My child has been in this program for almost a year. Master Simpson has been very delightful. He is diligent & patient with his students. My son is 5 years old and he loves it! He loves going to class and learning. They do celebrate birthdays & have these small functions in order to creat unique events that will be memorable for the kiddos. Master Simpson even hosted a spirit week for his dojo. Each practice had a different theme and my kid loved the different events that were planned. He got to dress to be an old man or had silly hair. I love taking my child here since it serves as an outlet for his extra energy. Master Simpson has been reinforcing the positive respectful behavior we have been teaching him at home. My son has learned a lot more positive lessons while working in his class group. My child definitely feels sad if he ever misses a practice. I would definitely recommend this Martial Arts group to any parents interested in putting their children into a fun learning environment. read more

Redlands ATA Martial Arts has been a part of our family for the last 5 1/2 years. From Tiny Tigers at age 5 til now age 10 and a black belt! The things Master Simpson has taught my son include (but are not limited too)honesty, respect, and self discipline. So happy that we found such a wonderful place for our son. First off, this is the only place in the Inland Empire that takes kids as young as 3. My son is super active and this ended up being the perfect spot for him. We originally signed up for the special of $39 for a uniform and 5 classes and then continued our journey with Redlands ATA because of how patient and kind the instructors are. My son struggled with focus and all around discipline in the beginning. He cried and threw fits (typical 3 years old boy, with more energy than he knows what to do with), and despite all of this, Sr. Master Simpson, Mrs. Simpson, Mr. Yates, and their wonderful leadership team were kind, patient, encouraging and got down to his level to understand his needs. The time they have taken to understand each child is beyond the job, and shows the true love and care they have for this sport and their ATA family. In just 4 months time, my son has completely grown into a whole new young man. His demeanor is better at home, in school, in class, and in public. Senior Master Simpson and his staff are amazing instructors. They are deticated the art of taekwondo and to teaching the students. They teach respect, integrity, disipline, and confidence, all while teaching you self-denfense and getting you into shape. I could not recomend a better place, I have notice a change in myself, for the better, since I started taking class with Senior Master Simpson and his staff and I look forward to every class. Here are the reasons why I gave ATA 5 stars... 1st star* because I am the 1st to review it. 2nd star** because of the cleanliness of the place. 3rd star*** is for the quality of the education. 4th star**** is for staff. And 5th star***** is for the overall rating. I love the interaction between the staff and the kids, there are some young kids there training to be instructors and its great to see them teach the little ones the ropes and they have such compassion for the kids, it's amazing. There are also fit classes and tai chi offered for adults. I have been a member there for 2 years and my daughter loves going. They make great friends while learning values and respect for one another. What I like is that they grow a respect for the instructors and apply it to their regular daily life. The place is owned by Master Todd Simpson and he's incredible with kids. His wife is super sweet and teaches classes there as well. They carry a respect towards eachother in the workplace that makes you feel so welcome and happy to be there. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

Rule # 1 ... NEVER SIGN A CONTRACT!!! Classes are good, but geared towards kids! You will be contracted/liable for 3 years ... $399/month plus they want another $120 to graduate just two peeps a belt.... then sell and only allowed to use overpriced ATA equipment ( starring at $900.00 each person),which is only stated after contract signed)! If you got extra $$$ then these classes are great! read more

This place is great if you can commit to paying. It's roughly $160/month for 2 classes per week. We came on a Groupon deal. Their staff is fabulous. My kids are 4 & 6 and learning so much already by their 5th class. I will be very sad when we can't continue. Worth the investment if you have more than one income. This place is awesome for kids! The instructors are super friendly and patient with the kids. They make it fun for the kids to learn. Also, they keep the studio very clean! We would have kept my son in there longer but he just wasn't interested in taekwondo just yet...but if he was we would have totally kept him in there. Highly recommend this place! read more

We have been members here since 2007 and I can not express in words how much Redlands ATA has done for my girls and I physically, emotionally and mentally. My oldest daughter started attending class with Master Simpson when she was 3 years old. She had an immediate connection with Master Simpson and quickly learned the ways of taekwondo. Master Simpson has a great spirit and connects with every child and family on a personal level. After a short period of time, we enrolled her in their Leadership Program to further her taekwondo experience. Since then my daughter has proven herself to be a very disciplined young lady having respect for adults and her peers. She continuously shows leadership skills and leads by example in school and home life. Redlands ATA often offers work out opportunities for family as well. I myself have taken multiple classes in which I learned skills to defend my self, a woman, in any confrontation with a potential robber, ect.. they offer classes for ages 3-100 with limitless opportunities to learn the ways and dicipline of taekwondo. My daughter is now 11 and has never taken a break from taekwondo. She loves attending classes daily, sometimes wanting to attend up to 4 a day! Not only is she a role model for her sister, she is a JR Instructor and a role model for all the Tiny Tigers. Which of course, makes me one proud mama :) She has compeated in tournaments across the western region of the US and has won the title of District Champion (California,Nevada,Arizona) in Combat Sparring and Traditional Sparrring AND State Champion in Combat Sparring and Traditional Sparring. She achieved all of this under the magnificent teachings of Master Simpson. She will also be receiving her 3rd degree black belt this year and is very proud of that milestone. If you are looking for a family friendly environment where your children can come learn life skills they will carry with them through their adolescent and adult years like confidence building, leadership skills, respect, then THIS IS THE PLACE!! read more

Unfortunately. I completely agree with the previous review by Kenny S. This place is alright. It's gear towards getting all kids a black belt whether or not they are actually qualified to receive their next belt or not! And the worst part is especially the contract. They are ruthless and refuse to break contracts for ANY reason. Not recommended. The only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is because Master Simpson is so great with kids. But, I do NOT recommend. Stuck in a 3 year contract with a child that is now bored because he doesn't feel challenged in their class. read more

My son decided he wanted to try karate so we bought a Groupon that said it was available for use at this location. When I called to schedule a class I was asked if I had already bought the Groupon and when I said yes the woman told me I could get a refund for the Groupon because they don't accept them anymore and haven't for two years but haven't been able to remove themselves from the list. She then offered me their "summer special" where I would get five classes and the uniform for $39 (the Groupon was for sixteen classes at $30). She then proceeded to tell me that even when they did take the Groupons they would give you sixteen "credits" and each class cost four credits. Overall the whole situation left my feeling like they were a shady place to deal with. read more
