If you are needing a specific spice or ingredient to make that special dish, this is the place to go. This place has ingredients for all types of cooks including gluten-free, vegans, vegetarians, etc. The staff is helpful and friendly. They have different store hours (see attached photo). They are located on Sixth street in New Westminster (just across the street from Royal City Centre Shopping). There's parking on the street or just as easy, park in the Royal City Shopping Centre for free. Exit at the doors near the food court and Goodway's is across the street.

Mostly to ensure freshness and shelf life they vac seal most of their meats to keep prices low by preventing meats from spoiling. They do carry bison and venison in half lb but it's frozen. The only issue I had is the shape of the frozen half pounder. I would have needed to fully defrost it to re shape it into a freezable shape for my own freezer organization. They do have some nice deli options. I didn't see any cheese I thought I did on Google. It is family run. Like. Son father mother that explains a lot why they have stunning reviews cuz they are all 100% fully invested in the customer service experience of their shop. Super clean. Bright. And prices are clear. I will be back. $10 Lyft ride from new west to where I live in Burnaby. Same price as ride from Metrotown getting groceries. They have a free parking lot in the back for customers, so that kinda sweetens the deal too. The selection of fruits and veggies is limited, so...not a place to get all of your daily needs. A great place for potatoes though, and definitely worth checking out for certain fruits and veggies, depending on what they might have on sale each week. For example, I have seen some pretty good prices in their flyer for things like eggplants, apples, and zucchini.

For me though, as someone whose Mom came from Trinidad, this place is my "go to" for Trinidadian foods. I like coming here whenever I need to stock up on dried sorrel which I use to make a Trinidadian drink called Sorrel. They also sell Sorrel syrup and ready made bottled Sorrel for those who prefer an instant beverage. I've found from past experience though that Sorrel always tastes better when it's homemade. I was excited to see Peardrax and Sea Moss on the shelves. (More Caribbean beverages that I drank when I was in Trinidad) They also have Chadon Beni (a popular condiment in Trinidad), frozen roti wraps, Callaloo, Scotch Bonnet peppers, salted cod fish (something my mom has a taste for), and bottles of Limacol. (Used in the Caribbean as a skin refresher). There are a ton of other offerings in their store but those ones are the most familiar to me. I came home with plant based versions of chicken wings, crab cakes, bagel thins, smoked salmon, cream cheese, ravioli, and chicken pot pie. My husband and I feasted on the Breathe Kitchen Chick'n Pot Vegan Pie, as well as the Living Tree Foods fish free smoked salmon and dairy free cream cheese spread on top of O'Doughs bagel thins for dinner that very same night, and while the food may look quite simple, it was all soooooooooo good! Our Ninja Foodi machine made the prep work super easy too as I was able to cook the Chick'n Pot Vegan Pie in only 20 minutes, instead of 40 minutes as was mentioned on the instructions. Really looking forward to trying out the rest of the goods that I brought home.  They've got all sorts of cool foods at their store. I was quite tempted by the Mac n Cheez with Bacon bits pie, the Cheezburger pie, and the Tiramisu. Three more reasons for me to go back to the store sometime!
