an appointment with him to go over the results. He was at the Resurgens Windy Hill office that day. I drove an hour to get there, signed in early and was told he was running at least 30 minutes behind. I was not pleased and opted not to stay as I had to return to work. I rescheduled for 2 weeks later, this time at the St Joseph's location. I left work, arrived there 10 minutes early for a 2:10 appointment, after a 30 minute drive to get there from my office. As I was signing in I noticed a sign on the desk that read, "Dr Gleason is running 45 minutes behind". I was incredulous...not again! Does he care so little for anyone else's time? I registered my complaint with the receptionist, received nothing but excuses. I then asked to speak to the office manager. She was on the floor below and I went and spoke to her. She said she could see my frustration but that Dr Gleason had many types of appointments on his schedule, possibly emergencies, broken feet or ankles, even possibly an emergency amputation... At that point I gave up, said that I had at least tried to register a complaint, took my MRI disk and left. I will not be going back. I had to get back to work and my time is valuable. Very unacceptable, Dr Gleason, his staff and Resurgens. I am the front office manager for a dentist. I know about scheduling, emergencies and how to treat patients with respect. Obviously Dr Gleason could care less and he'll probably never even know I left the office, much less the practice.

Getting an update and, 2. Weary of having his other leg procedure done (he was admitted both lower extremities are affected).

I still work in the industry, in a different capacity, but I have patients everyday that need prior authorizations. The staff here sent my MRIs to one of their preferred imaging facilities. I scheduled three weeks ahead. Imaging facility had 3 MRIs denied for not meeting medical necessity. Laughable since I need several surgeries and also can't use my left hand and am in excruciating pain from c-spine injuries, hand/wrist injuries, and a knee injury (painful to walk, drive, even at rest). When I call the office no one helps really. When I call the imaging facility, no one helps. I called my insurance, but I do not have time to work on this on my own. I'm paying for this to be done. Barbour Orthopedics states the denials and/or communication from imaging must be lost in "faxes". Absolutely freaking laughable. I know every inch of how a medial office runs. Someone needs to act now, or I'll leave this or practice asap. Call my induce and get the denial notifications if you don't have them! Also, when I found out about the denials, plus one order never received by the imaging facility, someone should have acted then. I was told my orders were sent to another imaging facility when I notified Barbour Ortho of the denials and non/received order. They were not sent. Never received! Plus a peer to peer review or appeal needs to be done for the denials. I mean, do I need to come do your job? I will and better than any of their employees. I scheduled the MRIs three weeks in advance. Imaging facility submitted prior auths m one week before my spot. Absolutely laughable! I called the day before my appointment to confirm and they didn't even tell me about the denials, which were several days prior. I did my diligence. If I didn't know the "medical world" as I do, I would have most likely gone for the MRIs. I would have paid an amount they quoted me, which my insurance covers all imaging at 100%. I have zero out of pocket costs. I would have had to fight to be reimbursed and the imaging facility would have had to attempt a "retro authorization". Not a guarantee of coverage/payment. Be aware of imaging not done at Barbour. Seems like a scam to me at AHI. Barbour ortho needs to hire staff to complete imaging auths on their own. Facilities that pts are referred to, are slow and sorry, but they suck. I'm very upset, severely in pain, and really happy I took a day off work for no reason. Management @ Barbour, please call me. This needs to be discussed. Excuse any typos. I cannot use my left hand to type properly. I continue to suffer daily. Severely! I do not recommend this clinic.

I received a call from Edward Oakley ( Vice President ) while I was sitting the reception area. I was quite upset and Mr Oakley disarmed me immediately by telling me that he cared about me and about my care. Then there was a FaceTime with Dr Barbour who was actually at their other location that day. I was blown away that both men took the time to reach out to me personally to reassure me and to bestow confidence. It worked and they took the anxiety I was feeling away. Surgery day was uneventful and I felt safe the entire time. With Covid-19, there was some apprehension. It's been 6 weeks now and my knee is so much better than it was. I want to send out a big THANK YOU to all members of the Barbour Orthopaedics team for taking such great care of me. The Anesthesiologist was very warm and quite funny. Because of the sedation meds, I cant recall his name. I do remember his face was the last one I remember seeing before I went to sleep.

It took six separate phone calls just to sort out confusion between two duplicate accounts and incorrect insurance information on file. Even after all of that was supposedly resolved, the billing department submitted another claim to my insurance a year and a half after the original date of service, generating yet another bill. The medical care itself may be fine, but the billing department is disorganized, unresponsive, rude and seemingly incapable of managing accounts correctly. If you have surgery here, keep a detailed paper trail and be prepared to follow up repeatedly -- you may be dealing with billing errors long after your procedure is over.
