Always seems current and they have a way to strengthen most any area that is deficient. I'd have given five 's but their hours can be a bit limited and they don't have any late evening or weekend hours. If you normally work something other than first shift and want to keep your same schedule while doing PT you'll need to change up your schedule.

I had to come here for a pre-employment health screening. The are open until 7 pm. I called a week…read morein advance hoping to get an appointment after my 9-5. According to the person on the phone they don't schedule after 4. I took off work early to head over and got there with a few minutes to spare. I spent 10 minutes filling out paperwork then 40 minutes waiting to be called back. Spent 5 minutes with the nurse, then waited 30 minutes for the doctor. Spent 5 minutes with the doctor and then another 35 for a physical therapist. 10 minutes with the physical therapist. Then they told me I could leave. 10 minutes later they called and said they had forgotten to take my pulse, so I would need to come back. I ran back from Midway and was asked to wait again. I said I'd rather not, as I felt 2 hours and 15 minutes was more than enough time to take my vitals and have me demonstrate I could in fact lift 50 lbs. They located a doctor who told me my pulse was on the high side of healthy. I indicated I thought that was a pretty good indicator of heath since I was angry and had just run there from the airport, and not in a figurative sense. This place is just unacceptable. Waiting at the doctor is to be expected, and I do it gladly the rest of the time. But they were slow, uncommunicative, and sort of incompetent.

I went for pain management due to my spinal stenosis. I made an appointment with Doctor Pontinen at…read morethe Hazel Crest office. When I got there I was told they were very backed up and they wanted me to see another doctor. I said I specifically want to see Doctor Pontinen because of the great reviews I read about him and said I'd wait. He did see me and we decided on a set of steroid shots that I was told the goal was to relieve half the pain with the 1st set then two weeks later come in for a second set of shots if the 1st set alleviated some pain. Doctor Pontinen was very good and I just felt a couple of bee sting type pinches during the 1st procedure. About half the pain did go away over the two weeks and I went to the Midway Chicago office for the second set and saw Doctor Shukla. Very different results. The procedure was very painful and the Doctor said the pain will go away in about 15 minutes. Nope, never did. I actually had more pain after the 2nd set than after the 1st set. I decided not to go back and instead was referred to a Neurosurgeon my PCP recommended. In the meantime, I got my insurance EOB showing I overpaid $30 for my telehealth visit I needed to have between my 1st and 2nd sets of shots. This is where the big problem with MAPS is. They make you pay upfront but when it comes time for being reimbursed, it's a huge runaround...all for just $30! Every time I called I was transferred from one person to another. I was then told they can't reimburse me until they get payment from the insurance. I contacted the insurance and they said they paid on the 17th of the month and the check cleared on the 20th of the month. When I called back on the 23rd of the month, again a runaround finally getting a call back from their billing department in California! I was told they did not get payment yet from the insurance. I said not only did they get paid but the check cleared on the 20th! Now I have to wait until they verify what I told them from the insurance company. I have a bad vibe about this place and don't recommend it for anything other than maybe more minor aches & pains. If you do use them, beware of their office practices.
