Jim Katen and AMI was highly recommended after I called another inspector who wasn't licensed in Washington State. I had a situation that required an independent opinion and was thankful that he was willing to visit the site of my residential construction just three-days later. AMI emailed me a contract with a quote and I sent in a check which I later found out that I didn't have to do. Both my wife and I met Jim that following Thursday and he put our concerns to rest. We left him alone for a few hours and he managed to find three issues that my builder missed just days prior to getting my sheetrock installed. At no point during the inspection process did we ever feel like he rushed. After the inspection we spent about an hour or so just talking about my home and he really cared about educating us and addressing all of our issues and concerns involving our new home. I received a report via email with photographs and documentation which I submitted to my builders to correct. He also told me he would tear up the check I sent in earlier that week and resubmit a revised invoice which came in at $130.00 less than what I was originally quoted. I don't know what I can say but to write a review to say thank you! If you ever buy a house or have a new home constructed it would be foolish not to invest a few bucks and have it looked at by a second set of eyes.
