I have been working out with owner David Nash in private sessions since the first of the year. I…read morereally like David a lot - he is a great guy and a very professional & experienced personal trainer. I have learned a lot from him already and know that every Tues and Fri, I am going to have a terrific 45 minute workout (or a little less when I am late!). By terrific, I mean hard as heck - David is very encouraging and also very precise about form and the amount of weight. He pushes when appropriate, which seems like 90% of the time!, and backs off the weight when he sees that I'm not keeping good form. I told David that I wanted to focus on arms, back & shoulders (I had a very good base but had started losing my tone/cut due to partial neglect for a few months). He designs my training session around that - with some core thrown in to make sure I'm maintaining that with my other workouts during the week. Every session has been different and challenging so far. I do get sore after our workouts but not in a painful, can't-raise-my-arms-to-wash-my-hair way. His gym is your basic physical fitness gym with a solid variety of weights and other fitness equipment. He has very very popular bootcamp classes -- once I started working out with him I realized a lot of Avondale Estaters frequent his gym and take great pride in earning their "levels", e.g., Warrior, Elite etc. I earned my warrior, which is level one and actually sort of thrilled me. I want to wear my Tshirt out & about so people know, hey, I made it too. :) David also offers small group training - women sculpting groups and other strength training classes along with bootcamp. I think the best things I can share about David are that he has extensive experience and knowledge of exercise and anatomy, he is encouraging, communicates very clearly and specifically to ensure proper form - and he's just a really good, nice guy.

Actually he stopped the shooting pain with one thumb the first day and ever since then, I've been working on mobility and strength, but without the excruciating pain. Staff -- Kenesha and Emily are great. This is truly the only office, medical or otherwise, where they call you back if they miss your call! Thank you all. 2019 - Jason cured another side of my back and I'm still doing the exercises to keep in shape. 2017 - Love these folks, Casey O'Dell cured my back and set me on a path of maintenance. The dry needling knocked out a couple of pernicious knots in my muscles. The rest of the staff is a lot of fun, but very professional.

Now, after 3 sessions of SpineMed - Spinal Decompression treatment, I'm 99% BACK to normal. I HIGHLY recommend this treatment. I'm 42 yrs old and never had any back problems until suddenly I could hardly bend to put on my shoe, sit or move without pain. I didn't lift or do any strenuous that specifically hurt my back so I was totally clueless why I was in so much pain for weeks. I had no idea what spinal compression meant, but after seeing Dr. Castanet and doing my first spinal decompression within a couple of days I felt significantly better. After a few more follow-up sessions, here I am feeling AMAZING! At 42 and not getting any younger, I feel spinal decompression is a great physically regime comparable to routine dental check-up and cleaning. I will be back to see Dr. Castanet occasionally.

As a short, round, middle-aged woman with arthritis, an aversion to gyms, and a tendency to quit…read moreover mediocre results, I was caught again in that old familiar failure/shame spiral. I had to do something different to force myself off the couch but was apprehensive about hiring a personal trainer. Enter Elmore McConnell. I found him on the web and, impressed with his education, credentials and experience, I decided to take chance. I can honestly say it's best thing I've ever done for myself. Elmore comes to my home 2 - 3 times a week and puts me through some of the hardest workouts I've ever experienced. The amazing thing is I absolutely look forward to it! He challenges me, energizes me, and is incredibly intuitive about what I need to hear to keep me motivated. He brings out my best effort every time. My success is his success - we truly are a team. And, as a former track athlete, Elmore seems to have an endless stream of routines to put me through my paces. I don't think I've done the same workout twice. Elmore has found a way to work around my injuries, arthritis, and limitations, and he's taught me that I'm capable of far more than I ever imagined. In just a few short months of training I feel stronger and fitter than I've felt in many years. I should also mention how easy and flexible Elmore is to work with. I travel a lot so when I'm out of town, I just bring Elmore with me - via FaceTime or Skype. Even on the road, with no equipment, Elmore makes sure I get a fantastic workout. There are so many unqualified personal trainers out there that hiring one seems like risky business. I can tell you from experience, Elmore is the REAL DEAL - a consummate professional, perfect gentleman, and an extremely knowledgeable and committed trainer. He's made an enormous difference in my life and I'd give him a ten star recommendation if I could.

My Doctor recommended physical therapy to improve my situation. I had been to larger physical therapy facilities in the past for an ankle injury. I had trouble seeing the same person each time at that facility and when I did, I was not always sure they recalled what was done and what my situation was. At Stepp Center, Steve sees you personally he adjust the therapy to your uniques needs and capabilities. He moves you through a series of preparations and therapy routines based on your own progress. I found his hours and availability perfect for my needs. He typically will have only 1-3 clients in the facility at any one time allowing him time to fully explain the therapy, physical movements and to demonstrate the technique while explaining the "why" behind the therapy that would give you the desired result. Steve is a real pleasure ....extremely positive, energetic and motivating. I highly recommend Stepp Center for any physical therapy need you may have.
