I stopped by Athens Pizza in Myrtle Beach the other day around lunchtime with a couple of my neighbors, and man, I'm glad we did. I went with the cheesesteak and fries combo. Those crinkle fries were legit; thick, super crispy, and actually had some good flavor to them. Not the usual soggy ones you get sometimes. The cheesesteak itself was excellent. The roll really made it. It tasted fresh, almost homemade, with that perfect soft-but-sturdy bite that holds everything together without falling apart. I've tried cheesesteaks from a bunch of spots around Myrtle Beach, and this one is right up there with the best of them. Definitely gives the others a solid run for their money. I've been back a couple more times since and grabbed a gyro and a pizza on separate visits. Both were really solid. The gyro is one of the better ones I've had in the area. It was flavorful without being greasy. The pizza was tasty too, good crust and fresh toppings. Overall, this place has become one of my go to spots now. Friendly service, solid portions, and everything I've tried has been consistently good. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping in! read more

My husband & I enjoyed our meals very much. Both meals were served hot! The eggplant Parmesan was delicious. Two good size pieces of eggplant fried to perfection, over a bed of aldente pasta with mozzarella cheese and sauce. My husband's two good size pieces of chicken breast were juicy and cooked just right, also covered with mozzarella cheese & sauce. We discovered this is a family owed & operated restaurant. Service was excellent! The waitress even joked with us, because my husband didn't care for the side salad, extra bread was substituted. When the meal arrived the waitress said, "there are three pieces of bread, 1 for you & the other two are your your husband, don't try to steal it", and smiled. I've been here many times. Foods good. The staff to me is on the cold side not to friendly. I was disappointed I ordered a soup and it came with a small piece of bread. The Gyro is fine but the pizza was bad. It seem to have a premade crust base and they just put sauce and cheese on top of it. I got two slices and a drink for nine bucks. I took two bites, and no more left it on my table, shared the Gyro with my wife. We went in for take out dessert. Got these jacked up pieces of cheesecake and carrot cake. I saw the cakes in the display case. Both had neat sides and ragged sides. Not only did she give us the ragged pieces, the cheesecake was upside down in the container and the carrot cake was smashed against the side of its package. The taste was average. Wow what a find. Sometimes traffic is a good thing. As we were sitting in traffic we at 707 and 544 I figured it's better to eat than get aggravated. We stopped here and were more than pleased and satisfied. The meal started with a very fresh salad, then came the two entrees, Penne Rustica and Chicken Marsala . . . both delicious. I hate having to give at least 1 star. I had lunch there today. Being a picky eater, I went with the bruschetta. Who knew there was one way to make bruschetta and then there's the Greek way? What I got was cheesy bread with tomatoes and onions. (On the menu it just says Bruschetta.) I do not like onions in my food or at the most, a very small amount. It took a long time to get the server to come by the table but she did so after my friend went and told her. I asked for an order without onion. It seemed to me my order took forever. My friend had finished her meal by the time mine came back. I did complain about the length of time but the server insisted it had only been 5 minutes. I don't think I've ever had a server argue with me like she did. And one last thing, while I was waiting I noticed the floor under the dessert cart was disgusting! My thought was if it look like that in the seating area, I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like! I will never go back. read more
