I like Trancas Crossing Park (TCP), but my dog? He REALLY likes it…read more TCP is a nice, small park with a good walking loop that's a little over 1/2 a mile. It is an on-leash park, so don't plan on letting Rover rove. But the loop is flat, paved, and easy. There is some damage (you can see in photos) to the trail, but at this point it has been re-routed so it's an easy walk. The park itself is pleasant to walk through and take in the nature. There are signs around telling you what you're looking at, some historical info, and paths down to the river (including a kayak launch). What I like about this place - you can walk the pooch without the fear of foxtails that Alston creates. It's quiet, and not too busy, so if you have a crazy ass puppy (talking to my dog here), you can walk them without much fanfare. There's clean restrooms, dog waste bags, and even handicapped parking near the loop. A nice, quiet option that's dog friendly? Sign me up. Pro tip: it takes at least six loops to wear out a Labradoodle puppy.

Although there weren't other dogs that day, Midnight still had a lot of fun running unleashed, back and forth to mommy and daddy! I loved looking at the bright orange poppies and other flowers as we explored, as well as the nice bridge in the distance! If you look for this park on Google maps it also comes up as Stonebridge Park. The best way to…read moreaccess this park is to turn on College Avenue from Pope Street and then drive all the way to the far end of the parking lot. This is considered a dog park, but there's more to it than that. At the entrance you'll find eight picnic tables on concrete with a couple of large grills and a fountain. If you walk towards the rear of the park, that is where you will spot the enclosed dog park which is out of view from the entrance. You'll also find a nice dirt path that runs around the perimeter and the dog park. If you find yourself here in the summertime you'll notice there's lots of blackberries growing wild next to the trail. It's a great park to have a picnic at or bring the pooch, but there are no public restrooms here. Informative photos included.
