Atenea is a local coffee shop/bar/pizza spot. I stumbled upon it wandering around the city. It had a mix of patrons at night... people working on their laptops, families dining, and a couple of tourists (that was me!) showing my remarkable ability to forget every word in Spanish.
The service was fantastic. The man working there was very nice. Despite his (unnecessary) apologies for about his English skills, he got us everything we wanted and kindly. I saw that he was great with other customers, including kids, too. He gave the place a great vibe.
The food was pretty solid, too. The pizza was tasty and had a perfect crust. They had several beers on tap. And the after dinner coffee wasn't bad, either. And, at least compared to the places closer to tourist havens, the prices were pretty reasonable.
I left pretty happy that Atenea was the place I happened upon when I was getting hungry. It seems like a great place for a lot. read more
