I am extremely disappointed with the home inspection services I received. The inspector missed several major issues that became painfully obvious shortly after I moved in. Despite advertising their services as "thorough and reliable," they completely overlooked clear signs of water damage, serious siding and flashing problems, and clogged plumbing. These are not minor oversights--they are significant issues that have already cost me thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs. Communication was another major issue. I specifically questioned their standard operating procedures for testing plumbing lines, as I noticed they barely ran the water during the inspection. I was told that since one tub drained slowly, it indicated plumbing concerns throughout the house. Shortly after moving in, I poured a bit of drain cleaner down the tub, and the issue was resolved--only to discover that my main sewer line was entirely clogged. This major problem was completely missed by the inspector. A simple water test running for more than a minute would have exposed this, yet it was overlooked. To make matters worse, I had paid extra for the main line to be inspected--a complete waste of money given their lack of diligence. I trusted this company to provide a comprehensive and professional assessment of my property, but they utterly failed to do so. Their lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and overall negligence have left me with substantial repair costs and a deep sense of regret. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for a trustworthy or thorough inspection. We would recommend John and At Ease Home Inspections to anyone. My wife and I have used several home inspectors over the last four years due to moving cross country. Some of them were "OK" and some were downright worthless, only At Ease Home Inspections was what I would call "stellar" and worthy of a true five star rating We utilized John and At Ease Home Inspections several times in a few month period. I highly recommend At Ease Home Inspections. John and his associate did an excellent, thorough job of our potential new house. As first time home buyers, we have been a little overwhelmed by the process, but we knew we were getting a quality inspection. They spent about 3.5 hours on our starter home and stopped to answer questions along the way. There was even a snake in the crawl space and John got a picture of it! Speaking of pictures, the report that came in later that evening (quick turn-around time) was excellent. I was impressed with his absolute thoroughness, not cutting corners or being lazy about getting up in the hard-to-access areas of the attic or crawl spaces (he made sure his eyes saw every square inch). The absolute best and most meticulous inspection I have ever experienced.
