Absolutely horrible ownership and management. Save yourself headache and find a different gym…read more Nothing but fraud, a scam, and some shady business! My fiancé and I moved an hour and half away on September 19th. We went in person to our gym late August/early September to cancel & let them know we are moving on that date. They told us the last payment would be September 20th. They wanted proof of an address change, which we would not have until after we closed on our house on the 9/19 and get the usps proof through the mail. I signed a cancellation form stating we are moving and the last payment would be 9/20. I received my usps proof change of address in the mail, and immediately sent it to their gym iPhone they told me to send it to when I received it in the mail. The manager, Yari, called me a few days later saying that now i have to sign another cancellation form and a payment in October would come out. I explained her that was incorrect. She clearly does not understand how the mailing system works. Completely useless manager. I asked for the gym owner contact phone number- left several messages 4 days ago and still have not received a call back. I then emailed the gym manager, Yari, asking for every single document with my signature on it as I will be putting a timeline together. Day 4 and my email is still ignored, which by the way, is illegal to not provide signed documents when demanded. I then sent up a follow up text to the gym iPhone regarding my email. They replied totally unprofessionally. I have provided the screenshot below.

If you're thinking about joining this gym, read this first…read more The Rock Fitness Center has one of the most predatory and downright desperate cancellation processes I've ever seen. I notified them my card was replaced and that I was canceling my membership in writing. Instead of canceling like any normal business, they kept trying to charge the old card, added late fees, and then told me they add $35 LATE FEES DAILY. I even offered to pay the actual cancellation fee. They refused and demanded almost double in "late fees" just to let me leave. Imagine a gym so desperate for money they have to threaten customers with illegal fees to keep them paying. That's exactly how this place operates. If this is how they treat members on the way out, imagine how they run everything else. There are plenty of gyms in the area with real integrity. This place is not one of them. I even work wayyyy to much to even go to the gym , they have made free money off of me for years and only been a handful of times each year, but still they do this.

This is probably one of the worst gyms I have ever been a member of…read more The facility is consistently unclean. There is often no soap available in the showers, the sauna and spa areas are filthy, paint is peeling throughout the facility, many of the machines are old and outdated, and the pool has not been properly heated for months. The pool was originally scheduled to be closed for maintenance from mid-March through April 16. However, as of May 29, it is still not fully operational. The heater remains broken, leaving the water uncomfortably cold. Throughout this process, members have repeatedly been told the issue would be fixed "tomorrow," "next week," "over the weekend," or "today." We were also told they were waiting to locate a pool heater repair specialist. Unfortunately, the promised timelines have continually come and gone without resolution, leaving many members frustrated and disappointed. After months of dealing with the pool issues, I began raising my concerns with management. The blonde manager who works the front desk during the late mornings was kind enough to refund my April membership dues due to the ongoing problems. However, when I requested a refund for May, I was told she had gotten into trouble for issuing too many refunds and could no longer assist me. At that point, I decided to cancel my membership. I do not believe anyone should have to continue paying for services that are not being properly provided. I contacted corporate, filed a formal complaint regarding the pool situation and refund request, and closed my account. I have since joined the YMCA and have been much happier with my experience. Until significant improvements are made to this location, I would strongly encourage others to consider alternative fitness facilities. Hopefully management will either invest in meaningful upgrades or take the necessary steps to address the many ongoing issues affecting members. What is most disappointing is that they were apparently willing to lose a paying customer rather than refund $39.00 for a service that has not been fully available for months. In the end, that decision cost them far more than a single refund--it cost them a member.

The Acquatic class lead by Howard is really cool. His moves and the music he plays is just right…read morefor this very mature group of people. Some people take this class to recover from surgeries or to stay limber and mentally positive. You can follow him at your own pace. No pressure there. This LA Fitness is near me and a busy place. I'm not one to spend time at the gym, but they do offer yoga and other classes as well. Staff is friendly and the place is okay. Plenty of showers and a sauna, or a jacuzzi to relax in. You can bring your own lock and place your things into a locker as well. Huge parking lot outside. Looks like parents can drop off their kids at the kiddy area while excersizing. Nice! Check it out, but read the fine print first, otherwise they will bill you for ever. Years ago I had to help my neighbor to get out of the contract.
