Two months ago I could barely bend over; now I am pain-free most of the day. Dr. Glick is very professional but also very friendly and easy-going, which I find helpful. She does not use a cookie-cutter approach to physical therapy. She figures out what I can do and cannot do and focuses on exercises that I can do. She is great at answering questions. I am very curious, so I ask a lot of questions. Some health-care providers are annoyed by this (especially when they find out I am a lawyer), but Dr. Glick is happy to explain why a body part works the way it does or why an exercise is helpful to a body part. It's like having an encyclopedia of physical therapy available! I sincerely hope I do not injure myself again but if I do, I will go back to Lakeshore Physical Therapy for sure. My shoulder surgeon from Midwest Ortho was so impressed on the advanced range of motion I achieved, he wanted to know where I went for my PT. Absolute professionalism and your goals in mind, they begin with review of your injury alongside your doctor's PT order and put a personalized plan in place and are explained with client/patient. As you move through your stages of exercises, the therapist explains what muscles you need to engage, how and it's importance to your recovery. After working closely with therapy team, in time you move into doing your exercises somewhat on your own. You may think the therapist isn't watching closely, but any wrong move, you'll here a voice correcting your movements/tips on how you need to improve from the team. There front desk is welcoming and helpful with insurance and appointments working closely with the therapist who ensures your progress keeps moving forward. Your recovery and best health is the teams main goal for you to reach before you graduate and exit their doors as you say your goodbyes. They also provide cupping and dry needle acupuncture. One of my favorite part is the soft tissue massage. Jessica is amazing with the soft tissue. I originally went due to a pulled muscle which eventually got worse and had a bulged disc. Long story short, I had a hard time walking and in constant pain and left with almost no pain. Some places may have asked to continue coming back because of good insurance coverage but Adam said you should be good to go and left on my last day with exercise equipment and printout of exercises that I can do from home. When I started it was very painful to walk, and when released, I was able to walk a mile and more without difficulty. My therapist was Rommel Cuevo who I highly recommend. Rommel is a good listener and was very clear in his instructions during therapy sessions. I've been to that location previously and the therapist they matched me with has worked with me on other physical issues before, and he's really good. My schedule changed. I wasn't able to see him on the appointed day, and he's pretty popular so it would be several weeks before i got in. But they told me about their location in Riverside and Dr. Carrie, who specializes in the issue i was having. I jumped on that appointment. She was extremely patient with me, explaining what she was looking for specifically in each test, each activity. I felt i could explain everything to her, and never felt rushed. She explained next steps, even some that likely wouldn't involve her. I asked about other local doctors within that specialty, and she not only volunteered names but personally called and checked on availability--the whole time explaining that whether i used anyone she mentioned or my own specialist, it was important that I had a doc who would be able to have eyes on me for this issue. She could not possibly have been more helpful than she was. I may have been lucky. I don't know the other therapists in this office and i did indeed get seen by a doctor in a PT office whose specialty just happened to be exactly what my issue is. But the facility was clean, with bright windows. Great front desk help. And at least one superior therapist (probably more than one, i bet). Go to this one.

If you were injured at work or need to recover from an accident, sprains related to athletic activity, or surgery affecting mobility you could certainly do worse than one of their nine locations all over Illinois. That prevalence is a testament to the success they've found in addressing differing communities' needs for a clinic capable of specialization. But don't let that word discourage you, La Clinica's philosophy is to deliver expert knowledge and simplify the patient experience. They care about what they do and how they do it. My friend tells me they put him at ease and make the hard work of recovery manageable and perhaps even a little fun. Behind the counter you can hear the soft conversations of a small team of caregivers whose friendliness betrays a commitment to working together well, perhaps for their own sanity but I suspect it's most likely for the sake of their patients.
