Wonderful studio! All of the staff was super friendly. Comfortable tattooing room and VERY CLEAN. They're connected to the tavern next door and share a restroom with them, also very clean. Good lighting everywhere, which is important in a place where they're going to permanently scar your body! Sara was my artist and she did a wonderful job with my piece. we were greeting into the shop by eliza who from the start seemed less than excited to see us (we did call in advance) after showing her reference photos and asking for a rough estimate on her pricing she rudely told us that she doesn't know until it's drawn which would have been a fine response had she said it kindly. while waiting on her to draw up the deign me and a friend waiting in the waiting room. while we were waiting and having casual conversation, eliza stomped back up to the front and told us to he quiet as people are working. mind you we were being nothing but respectful and were not loud by any means. we divided enough was enough with her attitude and chose to leave the shop. had she respectfully asked us to be quiet we would totally understand however her approach was nothing but rude and uncalled for. not sure i trust her tattoo skill after seeing her lack of people skills read more

This is my first time every getting a tattoo! What I can tell you is that the experience that I had was the best!!! I been wanting a tattoo for about a few years ago and I backed out. Now that I finally decided to get one. It was hard to find a great artist whose communication is great as Rich. I reached out to other artists and their means of communication was not the best. When I reached out to Rich from my best friends whom received tattoos by him, he instantly responded to me. We talked about Koi fish tattoos and came up with a game plan. When he drew his sketch up to me, it blew my mind. It was what I visualized, but to a whole new level. Took what I wanted and well exceeded my expectation. Don't get me wrong, I was so nervous getting my tattoo because of how the pain and how it will turn out. Rich made me feel comfortable through the whole process from beginning to end. I would like to start this by saying, my spouse got an awful tattoo at Empire Ink. I wrote a detailed review of what we went through and the BS of the artist we had. This is a review of how Assassin Tattoo shop literally saved the piece my spouse wanted fixed. After what we had expected to be a great tattoo from Empire Ink, which turned out to be awful after it healed, we desperately wanted it fixed - elsewhere. We went in person to Assassins and spoke with all the artists. They each looked over the healed piece my spouse had, each sharing out loud what they felt could be improved upon. The owner himself, Rich, felt he could take on the special task of fixing this piece entirely. He asked my spouse for what he had originally wanted done and then told him what could be accomplished. He did not make any false promises - he was open with what could be fixed and what couldn't. He worked with my spouse to come up with what we hoped for it to look like when finished. He showed us images he would reference and how and where he'd fix or define areas. This shop is very clean, friendly staff and artists and no question is off limits. They are up front and honest with cost, what they can accomplish with a piece and time spent to finish it. They draw up custom designs and are very professional. They also consult with each other when a person comes in with a request. So no one is in the dark over a client with an appointment, what the work is to be done and location on the body. I would share images of my spouses finished piece but won't. The reason being: Rich said that due to the special nature of this request (it was done by another local shop & artist, and done poorly and we wanted it fixed) he wouldn't add it to his personal portfolio. We agreed that was perfectly fine, just please make this thing better! He did - he blew it out of the park. He spent over 3 hours working on the piece and truly, the man loves his job and his creations. When finished he applied a special clear cover, it looks like a clear band aid, but it allows the tattoo to heal without scabbing over. We can return to have it replaced it is begins to come off before a week (he said 1 week with it on helps healing and maintain the color). That along with an after care salve was all included in the cost of the tattoo. If you are seeking even the smallest piece of work, consider this shop. Go in person, bring some images to reference, share what you want to have done. I felt perfectly comfortable in this shop, no one made me feel uncomfortable. They like what they do and they work hard on their art. read more

I'm going to go with middle of the road review because I was really IMPRESSED with the guy I spoke to when I initially stopped in. He was knowledgeable and helped me hone in on what I was looking to do. He suggested an artist and I booked a consult. On the day of the consult I arrived and found out she was at another location and because of time constraints I couldn't drive to the alternate location. If I'd known I would have arrived at the alternate location initially but I got no call to let me know. I was really bummed. Had my first local tattoo done here. Only had them done in nyc and Az previously. But started following them on Instagram and had to check them out! Eliza did my tattoo (which was an addition to a previous small wrist piece) and she killed it! She was so nice and talented. My boyfriend also had an all day sleeve/coverup that day. And while sitting in a tattoo shop all day could be boring, the staff was hilarious (make sure you have a very "open" sense of humor, haha) and all so friendly. Felt like a family party. While visiting family members in the area, we decided to stop procrastinating and get the tattoos we had been contemplating. We explored various options locally and decided to go with Assassins. We decided to swing by the day before we wanted to come in to consult the artist and check out the place. Great first impression. Shaun took the time to consult with us and listen to our ideas and was happy to contribute his own artistic flare. They were able to get us in the next day, four of us, all together, but warned that there are busy seasons when this wouldn't be an option on short notice. This was my second tattoo, but the first for the family members I was visiting, and Shaun was great, I thought, in making us feel at ease. I am very pleased with the way my tattoo, from design, to the time it took, to after care instructions, to healing and final appearance. It looks and feels great just under two weeks later. I absolutely would, and hope to visit again. I have more ideas formulating and I trust it would be another great experience to visit Assassins again. We were in the shop waiting for several hours on each other to finish between the four of us and staff made sure we were comfortable and didn't have any questions. Not like the tattoo parlors of yesteryear and that was a relief. I used to feel my life was in danger but definitely not here. Yes, there were skulls, snakes, and a little t&a but it was all good. My last ink was almost twenty years ago. Lots has changed. Much more sanitary and extremely helpful. I recommend them for newbies or experienced inkers. And, thanks Shaun. Told the artist I had $500 for a cover up. Went to first session paid $500. Came back to finish and was told it would be $450? WHAT!?!? Now I got a giant black blob outline that you can still see the old tattoo behind. I have bad vibes and given the nature of the product at hand I can not return, as I feel "bait and switched". This may be an isolated case or miss communication but it was a total buzz kill. read more
