According to the person on the phone they don't schedule after 4. I took off work early to head over and got there with a few minutes to spare. I spent 10 minutes filling out paperwork then 40 minutes waiting to be called back. Spent 5 minutes with the nurse, then waited 30 minutes for the doctor. Spent 5 minutes with the doctor and then another 35 for a physical therapist. 10 minutes with the physical therapist. Then they told me I could leave. 10 minutes later they called and said they had forgotten to take my pulse, so I would need to come back. I ran back from Midway and was asked to wait again. I said I'd rather not, as I felt 2 hours and 15 minutes was more than enough time to take my vitals and have me demonstrate I could in fact lift 50 lbs. They located a doctor who told me my pulse was on the high side of healthy. I indicated I thought that was a pretty good indicator of heath since I was angry and had just run there from the airport, and not in a figurative sense. This place is just unacceptable. Waiting at the doctor is to be expected, and I do it gladly the rest of the time. But they were slow, uncommunicative, and sort of incompetent.

I had to repeat therapy because they didn't have me do effective exercises. I used a pulley for exercise then sat in a chair for the rest of my session doing exercises. I could do that at home! I did my second round of PT at Fyzical on Archer. I highly recommend going there for therapy. The therapist works only with you not with four people at the same time. The therapists are watching you do your therapy and they will correct you if you do not do it properly. They are not talking to each other. They are focused only on the patient. Nice clean facility and very focused on the individual patient. RUN FROM ATI, they are there to socialize with each other not work.

Telling me she won't sign my back to work papers unless I do as she says. She told me the exercises which was different than my employer told me. I asked to see the paper to confirm it was from them so I could verify things were being done correctly. She said no and told me to stop asking questions. (This was my first question) . I said I'll do them but I just wanna verify. She flashed the paper for 1/2 a second and said ok now do them. At this point I'm like whatever I'll just do it I need the job. But then the manager came over asking her what the problem is. She says I'm refusing her orders and he laughed and said tell him the door is right there if he don't like it. (Very professional place). Honestly would've walked out at this point but I didn't want them to get paid for nothing so I stuck it out. She then explained I had to do all the exercises multiple times. I asked where it says this in the paper and She rolled her eyes and stormed to the front desk to grab her manager saying I was refusing to do what she said. Manager came to have a talk and honestly had to put him in his place saying there's cameras. Watch them if you want. Your employee is full of it. He walked away seemingly annoyed but it's true. I didn't refuse. I only asked to see the paper which work said I can see. The exercise was 5 minutes so I set a timer on my watch. 5 minutes go by and she says nothing. I continue for another minute still nothing so I just stop. She ask why I stop and I explained the time was up and showed my timer. She says "I didn't tell you to stop keep going" which I explain work only required 5 minutes and I went over that. She responded with "too bad you have to do what I say if you want the job. Either keep going or if you don't want the job that's on you". At this point I knew she wouldn't sign my paper (she didn't) so I just became a pain to show her that her power trip didn't work. Thankfully I had a video recording of our interaction and explained it to my work. They sent me to another place that treated me with respect and signed my papers. This place I wouldn't even recommend to someone I didn't like. Work is looking at canceling sending their business here too thankfully so none of us have to deal with them again. Take this as your warning not to go.

During the course of my treatment there (just over the course of a couple of months) I observed the following: 1. I watched medical professionals put bloody materials from my biopsy into the normal trash. 2. The sticker on the BP machine said it needed to be reinspected over a year ago and was expired. 3. At my last appointment, the doctor showed up an hour late to work so that he just entered with his first patient a half hour after I was supposed to be seen. 4. Generally bizarre scheduling protocols. 5. Barriers to receiving test results: they require you to be seen in office in order to release results. I complied, but then they gave me incomplete results, so I ended up having to reach out to the laboratory directly. 6. Significant lag on completing pre-authorizations requiring multiple follow-ups by the pharmacy, my external care advocate, and myself. It does look like they're improving this by collaborating with CoverMyMeds. 7. I was called the day after my attended appointment to reschedule my "missed appointment," except... as mentioned, I had attended it. 8. When asked for refills on a medication we discussed in session, the doctor refilled the wrong medication. At this point I've just decided to go elsewhere to continue my care because I do not want to have to engage in another series of phone calls to resolve this issue. For what it's worth, I did try to bring some of these issues to their direct attention. However when I have asked to speak with the office manager regarding poor communication from office staff, I was told they were unavailable and given no opportunity to receive a call back.

A young staff member explicitly told me that if I wanted a doctor who actually "follows up" with patients, I would have to drive to their Crown Point location because the remaining doctors here "will only be doing procedures" and leaving follow-ups to PAs. She told me if that didn't work, I should find a new practice entirely. The situation turned completely toxic when I returned for a rescheduled diagnostic shoulder procedure. I was blindsided at the front desk by claims that they wouldn't see me without records from a previous doctor I hadn't seen in over six months and had no clue what they were talking about and why was this mentioned before. While sitting there as the single remaining patient in an empty clinic, "Gabriella" from their main office called my cell. She was incredibly loud, unprofessional, and kept aggressively repeating, "If you don't like the rules..." while completely fabricating a "drug allergy" to block my appointment. Any and all allergies were already fully documented on my intake paperwork. Again, no clue where she was going w/all of this. The truth is, Dr. Pisca already knew the full context of my medical history and had cleared me for treatment for tpi's shoulder w/possible botox. The corporate office doesn't read the doctors' notes, and Dr. Pisca herself completely brushed me off and walked out the door while Gabriella was harassing me on the phone. It felt like a deliberate attempt to "dump" me as a patient because the doctor was leaving the practice.??? To make matters worse, a PA named Billy said he could perform the lidocaine shoulder block instead since Dr. Pisca had left. When I asked if he uses ultrasound guidance--crucial for me because a previous clinic punctured my lung--he confidently said "no, don't need to." I politely said no thank you and this wouldn't be a good day for a diagnostic based on all that has transpired today, plus the pain level was not that bad to get a good reading. They then went ahead and booked me for an appointment with a pa two weeks out Then, this Gabriella calls me on Tuesday, next day, and cancels the 2-week appt that was set up stating that I again should find a different place that for some reason I am uncooperative patient! She is the most obnoxious, rude and non-empathic person I have ever had to deal with. She talks over you doesn't listen to what u have to say, nor does she care. I am 80 y/o and she likes to intimidate and talk down to u. Worse yet, their general communication is locked in the dark ages. Phone contacting is absolutely horrible, and the staff explicitly tells you they do not do look at text or email communications. Trying to coordinate care or resolve an administrative issue with them is an exhausting nightmare. They wasted my time, my gas, and left me feeling completely humiliated in. They are an unorganized, aggressive procedure factory. And, Avoid this place at all costs.
