I went into the briar Creek location on two occasions. The first time was a very good experience I worked with Empress. She was awesome. My expectations were high, I must admit because of her interaction with me on a prior visit. Well today it was a totally opposite experience. The entire team, including three sales people, and the manager basically refused to help me. I had a very unusual situation and it was like they couldn't be bothered and were actively trying NOT to help me. I even had a customer service representative from AT&T on my phone asking them to help me, and they refused. We got conned and lied to. Traded our phones, got two watches and was told our monthly bill would be $185. Turns out the manager lied got us to sign the contract and now we are paying $245 a month. Every worker there has no people skills. Manager is a fraud and a POS. But hey they pulled a quick one on us. I would recommend a different carrier. Alex was in a rush during my meeting. As soon as I sat down he lied to me stating "you cant upgrade your phone today because your plan isn't upgraded". I did all the needed research prior to this visit and I already knew what I wanted done. I simply wanted to upgrade my 11 pro max to the 15 pro max, I didn't want to upgrade my plan and I was already aware I wouldn't be able to trade my phone in. I stated I didn't want to add insurance yet he added that to my plan and also added the Next Up feature without even asking me. With him rushing through the process he also didn't confirm my name nor address to which my new phone would get sent to. Now I will have to wait even more longer due to an associates lack of just simply doing his job. Very disappointing. read more

I came in for an upgrade and was told about an amazing deal that would ultimately save my family plan money. Being that my mother is the head of our plan I had to get her on the phone with me and reps before we could move forward. My mother and I both asked multiple upon multiple times what was the "catch" to this deal. Both the sale rep and the store manger constantly reassured that the ONLY requirement was to switch our bill to autopay and to trade in my current phone. As I said, my mother and I BOTH asked MULTIPLE times and each time they said the same thing. Two days later my mom notices a tablet had been added to our family plan with a new line, all without our knowledge or consent. We immediately called the fraud department of AT&T, thinking our account had been hacked. But the fraud department explained that it was just apart of the promotion that we had been given in the store. They were disturbed to find that we had not been informed of that very important detail. I went back to the store to gain more clarity on the situation. The lady who'd helped me, Yolanda, was not present but the manger of the store who had been there before was. The manager went on to blatantly lie saying she had disclosed the need to add a tablet that we did not even have.... This lady had the nerve to look me dead in the face and tell me that neither me nor my mother was capable of understanding simple information or the English language because she and Yolanda had in deed told us both about the extra line. There was obviously no point in arguing with her so I felt I had no choice but to just leave without any apologies or answers. And the saddest part ab the situation is that the plan even with the new line, did save us money so it ultimately was a good deal! I just don't understand as to why the sales people had to bluntly lie about it. Yolanda was very nice and friendly and I would have been happy to take any deal she had to offer, seeing as I did not initially plan to purchase accessories with my new phone but ultimately did because she made me a me such a good offer on a bundle that I simply could not resist. But now I'm left to ponder if that was bull too. If you don't want to be gaslighted, scammed or lied directly to your face by fellow grown adults, I suggest you avoid this location at all cost because these people are out to get ahead by any means necessary. Even if it comes at the cost of the very people who are earning them commission. As someone who use to be a cellular salesperson, I know all too well that these individuals will work the system to get over on people without revealing all of the details. This place has the worst customer service in the history of customer service. They don't understand their services and products and it wound up costing me big. It started when I walked in the store in Dec 2020 and talked to salesman Darien/Damien about a possible upgrade to my phone. He gave me a bunch of options and I decided ultimately not to do it because one of the discounts he had promised me wouldn't come through. So I just walked out, keeping the same AT&T service I had. Or so I thought. Couple weeks later I get a bill and discover that he's actually changed my phone service from choice plus to choice elite. Have no idea why he did this, apparently he was trying to show me how something would be cheaper if I bought a new phone. The problem with this change is that I lost my $25 per month discount for AT&T Now streaming TV, which I've had for years. I called AT&T and spent, literally, hours on the phone trying to get the discount back. Turns out I can't get it back because it's a grandfathered discount and they don't offer it anymore. I lost my grandfather status when they changed my phone service. I explained the problem, they said there's nothing they could do. They gave me a $25 refund for one month and that's it. So basically this guy messing around cost me $300 per year in discounts on my AT&T Now service. Wait, it gets worse. Then my cell phone bill goes up from $69-$111. Why? After many more hours on the phone, I discovered it is some kind of change fee for changing the service, which I never requested but which the guy did in the store, and then changing it back. After more hours on the phone, I got a refund for that extra $40. I never signed anything. I never agreed to any change. This guy cost me hours on the phone and lots of $$$$. I have since canceled all my AT&T services altogether. Because I refuse to give money to and organization that is this screwed up. One final note. I went in the store to explain what happened and ask them to fix the situation. They told me to "call customer service", and there's nothing they could do for me in the store. Having 7+ years in the Customer Service industry, I'm an individual that knows great service. From my first experience in walking into the store and even being reminded that "Sir, you need a mask.", I was assisted by some of the best individuals you can encounter working at a CORPORATE retail store. Mr. Brown has and continues to show exemplary service. He answers inquiries with knowledgeable tact and precision. Mind you, let it be noted that I'm only giving THIS STORE a 5-Star review. Being INTJ, I prefer to browse about, find what I'm looking for and if I have questions, then start asking the appropriate person. LaShea was brought to us by the person who greeted us, and she was low pressure. We wanted some ideas on what to do about a wireless hotspot. She guided us through some options and came up with the most cost effective bang for the buck. I touched the device that was on display to try to get a better look at the screen and apparently it was wired to set off some pretty loud security alarms... I went to this store (Att store in Brier Creek) in July 2020 to upgrade my phone plan. The salesman was nice and helpful but when I looked at my bill, he had added a $15 protection plan without my knowledge or consent. He never mentioned this protection plan to me, never asked if I wanted it, just added it to my bill. read more

I came in to try and return a phone since I ordered a new one. I waited 30 minutes (patiently) to avoid having to deal with the Post Office and I was told that I can't return a phone to them since I ordered online. I didn't order online, but in another store. My response was "I'm trying to return an AT&T phone, in an AT&T store, for my new AT&T phone." To which I was met with a rude response. I'm sorry that you're a busy store but this is not a difficult request and it should not have been met with the response I received. I won't quote the person here, but it was unprofessional. Do your job. Especially when folks understand the stress you deal with in a client-facing role. The woman who helped me directly was fantastic, however, the manager was rude and unprofessional. Avoid this store if you are looking for resolution to minor issues, quality customer service, common sense or employees that seem to care. After spending 40 minutes at this store location at Brier Creek, I approached "Chad" a "fill in" manager as my name had been displayed in the #1 position on their "now serving" monitor for over 20 minutes. I was informed by Chad that the store had no technician and I should take the phone to a store in Cary, NC as they accepted walk ins AND they had a tech on site. Had they told me this when I first arrived, I would have saved my time, the aggravation (And the time to write this Yelp review) After speaking with Chad, I was told that the store was/is "short staffed" and he understood my level of frustration. (This came after I informed Chad that I would be writing this article this evening). I left the store with the 2 Samsung 5 phones that I purchased from them in June. They can talk you into purchasing phones and plans.....however, that's just about it. read more

I'm giving this store a five star rating, but I have to make it known that it's only because of the service I received at this location. The staff was efficient, courteous, and over the top helpful in understanding and addressing my needs and that is where the story begins... I had gone in to replace a broken iPhone. The gentleman that helped me (his name began with a J) was awesome. He spend considerable time browsing my bill to find a way to trim it back so I could take advantage of all the savings possible. Where the story hinges is, he pointed out that I've been paying for a landline that was deactivated in 2015. (After much waiting on a phone call inquiry, and six transfers later I was told it was actually Dec 2013). I was appalled at first but then decided I would look into it later. My wife being the consummate bill payer, had set up alerts in 2013 that had AT&T send text notifications to our cell phones when our bill was due. In short, We had been wasting $1680 on a land line that's been deactivated since Dec 2013. I went through at least two hours of phone time only to have a supervisor tell me: 1. There's nothing he can do 2. They don't have people monitoring phone lines for overcharging (but they do monitor for service interruptions) 3. I had to call them and TELL THEM I wanted to remove it 4. They send a detailed phone bill out every month ( we've had text notifications sent to us since iPhone 4 and haven't SEEN a paper bill since 2013) 5. THERES NOTHING HE CAN DO... Be warned, AT&T is not your friend. They are there to protect their interests and theirs ONLY. Funny though, they made sure that I received all the money I was owed on a phone from another company that they partner with, but I pay them for usage of their service, doesn't that make me a partner too? After almost 10 years of being loyal customers it saddens me to know that my service provider doesn't care about how much they overcharge me, but are intent on making sure I pay them on time. That $240 a month could have gone into a savings account, a Christmas fund, our kids student loan provisions, instead it lined the pockets of the CEO and employees. Side note: I probably won't get a response considering the fact that the AT&T page on FB is littered with disgruntled posters complaining about the lack of care and or service resolution this company provides. Out of the five post I read upon my visit, there was no representative response given... It would seem that there motto is, don't face the music, just collect the money. read more

I just had the most outstanding customer service that I have ever had from anyone. The employees name was James Hayes and he was fantastic. He instantly greeted me at the door and was so helpful right from the start. Now I was an easy customer, I dropped my iPhone in my garage, and the screen shattered to peices (so you can imagine how I looked walking around with a smashed phone that was taped together, no lie) so I needed a new one. I had an upgrade, and already knew the exact phone I wanted (iPhone 4s), and was willing to splurge on a good case, because lets face it, the one I had before wasn't protecting me so well, so he didn't actually have to work on convincing me to buy anything. He was just so helpful when it came to everything else regarding the phone. He helped me set up my email so that it automatically links to my computer, which he was just doing to be nice, and he helped show me how everything worked, put the screen protector and the case on for me, and got me set up with insurance (just in case). He answered all my questions and was very patient and pleasant. He was so easy to work with and I left there feeling refreshed and happy, even though I had to drop $270 on a new phone/case. Needless to say if he is around, ask for him. If not, i've gotten good customer service from everyone i've encountered there, so you're in good hands. read more

Went in really quickly because I have been thinking of upgrading my phone & service since I have been eligible for quite some time. Apparently, Garry (aka "Mr. Personality", is new bc every time I asked him a question, he couldn't tell me an answer besides one of the features on the newest iPhone. Now, nothing about being new-we all have to learn at some point, right? However, this guy never smiled, only had one-word answers besides "I don't know" and hardly engaged in eye-contact. He acted tired and bothered that I came in. I even asked him if I came in too late & if they were closing as he was looking at his watch and I was afraid I was holing him up! (I came in around 7:30p-they closed around 9p if I remember correctly.) Garry also didn't go out of his way to find out what would be best for my situation. The ONLY reason I am giving this two stars is bc another gentleman (tall, African American with a beard who I didn't get his name) had to step in and answer my questions bc "Mr Personality" wasn't stepping up! What could have been a great opportunity for Garry to learn from the more experienced employee, instead he was zoning out and looking down at the floor. So much so that when I asked him something, I had to call out his name bc he was looking down. He looked up and was like, "huh?" The other employee even had to tell him that I was asking him a question and he needed to pay attention! This job is NOT Garry's calling. I am sure he is a nice guy, but without a personality and a drive to pay attention to customers he is a lost cause and is probably losing sales & other customers. He needed to listen to my needs and questions so he could fit the right product and service to what I truly needed. I was ready to spend some serious money, but I could tell it was NOT the right time-nor the right person giving me advice. To the other gentleman, he was fabulous. Great eye contact, smiled, engaging, ambitious and knew his stuff. Too bad Garry couldn't shadow him more. I will just keep what I have for a little while longer. read more

As a new customer, I regret making the switch at AT&T due to the issues I encountered at this store. It took a total of 5 visits and 6.5 hours of my time to resolve issues that were their fault. This is my opinion, highlighted and embellished with facts: Several things have me very upset with AT&T lately. I've been a customer of AT&T since bag phones and monthly minute plans, and have never been treated so shabbily. I have a Galaxy S6 Active that flat-out quit, wouldn't charge, wouldn't run. Took it to the Brier Creek AT&T store 9/28, manager (young tall gentleman, never got his name) said he could not do a warranty exchange. Incredible, but it gets worse. He says I need to go to Cary NC, where they do warranty exchanges. I said "what if I get there and they don't have an S6 Active?" He said "oh, I'll call them to check". Well, they didn't have one, but in his Brier Creek store, he had a boatload of them in the back. No way could he spare one for a current customer - policy, process, blah blah blah. No concern about a customer with a dead phone. He gave me a GoPhone loaner, told me call Cary store, they put me through the same questions he already put me through, then gave me a number to call, where I got to repeat everything again. Total 3 times. Bad customer service, I don't care what the policy or process is, he is driving me away from AT&T. Two days and $14.95 for premium shipping later, I get the "new" phone. I have to go back to the Brier Creek store to get my number connected to the Galaxy S6. Pain in the "you know what". Because I've been subjected to long waits in that store, I took the advice of the lady at AT&T service 800 number and scheduled an appointment. I've noticed on previous visits, they skip over me and serve people ahead of me that have appointments. Now I had one, for 1:00pm. I arrived and signed in at 12:40pm and waited my turn. At 1:03pm, a Rep named Steven skipped me and went to a walk-in customer. I said "I have an appointment for 1:00pm". He replied "Oh, I'll just take care of this other customer, then I'll be with you". I said no, I have an appointment, and you always take those people ahead of me when I don't have an appointment. He went and spoke with his manager, Carla (Karla?) and she told him to help the walk-in customer. I said no, you're going to help me first, I have an appointment, arrived 20 minutes early and waited for an available Rep after 1:00pm, and it's you. He said, "I can do you both at the same time". Hah - took him 10 minutes to fix my situation, so what he proposed was 2 customers sit there and watch him work on someone elses issue instead of getting his undivided attention (Customer Service 101). The real issue? AT&T couldn't care less. They put these 30-something people in place, give them "procedures" but do not allow them to make decisions based on common sense. I bought the phone there, I should be able to exchange it there. The manager has looked it over, determined it had no physical damage and was not working, I should not have to repeat the story 3 times, wait 2 days, pay $14.95, return to the AT&T store and wait in line. Like I said - I've been with AT&T forever, but even forever can end. They do not provide an email or web forum to send them complaints like this, so I will cut-and-paste this and put it on every available site. Next time, it's Verizon for me. I don't know if their customer service is any better, and there is no way to find out ahead of time, but they certainly can't be this rude, greedy, ignorant and unprofessional. And by the way, I do recall getting great customer service at the AT&T North Hills store. The difference is I was always buying something new there, never needed technical assistance. But I will visit that store next time, before I totally quit AT&T. And no, AT&T, I do not want an email from you either. Just read your reviews, trust them to be accurate and fix your issues. read more

Drive ANYWHERE ELSE! Took an early lunch to avoid a crowd. ( WEEKEND BEFORE WAS A ZOO.... SEVEN PEOPLE ON THE BOARD BEFORE ME) there were 8 people in the store. A Greeter, the Area Manger three sales reps and the customers I was greeted , by tired looking girl and put on a waiting list. A customer sat on the front counter while chatting with one of the sales reps and the Manager. Thirty minutes later. .. yes, you read that right, 30 MINUTES, after asking the Greeter and the sales rep I was still waiting. The Sakes Rep said he was "waiting on something to print" and then he'd be right with me. Asked to speak to the manager. The poor Greeter had to come tell me the Manager was on the phone and would come or when she could. I all for her name. "Smokey". "Smokey what? " "I don't know. Let me go find out. " I walked out feeling like I was intentionally snubbed. Incompetent and rude. read more

After waiting, we told the associate what we wanted. He then tried to tell me I needed to download the AT&T app, I told him no I didn't want it. I went into this store to upgrade to an Iphone 11. I kept my Iphone6 as a back up phone with an additional phone number. I repeatedly asked for a copy of my bill, the salesman refused. He kept saying everything we discussed will be on your bill. When I finally got my bill in the mail it is $350 with fraudulent monthly charges for services I never asked for including Protect Advantage Insurance, Protect Advantage Support, and Next Up. I've also found the grandfathered discount I've held for 30+ years as a loyal customer is gone. Two $30 charges, one an upgrade charge and the other an activation charge. I've spent hours on the phone with AT&T support, no one will get me to the right department, keep saying there is nothing they can do, they refer me back to the Brier Creek branch. I called the branch, the young fellas there say only the manager can help, they refuse to give me the her phone number, her name is Dairo Lopez, they say she is in "quarantine" with no idea when she'll be back in. This store really screwed me over royally....STAY AWAY and get EVERYTHING in writing the young guys working there are shysters and liars. If I can't get this resolved with AT&T support today I'm cancelling service and getting Verizon. read more

Walked in to add a phone to my account, just needed a SIM card. They took my name, told me 5-10 minutes, so I started to look around. 10 minutes turned into 40 without any explanation, and my 3 yr old was getting antsy. I eventually asked how much longer, and was told another 5-10 minutes! When I asked why so long, they said they can't really estimate wait time. If they told me 45 minutes when I walked in, I would have come back, and not made my son wait. Would not return to this location. read more

Just avoid this store. Ordered an iPhone online for pickup in the store thinking it would be faster than normal. Wrong. After receiving notification from AT&T that the order was ready for pickup, I drove 30 minutes across town only to find that that the phone was locked in a drawer and the only person with "the key" was at lunch. The manager immediately became defensive when I called her out for having only one key and no way to reach the employee through his mobile number. Left with no phone. Buying a car is easier than getting a new phone at an AT&T store. I don't think the manager of this store cared whether we got the phone or not. read more

Having been to the Garner, Cary, and the Apex store there is a clear difference in customer service. My family always opts to go to this branch to purchase our devices or just to tinker with what we have. Even though it's a bit of a drive for us, it's worth it every time. I've learned from experience that a sales person will do anything for a sale. This held true with my experience when deciding to switch to AT&T. The sales person appeared to be helpful and said "we had a connection" and was initially nice. He also inconvenienced me at one point and because he "didn't want to waste anyone's time," promised me a credit to my account. Over the course of several weeks, I followed-up and continually was promised it was being taken care of and his manager was going to credit my account. Yet, nothing was credited. Eventually, he simply stopped responding altogether. I took it upon myself to go speak to a manager myself, where I finally got this resolved. I was also promised a $300 gift card within four weeks of signing up for their service. Again, not so much. I called the same manager who helped me last time but, again, zero response. It's now been eight weeks and, after multiple attempts and phone numbers to reach a live human to talk to, I have learned my gift cards ($100 each rather than one $300 gift card) were not processed. And part of the amount was missing by $100. Now, they claim, they've been processed and the full amount is there but it will be another 2-3 weeks before I receive the gift cards. So instead of 4 weeks, it'll be closer to 12 weeks. Nothing has been easy with this experience with AT&T and, knowing what I know now, I would never have switched! The customer service is terrible, the ability to find a live person to talk to is terrible, the ability to find a local phone number for the store is only on their business cards and, bottom line, they simply want to make a sale. So, unless you love a difficult challenge, then save yourself and don't switch to AT&T. Note: I left this same review on their own site, to which it was removed (rather than addressed) and likely why the most recent reviews are from 4-5 months ago. Additionally, it's now over a week later and I've still never heard back from the store manager, par for the course regarding the customer service (er uh lack thereof) at this store. I do not recommend this store/business whatsoever. Update: I had to call again for the third gift card and track that down, waiting another 2-3 weeks because they had to "verify" my account (again!). It's taken more than three months to obtain all three promised gift cards. So not worth the hassle. Don't do business here, it's just one hassle and ploy after another!!! read more

I stopped by here in late July because I was getting frustrated at the inconsistency of my reception and service. I was also in the mood to shop for a new phone since my candy bar model was kinda outdated. Immediately James Hayes walked to meet me at the door. This always rubs me the wrong way because it reminds me of car salesman acting like sharks. Making big purchases can be overwhelming and a lot to think about. I told him so. He backed off a bit, but he listened to my tall order of a request: wanted a keyboard, no smart phone, easy for hands weakened by carpal tunnel, not too expensive, and must have good reception. After allowing me room to breathe James showed me to a part of the store that had phones which might accomodate my demands. Then I asked him to describe each phone for me before leaving me to process my potential purchase on my own. I picked one out and walked back over to him with a grin on my face. This is the one: it has a keyboard, doesn't have to go on the Internet, and is environment friendly (made of recycled materials). He then told me his opinion of it and we deteremined that we'd found the perfect fit! Next issue...I had far too many contacts that would be allowed on a SIM card so it would be difficult to transfer them from the old phone to the new one. Not to be dissuaded, after working at it James made it happen. He got all of my nearly 300 contacts onto the new phone. Then he analyzed my phone plan and asked me about my phone usage and found a way to save me $5 on my bill each month! While working on all of these things he also took some time to get to know me and ask about what I do, where I'm from, etc. I always appreciate this, especially when it seems sincere -- and it did. Upon my departure he walked me to the door and waved goodbye, "Cheers!" Well, recently I went back into that same store. See, my Evergreen was stolen so the replacement was a refurbished phone that was having some problems. James was busy so I accepted help from Mauricio, an assistant manager. He quickly went into his computer to place an order for a replacement. Once his customer had left, James looked up and saw me. He recognized me immediately which I really appreciated. Here I hadn't been in this store in 4 months and this guy still remembered me and so much of what we'd talked about. Somebody give this guy a raise just for making me feel like VIP! Mauricio was finishing up putting my order in and making jokes so my time spent with him was enjoyed as well. The North Hills staff is good, but this is, hands down, my favorite AT&T location simply based on customer care. They listen to their clients and make the process go as smooth as possible with ease. read more

It seems AT&T will only give deals to new customers once again they don't care about their existing customers they would rather lose them to another provider I guess loyalty doesn't count for anything anymore we currently have our cell phones internet and TV with them but will be canceling everything in the next week or two. To bad these companies don't seem to care about loyalty just making profits read more

Erin (female staff ) was wonderful. She listened to my gripe about my phone without taking it personally. She also gave me all of of my options without being pushy or urging me to buy a phone immediately. read more
