Ultimately, we decided on comfort bikes (great choice) and took the shuttle to Wilton per the recommendation of the lovely lady that assisted us, so that we can go through tunnels 2 & 3. She also gave us trail tips during the shuttle ride, showed landmarks and told us about the history of the trail. The bikes were in great shape and we were provided tools to take with us on the trail in case we catch a flat tire.
