It's a nice looking restaurant but the tiny food portions and boil in the bag quality food means it's a place to avoid for anyone who knows what good food is (I suspect that some people can't tell the difference and so they believe the Assam is great). Tale of spice is another good restaurant and way above the Assam in quality. Not as good as the Mogul but certainly still worthy. Prices are good at the mogul considering you get MORE for your money. Portions are bigger generally. If you like tiny portions then go to the Assam instead. Dress code is casual/scruffy/homeless bum/chav. The mogul does not discriminate.

It's very small inside, and the restaurant filled up, but it didn't get crowded. I'm also really happy that they didn't "western-ise" their dishes; everything we ate was so full of flavour. The restaurant itself is a bit out-dated, but the people are lovely and the menu is extensive. Especially recommend the specialities and balti dishes. The other thing is it is not licenced so you can take great wine or beer and pay supermarket prices.
