Athens Fence installed a aluminum fence around our pool and did a very good job. They even came back and changed the opening position of one of the gates with no charge to me. Had issues with fence boards warping. They did send a sub contractor out to replace a few boards. However we have a huge fence with hundreds more warpinIt's near impossible to speak to anyone in charge". Extremely expensive. Decided to add screws to all remaining boards on our own since it was obvious Athens fence wasn't going to call us back. The actual men that built our fence were all's I sub contractor. Skip the expensive middle man. Hire a fence company that builds and stands behind their product and values their customers. Word of mouth is $$$, save yours! Four years later and I'm looking to replace this crappy fence. read more

I'm glad they closed so they could not sell a poor product to stickers, anymore. They were proud of the metal inside frame, but, it was so heavy that it dragged the wooden gate down until it was unusable. Then, they would say they would repair it for a lot of money. read more

I know several people in Athens that advise this used to be an okay business. However, following a nasty divorce a few years ago, all leadership and customer service has failed completely. Unfortunately, I learned this after they jerked me around for a year now. Jason Gee, the son, is a perfect example if how to destroy a family business. Not sure if it is alcohol, drugs, gambling or just laziness coupled with a don't give a dam attitude re customers, in my opinion. Of course I'm left to just guess what the problem is since they prefer to NEVER COMMUNICATE, and just show-up when they feel like it. In closing, Huntsville Fence is also horrible. Im convinced I should have gone through one of the third party contractor companies that provide insured, licensed prideful individuals. read more

Gave it a two because the fence is still sorta standing. The fence looks 20 years old and it's only 3.5 years old. It's farm fence. Posts are rotted, leaning, splitting and t-posts are coming a part and the wire needs re-stretching. After 17 calls to his office the owner finally came out and agreed it was a bad fence but said I'd have to pay for the labor to repair it. Ridiculous. Was installed by Raoul and the electric work done by him was hideous. They did send a different guy to do it properly. Raoul was slow and unreliable and obviously used awful material . They have stopped returning my calls all together and this is why I'm here. read more

DO NOT USE THEM! Liars. They sold us a fence they knew wouldn't keep our dogs in. Had an ex-employee working at our house and said person stole from them and us. There is non-coated hardware that was spray painted black and tension wire that is literally laying on the ground. We have called multiple times about getting our fence replaced/fixed and no one will return our calls. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

Don't let their prices reel you in. Hindsight is definitely 20/20 when it comes to this company. I would have rather paid the extra money for another fence company. Communication was horrible. Only one person has access to the schedule and they never answer. Having dogs we had already waited 4 weeks so didn't want to start the process over. When they finally showed up, they dug holes and didn't see them again for a few days. Came back placed post in holes (no cement) dug more holes came back 2 days later. After numerous complaints and me giving them an ultimatum to finish my fence or take everything with them and give me my deposit back, they finally finished. Dogs are happy except they left a mess and I'm done trying to call. Lesson learned. Please try other companies prior to this one and like I said they have the best price but horrible customer service, cleanliness, and communication in general. read more

Had an appointment at 4 pm for an estimate. At 405 Pm received text from salesperson that he just got to his phone and would will still be there if "he was late". We to.d him we had to leave by 420. No response from salesperson. When it starts like this with a company it usually doesn't end well. They must not need the business. read more

I had Athens Fence put up my fence for a large area around the backyard to close off the pool. The sides were shadow box and the back was aluminum to be able to see all the deer in the backyard. Multiple issues I had and still have now. First, they installed the shadow box portion and came back later to install the aluminum portion. The shadow box was not square and so they didn't have the right amount aluminum. The gate hardware had to be modified because they didn't do the gates correctly, plus both warped. Soon after the install, I turned on the sprinklers and had no pressure, they had broke through three different pipes for the sprinklers, even though I told them where all the pipe were at. Now I am finding out that they never placed the 4x4 poles deep enough in the ground. I have six so far that I found that are no longer secured in the ground. I fixed one so far, here's what I did: dug around the existing cement ball that only went down 8 inches, but dug down further, drilled into the sides, placed bolts into them, then I cemented. Now I have to go do that to the rest of them. I do not recommend this company unless you want to go through the same headaches I have gone through and remain going through. read more

The install was strung out over three weeks, and workmanship was poor. They tried to collect final payment before work was complete, a not once did anyone from the company call and ask if I was satisfied. Better off find someone else. read more

Beware! I hired Athens Fence Co to extend my fence from my garage to the side of my house. They came out, estimated the job, gave me a formal quote on their letterhead, and I proceeded to hire them. They ended up getting paint on my neighbors car and the neighbor called me about it. I called Athens Fence and they said they would take care of it and that they had insurance for just such an event. However, they never returned the neighbors call. After months of back and forth, they said that one of their installers did the job "on the side" so they weren't responsible. I responded with "I called Athens Fence Co, I have a quote on your letterhead, and I never was told that someone was doing this 'on the side' ". I filled a BBB compliant and Athens Fence continued to deny that they did the job. Be careful when hiring these guys. They may be a little cheaper, but very unprofessional. I ended up paying for my neighbors car repair because Athens Fence wouldnt take responsibility and it wasn't worth the hassle of small claims court. read more

I turned to Athens Fence company after the previous company I called, Tennessee Valley Fence, proved to be immeasurably incompetent. Jason and Anthony were really nice and very helpful with helping me get my fence safe for my pups and their price was a little lower than the other company's quote too. It took a little in the way of calling to get them out here but in their defense some of their crew was sick so it was taking them a little longer.
