He came in, told me there is nothing wrong with your feet. He recommended New Balance shoes. There is a NB store across street. The 10% off coupon helped a lot. I had a very positive impression with Dr. Fisher at first. After some persuasion, he agreed to do a…read morerather complex spine surgery for me to hopefully solve years of pain. I went through all of the testing and processed to prep for the surgery. A week before the scheduled surgery date my insurance company denied the claim. Dr. Fishers assistant told me she was filing an appeal with the insurance company. She said it would take 6-12 months to hear anything back, and also told me not to call for updates, she would call me when she heard something. I called a few times, regardless, to see if there was any progress. Just after the 12 month mark on my final call, Dr. Fishers assistant apologized and told me she had never actually filed the appeal and I had to meet with him again to start the whole process over. When I met with Dr. Fisher he did not accept any responsibility, and told me it was my fault. He said I should have been doing a better job checking in with his assistant throughout that year, and basically washed his hands of the whole thing. I didn't return to see him after this.

I saw Dr. Beneck for an EMG. He entered the room as I was completing the paperwork. He snatched the…read moreclipboard from me and said, "Let's get started". He abruptly told me to get on the table. I said, "I'm sorry I did not get your name"and he just mumbled "Beneck". I asked if I should tell what I felt. He said, "You can, but it doesn't make a difference". I asked "how badly the test hurt. He abruptly said, "How bad do you want it to hurt?". I am not sure who upset him, but it was not me. No patient should ever be treated abruptly and rudely. As he was testing, he would abruptly move my legs about. As he pressed the probe deeply into my leg, he never told me it would hurt, nor did he seem to care. I needed to pose my toes up or down on part of the test. I did not know what the procedure was. He simply grunted, "Down or up". I did not know what he meant or said the first time he said, down. When I did not move my foot, he reached back and pushed my foot down. I am glad I only needed to see him for a test.
