Great price for copper. Really friendly guys, free water as you wait for them to unload your car, sort stuff, weigh it, and pay you cash.

I love this place and highly recommend it for dropping off recycling! This recycling center is…read moreabout equal distance from me to the drive-thru recycling center on Westpark. I much prefer this one though, because of my flexibility to walk around and throw items in the bins they need to go in. Personal preference - I just feel like I get more satisfaction out of that rather than be rushed and have people grab stuff out of my trunk and do whatever with it haha. I first came by on a Saturday morning and afterwards, we hung out and walked around Bear Branch Park right next door, on the same property (I think). There is an employee who is stationed at the cardboard section (the biggest tin on site) and he's super helpful, especially if you have large pieces you need help with. I brought my 9 ft. Christmas Tree box without breaking it down, and the whole thing fit and was thrown in there. Nice! Keep in mind, there is only one entrance and exit, so please don't block any of the paths to lead to the exit! Also, always be sure to turn left to get out. To the right, will lead you to a dead end.

It's very organized and they do have staff on site to guide or assist you. They have everything sorted by paper, glass (brown, green, and clear), plastic, tin and aluminum cans, cardboard, and even a spot for lawn waste (lawn clippings, leaves, branches) It's not too confusing, very self explanatory once you drive in, it's a small area though and if it's you're first time it is hard to find, you have to really pay attention. I love coming here to drop off my recyclables, I just wish they had more and longer hours, they're open Wednesday 4p-7p and Saturday 9a-2p, but overall I have a good experience here, just drop and go really.

Stopped on a Thursday morning and the drop off wait system is confusing. There are apparently 2 lines, one for the dump waste and one for recycling. But you can't tell where one starts or ends. Drove in and was a bit confused about the process. 2 men standing outside, neither acknowledge me. I get out of the car and a young lady comes out of the building and asks to help me. I explain to her what I'm dropping off and she asks me if it works. I say yes. I said it has these burn marks on the inside (one of the caveats of this Cuisinart model was that it's difficult to remove heat or grease marks - main complaint from most consumers and there are no replacement parts) She tells me to back in and take it out of the car. As I open the trunk, the guy finally acknowledges me and asks the lady if it works. She tells him what I said. And he yells, we aren't going to take it bc it's dirty. I respond "it's not dirty, there are burn marks that you can't remove, let me show you. " He says, "we don't recycle dirty equipment". I look at the dirty washing machine he is fixing and said fine and walk off. The young lady apologizes repeatedly and suggest I give it to one of the guys waiting in the long line for the dump side. I ended up going to the Westpark location where the employees are nice and polite. Maybe he was having a bad day or deals with crap people but I didn't do anything deserve to be treated so rudely. Nevertheless, I will stick to Westpark.

Southwest Neighborhood Recycling Center - Ok. Someone put 5 over the sign. If you say you open til 6, then leave it open. Or, change to 5:30.

But there is only one way in and one way out. That means you have to wait for the trucks at household dump to be cleared before you can move forward. Yikes. On a Saturday afternoon right after the new year, I finished my plastic and paper recycling. Then, proceeded to exit. But the one and only line has not moved for 30 minutes. Because there were only 4 stalls for household recycling. I saw another way below the ramp to household recycling. But it says do not enter. They should have another person direct traffic to ease our pain.

Even before the pandemic, it was organized and easy to navigate. One just drives up, shares zip code (while masked), and shares what you're hoping to recycle. The helpful and kind staff tells you which bin and how to place it in the container. It can seem overwhelming the first time, but once you've been there more than once, you'll get an idea of all that can be recycled i.e. trees, furniture (but call to ask what kind), oil, cardboard, glass, aluminum, etc (check their website to be sure). *Be sure to bring an gas or water bill with you to verify residence* It's usually a fast and efficient trip. I don't know about you, but once I get rid of something I have been wanting to get rid of for a while, I feel relieved. I always leave this place feeling relieved. Thank goodness this place exists.
