Went in looking for a simple solution for a leaky garden hose pipe. Asked the guy if he had anything...he says "yeah but I don't use the stuff, i do it the right way." I say, "it's just a leaky faucet." Then as he's cashing me out, I say, "You looking for any part time summer help from a teenage boy?" (Asking for my stepson who just turned 16) He says, "No, and specially not from one who sends his dad in to ask for him." My stepson didn't ask me to do that. I've been asking around all over town to get a feel for who'll be hiring for summer help. Been going to this store for years, guess I'll be going to Gibbs or Lowe's from now on. :( read more

I walked in to Atkins Hardware, the wmployee met me and ask what I needed. I said I wanted 3 inch Star head wood screws, he said ok, how many pounds do you need, I said 2, he pits 2 1/2 pounds in the bag and I guess he figured I would take it, I said I just want 2. He moaned and got it to 2.1 pounds. We walke to the register and he ring it up, I paid and he said here is a bit you can use for those acrews, I looked and it was a Phillips/square tip bit. I said I wanted Star head screws, he said "we don't carry those, those philips ones are better. I should have looked at the screws before I paid with my debit card. Will never go there again, worth the drive to go to Lowe's. read more
