They are very pleasant people, but not easy to deal with. Additionally, they are expensive. They charged me $140 to produce a single 1099-MISC, that I supplied all information for! Their new system and their demands became too difficult to deal with. Their questions seemed like audit questions rather than tax questions. And questions they should've asked about my taxes, they NEVER asked. They assume you know what should be submitted to them, and don't ask you any questions about what wasn't submitted. For example, in 2024 with the Mountain Fire in my neighborhood they should've asked about catastrophic losses. They know my address and know I live in the middle of many houses that were burned to the ground. They should've asked but never did. Fortunately, the question was asked for my 2025 return. Lack of competence or lack of leadership? Not sure which, but glad I switched.

The first thing I noticed was how responsive and friendly Michael was. It was clear that he cared about his clients and wanted to provide top-notch service. I explained what I needed and within an hour, I was able to log into his client site and upload the document he requested, a TurboTax file. He reviewed the document and got right back to me. He pointed out things I had missed and explained how I could file a 1040-X with the IRS. I was prepared to pay his normal fee for providing this service, which was fair, but he made an allowance for me because of the simplicity of my issues and charged me far less. It is rare for a business to do this. It's nice, and rare, to deal with someone so understanding, competent, and fair. I don't give gratuitous compliments. Michael earned every laudatory comment!

Normally, at a professional tax or business management firm, the person answering the office phone should at least be able to address basic questions or connect you with someone who can. Instead, she repeatedly said, "I'm sorry, Jessica Luengas is not available right now." I waited for a response from Jessica Luengas and her team, but no one followed up. Communication was very poor. It was also frustrating that there did not seem to be a regular team member, or even another tax preparer, available to answer basic questions. It made me wonder what kind of tax and business management operation this is if everything seems to depend on one tax person being available. For a firm offering these services, I expected a more responsive team and better client support. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm.
