Took my daughter to see Dr Campbell, really liked her a lot! Great doctor, very gentle natured and…read morefantastic with little ones. Then it came to the office staff, not as easy to deal with nor the ability to get a message back to the Dr as I was instructed to do if the problem returned. Shortly after we went there, I moved & had to switch pediatricians. I did receive a bill for $8.00 which my insurance didn't cover (not sure why secondary insurance didn't pay), so I mailed a money order for the big $8.00. I recently moved back to the area & my daughter gets an inner ear infection, so I called to set up an appointment with Dr Campbell since we were familiar with her. I called the office and was told that I couldn't set up an appointment due to an unpaid balance and that I had to speak with Angela in billing. I asked if I could at least just schedule the appointment to secure a visit to the since my daughters ear is hurting her, but was told that I could not even set the appointment until I spoke to with Angela and she could let me know if I could schedule an appointment and my daughter could see Dr. Campbell. I called Angela immediately, but she was gone for the day since it was 4:20 and she leaves at 4:00 p.m. Called back on Monday and was told that my account was sent to collections, attorney fees were added and then the account was charged off. So apparently my money order was "lost" somehow and my daughter was not allowed to be a patient of Dr. Campbell again. Since I moved (due to divorce), I did not receive any notification stating there was still an outstanding balance or I would of gladly checked into the money order being cashed or had another one issued. I did not receive a phone call either, so I had no idea what had happened. I'm curious if the Doctors at Associated Pediatrics are aware that if a patient has an unpaid balance of $8.00 and children that they have seen prior are no longer welcome as a patient. My daughter has been to her new pediatrician 7 times in the past year due to her starting Kindergarten and being exposed to all kinds of new germs. I still have two insurances that pay well, so not only my child they lost money over, but the two other single mothers I told about this incident to changed pediatricians also as they were concerned that could happen to them and they did not want to be stuck without a doctor for their daughters. I used to be medical biller previously and if a situation such as this came up, we would simply keep the invoice in office or write it off with any balance that was for such a small about. It was more costly to send it to an attorney so they could add fees over an $8.00 balance! We are talking $8.00, which I'm not understanding why I even have a balance when my daughter has 2 insurances. I have never heard of such ridiculous circumstances in my life! Sad to say, but if a Dr.'s office refuses to see a sick child over an $8.00 unpaid balance from 3 years prior , I'm not sure I want to even take my child back anyway. Again, Dr. Campbell was fantastic; however, even if a doctor is perfect, if they don't have a good office staff or billing, it's not worth the headache as the office is who patients usually have to deal with when something is needed... I was told that this also went on my credit report, and that I could not even bring in another payment. Not the best office procedure I'm thinking... That $8.00 just cost them a whole lot more income!

Our three children were just dropped from this practice and had our upcoming appointment canceled…read morefor failure to pay a $1200 annual fee to continue seeing Dr. Dimitroff. This comes after paying a $400 fee last year. The fee has increased dramatically, and this is in addition to the payments they receive from our insurance. They quickly went from a wonderful practice and experience to what feels like a money grab operation. We started with Dr. Dimitroff when his practice was brand new and before he was even in his current location. Our initial experience couldn't have been better. For probably the first time since becoming a mother, a pediatrician seemed to actually care about my children and their well-being. The community seemed to agree and word of mouth quickly spread. They grew rapidly! Then the letters started coming. First they were going to become a concierge practice with a very hefty monthly fee. When the response to that wasn't a positive one, they backtracked and said they would continue accepting insurance, with the additional annual fee. Now that fee has tripled in just one year. Can we pay it? If we budgeted and planned for it, yes we could make it work, but we are a single income household and I can't help but wonder how much next year's letter would ask for. The communication from this office, if I'm being honest, is a bit off-putting. They make their letters sound as if they are going out to everyone, then we come to find out they are sending different messages to different families, and they actually get frustrated when families talk to each other or share their communication on social media....the same people who helped grow their business to what it is today! If they no longer wanted to accept our insurance plan, I would have much rather them have just said that than all of the above, but maybe that is just me. In summary, he's a great doctor with some very questionable financial policies in place, and at the end of the day we felt like just another source of payment for them.
