Extremely unprofessional. I texted the guard last night to have my neighbors turn down their tv noise. He texts back saying he was on his way. Then proceeds to ring my doorbell numerous times. Seriously? Then I call about 15 minutes later saying did you ring my doorbell? He then tells me yes the neighbors TV wasn't that loud, but they are turning it off. SO let me get this straight. Instead of texting me back or even calling he thought he would show up at my door and ring the bell to follow up. Zero judgment. Inappropriate behavior. No training. Shame on the owner who would hire someone like this. If he has poor judgement on this then safe to assume the same goes for everything else. I told him not to show up like that, but a text would have worked. Also, if it's blasting in my house then it is loud. Train your people. read more

The Facts: -Extremely unprofessional and low-class operation. -Most of the review are fake or forced. If you look at the names and profiles they happened to be mostly friends and family, -No real office. If you google the address its an apartment bldg in woodland hills. The whole operation is a one "woman-show", she has an answering service that takes your information and passes it on to a "work at home" receptionist. -She has a Roll-O-Deck of out of work security guards that they call based on time and location. -If you need help beyond that the owner will call you on her cellphone while grocery shopping or driving! -Obviously the company makes money by getting long term contracts, which is absolutely fine, But trying to screw people over on a one-time event is not!! The Bad: I called to get a quote for a 1.5 hour event. Christina "The stay at home receptionist" called me back and quoted me $45/hour for the same service that their competitors charge $28-35. She also insisted that they HAVE to charge me for 6 hours. Thats $270 for $50 worth of service. I asked if we can pay for 4 hours given that we only need the guard for 1.5 hours. Her attitude changed immediately after that . She said the owner can make an exception and gave me the owners phone number. The Ugly: I called the owner "Maryam", I explained the situation and asked if she is willing to work with us. To my surprise she tells me that I was quoted wrong and I have to pay $65/hour for 8 HOURS, which is $520 (still for $50 worth of service). When I questioned her business ethics and how she should at least honor the previously quoted price, she goes on a very unprofessional rant and tells me that she will "BLOW UP MY PHONE NUMBER" all over the internet. I dont know what that means, but it sure feels like a threat!! The Conclusion: I understand she pays YELP for advertising and I know she will call her Yelp rep and try to come up with a "fake reason" to remove this review but If anyone at Yelp reads this, Please know this is 100% real review, and everything happened exactly how I described it, PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING! If you are looking for a security company, do yourself a favor and find a reputable/professional company. AFTER ALL WE ARE TALKING ABOUT YOUR SECURITY, SO YOU SHOULDN'T TRUST JUST ANYONE!! This company has to be the best and most accommodating in my opinion. I had a music video shoot in a an area I am not familiar with. Christina sent me out the most professional team who protected and treated us like were a celebrity group already. The guards had nothing on the agenda but our full and complete protection. Not to mention Christina was able to accommodate me 24 hours before my actual shoot because the prior team I booked from another company over 3 weeks prior canceled on me last minute. Holy smokes. I'm a part of an HOA and we've had some trouble with a resident lately. I honestly never thought i would need a security company's services but I'm so happy i ca lees and spoke to Maryam. When i first called them i was not even sure they could help. We have a commercial building that is in front of apartment buildings. Over the years with the growing homeless issues growing we have encounter a few unfortunate incidents. We have had people come into the building (even though it's locked) to sleep, use the bathrooms, & do drugs. The parking lots also has signs that do not allow overnight parking & is a private lot for our buildings use only but those signs are usually ignored. These are just a few of the issues despite having cameras. Maryam was very attentive & listened to my concerns. She's made suggestions & explained in detail what & how the patrol would be done. I am the president of my HOA. We are a community of several hundred single family residents located in the Western San Fernando Valley. Our HOA has had a private security patrol company for many years now, and recently we had two different negative experiences with other security patrol providers. I hesitate to call them competitors to Assertive, which is why I deliberately refer to these 2 prior experiences as coming from 'providers', due to the vast difference in on-site officer quality and performance, and the way in which the owner of the company (Maryam) and her executive management team responds to questions, concerns and requests. She provides a much higher level of customer service and attentiveness to each and every single one of our residents. When starting with a new company, there is a learning curve and growth as the company and its officer become increasingly familiar with the community and it's idiosyncrasies, and some officers will be a better fit for some communities than others. Maryam and her team continue working with their officers and with the HOA board to ensure all officers are well trained and equipped, and that they are a good fit for the community. The officers on site are professional, respectful and responsive to the needs of the community overall, and to some individual residents and geographical considerations as well. It was difficult to get a confirmation from them or to even get in contact with them. That should have been my first clue. On top of that, the job they did was terrible. Three guards showed up and I told them that they should split up and oversee different areas of the house. Instead, they all stayed in the same spot the entire night. Our company just got a call from one of their employees (M. Knight) asking for our property manager and stating he was returning her call. When I asked her she looked confused and said I have no idea who that is so I'm not available. When I got back to the call and let the rep know, she was not available, would he like to leave his information...He got waaay to assertive lol (relax robocop!) and asked if she was there. So I had to get stern and repeat myself to him. You could tell Mr. Knight must have gotten frustrated he didn't get his way and said no. Here's the problem...they must be great at what they do, but so am I! Do not cold call under the pretense of I'm returning their call when it isn't true! We were needing a security for my daughter's 18th birthday and Maryam made our transaction so easy. The venue we have rented needed some required documents from the security group and again Maryam responded so promptly, in a matter of minutes everything was done..
