I am not sure what the problem is with these people (maybe they don't like certain people) but something is suspicious about them. I contend that they didn't switch out the parts and just charged me for that issue because you will have the same problem. You can take your chances with them but I would look into another place to avoid the risk. I am not sitting here and the problem has gotten worse. Although I called to complain yet again, they were comfortable with me just contacting the authorities to try to resolve the issue. Make up your mind about using them, but in my opinion, I wouldn't. "They won" in my case, but caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware). Your money is hard-earned so go to someone you trust. Or, just take your chances!

After I paid him upfront for the parts (didn't have an issue with that) on August 22, I was told he would have the parts by Tuesday the 9th of September (18 days after supposedly ordering them, but okay)... I texted him on Wednesday the 10th asking when I should expect him. He texted back said he had been sick and asked if Friday the 12th would work. Told him sure. Friday comes and he doesn't show. I text him back and no response. This continues through the ENTIRE following week with no response from him. He finally shows up on the 19th (nearly an entire month after we first agreed he would do the job). I paid him via CashApp for the labor and figured that was the end of the situation. When he left, I was happy, finally had some air conditioning in the truck. My happiness was short-lived, because by Monday it was back to blowing hot air (no freon). So of course, I texted him and finally Wednesday the 24th he said he would try to get to me by the weekend (26-27 September), of course that didn't happen. He texted me again on the 29th saying he would "try and make it today".... Finally on the 30th of September he made it back over to redo his work. Everything since then was fine until last Sunday, May the 17th. The AC started blowing hot air again (obviously the system has sprung another leak). I've attempted to contact him via text every day since then with absolutely no response. Oh, and for those of you wondering why I'm texting him instead of calling, he doesn't answer the phone and hasn't even bothered to set up a voicemail. If you have an AC issue, find someone else. I'm fed up with this nonsense. Thinking about small claims court, but at this point I just need some AC.

This is a reply to Kelly A. Johnny auto has been in business for years. With a great reputation…read more I ask a police officer years ago who the best mechanic in the area. He send me to Johnny. Some shops won't let you hang around because of insurance reasons. And the shop only got enough room for the mechanic to do there work. Customers will be in the way. Even outside the Bay Area. As you should already know the shop is kinda small. As for the parts back. There are some parts you can not simply get back because of warranty parts retention polices. That require the parts used to be send back to the manufacturer for inspection. Other parts have a core charge and those parts can be rejuvenated to keep part prices low. But why would the mechanic want to deal with a customer that already show has attitude? Or maybe there was miscommunication. You did make me smile saying shady mechanic. They were able to identify the issue and resolve it in a timely manner. I know for a lot of car repair shops, it often takes days maybe even sometimes weeks to do a big repair. In my case, I had a semi-intense repair needed for my engine and they were able to resolve it within 2 days. As a woman, it is important to me that I am being treated fairly and with kindness when engaging in conversations and inquiries with a car repair shop. The shop was very clean which is important to me since often times, people will choose to wait in the shop why their car is being repaired or services. As stated, they were very informative, approachable, and even showed pictures displaying the issue of my car while also providing the severity of it. It's been about 3 weeks since my repair and I haven't had any issues with it since. Definitely will be my go to car repair shop if I ever run into any issues in the future.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO MARK COLLINS!!!! Mark is unprofessional, rude, and dishonest!! MARK IS A…read moreSCAMMER AND A FRAUDULENT MAN WHO CANNOT BE TRUSTED!! I should have looked at the other reviews before I took my car to him!! Mark Collins, the owner, had my truck for an entire week to fix an oil leak. He spent 3 days just trying to get a screw off...that was a bad sign right there. Every time we called him about the status of my truck, he had a different excuse as to why it was not ready. After 7 days I told him I needed my truck and we went to pick it up. He told us he had fixed the oil leak, but when I put the key in the ignition, the check engine light was now on and it was not on before. He was confused and could not figure out why the check engine light was on. We were there for an additional 3 hours waiting for him to figure out why the check engine light was on. We brought it back the next day to fix the new problem he created...he then said it was the O2 sensor. He told us that he put a brand new O2 sensor on my truck and that the light should go off. The check engine light NEVER went off. When we got my truck home the same day, my truck would no longer start and Mark came to my house to see what was wrong. Mark still had no clue why my truck was now not running. Mark also charged us an additional $500 from the price he initially quoted us stating that he had to charge for his additional time, the time that was his fault because he made the check engine light come on. Mark is a SCAMMER AND A FRAUD AND SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED!! If you value your car and money do not take your car to Collins Auto in Douglasville. Additionally, we took my truck to a more reputable and capable mechanic who told us that the O2 was never changed and that it was the old O2 sensor still on my truck. The mechanic took it off and showed us how old and worn it was. But Mark Collins lied and said he replaced the O2 sensor and charged us for a brand new O2 sensor. We paid over 1K for my truck repair with Mark and still had issues. We called him and told him what the mechanic who actually fixed my truck said about him NOT replacing the O2 sensor. He didn't even deny that he lied to us. He charged us for a part and service that he never put on my truck. He then told us to bring him the receipt for our repair work, which was an additional $300 from the other mechanic. He said he would reimburse us, but when we went to his shop, he only reimbursed us less than half of the $300. Mark also makes up prices along the way, as opposed to having a standard pricing list. Mark yelled and cursed at me in person and on the phone. My husband had to call him to handle that situation. He ruins cars and refuses to correct the issue!! Please read his reviews, all of them, not the ones that he had people make up on his behalf to make him look good!! He is the ABSOLUTE WORST MECHANIC I've ever encountered. He is very argumentative and combative!!! When he had to come to my house to see why my truck wouldn't start, he attempted to be nice and made up some story stating that it was a reason for us meeting, and some other weird story. He's a con artist and a jack legged preacher.

The lead mechanic/owner is very good at fixing what immediately needs to be fixed and outlining what has more time before it needs to be addressed. This helps me managing repairs over time instead of being hit with an astronomical bill. Most shops try to get you for every bit of work they can get in while they have your attention. J & C is not in the business of fixing every item that needs repair on your car if there is life on item they will make you aware and let you determine if you want to move forward. Being honest and truthful goes a long way with me. J & C auto displays this character.

** I Feel Taken Advantage Of -- Deeply Disappointed**…read more I'm heartbroken and angry after my recent experience with J & C Auto on Bright Star Rd. in Douglasville. I brought my car in to have the front bumper replaced, and was **never told** it would cost an additional \$1,500-\$2,000 to have it painted. I was in constant contact with Juan (owner's son), and I totally feel as if he took advantage of me. When I arrived to pick my car up and saw that UGLY bumper, I was floored! And oh, he was VERY apologetic for "not telling me" the bumper came primed AFTER I'd already paid them \$1,100, but made zero effort, ZERO attempt to make it right and retain my business. He had the nerve to say out of his mouth, "Ma'am, we wanted to do our best to save you money and get your back to you as soon as possible." What??!! I am no dummy. I know what primed means. I know that many exterior car part replacements come primed, which is why I texted Juan while they still had my car to request a quote to replace my passenger-side mirror and SPECIFICALLY asked for a bottom line that includes the cost to paint it which, by the way, was a ridiculous amount! He actually tried to tell me it was that expensive because they have to 'program' it. Goodbye! What hurts even more is that I truly believe I was treated differently -- and unfairly -- because I came in alone as a woman. I had taken my car here once before in 2024, but that time my ex-husband was with me. The difference was night and day: the communication was clear, the pricing was fair, and I felt respected. This time, I felt dismissed and misled, like I wasn't taken seriously or worthy of the same transparency. No one should be made to feel like they're being taken advantage of because of their gender. I trusted this shop, and now I feel completely betrayed. Ladies, beware. Spend your hard-earned money at an auto shop that sees you, respects you, and won't prey on your ignorance or your wallet. Do better, J & C Auto.
