Dr. Romero was my Chiropractor and Physical Therapist. I feel extremely fortunate to have found Dr Romero. He coached me through pre-surgery strengthening for my knee and shoulder, so that recovery would be much quicker. I had chronic neck pain prior to the accident which required injections. Dr. Romero adjusted my neck a few times, it's been 2 1/2 years and I've had no flare ups, no injections, no pain. I now have full rotation of my neck which I was unable to do prior to Dr. Romero adjusting my neck. My upper and lower back took a little more time heal but, Dr Romero adjusted my back and taught me stretching and strengthening exercises to which has prevented flare ups. My healing and mobility is a direct result of Dr. Romero!

If I could have foreseen what was to happen hours after my surgery, I would have gone to another…read moresurgeon. I was under the knife, in the recovery room, and on my way home from surgery in 2 hours. J had called Lucero's office 2 hours after we had gotten home because I had noticed blood coming from the top of my dressing. Lucero told him that drainage was to be expected, and that it could be light pink in color. This is even though J mentioned that what we were seeing was red red...not light pink and that the whole dressing felt completely wet against my skin. Yes, I was drugged...but I knew something didn't feel right with the bandages. Lucero told J to have me come into the office the next day to have the dressing changed. He's the doctor, so we thought that we were worrying over nothing. Hours later, in the middle of the night, J ended up having to rush me to the ER for an arterial bleed. Finding me pale as a ghost, with blood all over the living room floor I imagine was not what J was expecting discover when I called out his name early that morning. According to the doctor at Good Sam, a branch artery was weakened/nicked during surgery. This was a simple "routine surgery" that was not so routine. More like rushed. To top it all off, I'm still experiencing pain and swelling...even with going to PT. After the baby is born, I'll be going back to see an Orthopaedic surgeon. Will it be Lucero? F- NO!

I went to see Dr. Armendariz for ankle swelling pain. He order bloodwork to rule out any underlining conditions and suggested a lace up ankle brace, which due to COVID and their billing staff working remotely, I was not able to receive a determination of benefits and charges. Issue #1 - I have NEVER received a phone call from anyone at their office with the results of my blood work. Five months later....still no results from their office! I just called their office again to ask for them. Issue #2 - They billed $209 for an ankle brace that I could have ordered off Amazon for $30!!! A 700% mark up!! YUP....SEVEN HUNDRED PERCENT!! Had I known how overcharged I would have been I would have denied the brace and ordered it online! The statements that they send demanding their extortionate fee, supplies you with the wrong phone number and wrong portal to pay! Once you are actually able to get a hold of a live person, they will not work with you to reduce their charge to a reasonable amount and state 'that is what your insurance ALLOWED US to bill you!' I informed the billing department that I would be appealing the charge with my insurance company, but in the meantime they sell your billing to a collections agency for pennies on the dollar instead of working with their patient to pay an appropriate amount for the item. I would have been willing to have paid a 100%, maybe 200% mark up...but NOT 700%!! Although Dr. Armendariz is a very nice doctor and appears to be very knowledgeable, I would not recommend this orthopedic clinic due to very unethical business practices, unprofessional staff, and lack of communication follow up.

My experience here was completely awful. I have had chronic injuries and pain in my right knee and…read moreafter recently spraining it I made an appointment. There are several doctors at this practice but I was with Dr. Muleski. I waited about 20 minutes, went back for xrays, waited another 20 minutes, was taken back into a room, and then waited for another 30 minutes or so. The waiting part is fine, I was expecting that. They are a busy practice with doctors who are juggling surgery, seeing patients, etc. However, when the doctor came in was when it started to get bad. He was friendly at first but as I started to explain my previous injuries his patronizing attitude started to surface. He talked down to me and made me feel like it was my fault that I had been given bad advice regarding my previous injuries, which in his eyes had never properly been rehabilitated (because I had never had surgery). After literally a 5 minute exam where he jerked my knee around and asked me where the pain was, he announced that he couldn't properly diagnose me because I wasn't explaining my pain to him correctly and that what I was describing didn't make sense. He told me to get an MRI and come back and then dismissed me by telling me it was time to put my shoes on (again in such a rude tone of voice). When he realized how badly I was limping, he treated me like I was completely incompetent because I hadn't told him this (I figured it would make sense that excruciating knee pain=limping). He made me get back on the table and this time did the same things but much harder (this included straightening my injured leg all the way and then pushing it towards my head which caused extreme pain that has not yet subsided). Again, he told me to get and MRI. Then...he left. Without giving me any instruction for what I should be doing, offering ANYTHING to help with the pain, reassuring me at all, he just left and told me to wait for the nurse. The nurse came in and told me I could wait for the office manager to get my MRI referral or have her call me. I opted to wait since I was told she'd only be a few minutes. 45 minutes later, she finally came in. Without apologizing she told me she couldn't actually schedule my MRI because the place had closed 45 minutes ago. She gave me my paper and told me to call them in the morning, then call back for a follow up. As she was leaving, I asked if I could talk to the doctor again. I let the office manager know that I was in a LOT of pain, and if I wasn't coming back for a week I would like to talk to the doctor about what he thought the best course of action was. She looked at me like I was a drug addict fiend and told me that the doctor "wouldn't give me anything anyway until he knew what was wrong with me". What doctor wants you to be in pain for over a week because he can't figure out what's wrong with you? I called back after making my MRI appointment, and when I did I told the receptionist that I would like to see a different doctor (there's 6 at the practice). I was told that there was only 1 other doctor (what??) and that he didn't take my insurance. I refused to see Dr. Muleski again, so I was told that I could get my MRI films and take them "to whatever practice I wanted" in quite possibly the rudest voice I've ever heard. I guess business must be good, because not a single person at this office made me feel like they cared about me at ALL.

Last week, during a service project in rural Costa Rica, in 85 to 90 % humidity, I shoveled, moved dirt and rocks, mixed concrete, moved cinder blocks, stacked building supplies, and other wo-manual labor. Then on Sunday I drove to Oceanside, CA. And drove back yesterday. Me duele todo el cuerpo. Even my hands. I shrugged my shoulders and it hurt. Jayla, at Space Massage Studio, used CBD oil, magical fingers, warm towels, and skill to work out the kinks and knots, and stretched out my hips. I limped in. I walked out.

This place is maddening with booking.
