We've been taking our kids here since they were born (over 2 years now). The staff is always super friendly and helpful. All of the doctors we have met have been attentive and caring, but Dr. Colletti is our favorite. They have a pediatrician on call for questions outside of office hours and triage nurses during regular business hours as well. The doctors have been so helpful in making sure we have formula during the current shortage. They truly are helping to support the community!

Great! Squeezed us in on a cancelation. This was the last pediatric appointment. Thank you for the 18 years of high quality care.

We had a very concerning experience with Carolyn while scheduling a pediatric appointment for our…read moredaughter. During a phone call to verify insurance, the staff member began asking questions about our family structure that were irrelevant and inappropriate. My partner and I are a same-sex couple and our daughter was conceived through IVF. Despite explaining this, the staff member repeatedly asked who the "biological mom" was, referred to one of us as a "step mom," and asked where the "biological dad" was. Our daughter has two mothers. There is no father involved. She is insured through one of her mothers' employer-sponsored health plan, which should have been the only information needed to confirm coverage. Instead of simply verifying insurance, the conversation turned into questioning the legitimacy of our family. This was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and frankly unacceptable in a pediatric healthcare setting. Families come in many forms, and medical offices should be equipped to interact respectfully with all of them. At minimum, staff should understand that children can have two mothers and that insurance verification does not require probing questions about a "biological father." I hope the practice leadership reviews this interaction and provides staff with better training so that other families--especially LGBTQ+ parents--do not have the same experience when trying to access care for their child.

So I waited until the last month to get recommendations from friends and make the appointment to go in. She was recommended by 2 people I knew from her previous practice. Little did I know I would be induced 2 weeks early. Luckily Dr Frazee took us in at the last minute notice she had, and came to the hospital for the circumcising. We have never been disappointed since. Many doctors have a nurse call you back and never actually take the time to make calls themselves. Dr Frazee always returns phone calls when you have questions and generally she calls back within a very short period of time. There is never a long wait at her office. The office itself is clean and her staff is friendly. When we had a bad rash early on, she got us in for an appointment quickly and got it taken care of. But the most impressive thing to date is her schooling a lab clerk over the phone on how to find a record in the system. We went to get labs done on our newborn for jaundice and the person checking us in at the lab was not only a bit rude, she had no interest in helping us because she stated there were no records submitted for us to be there. I called Dr Frazee's office to let them know we could not get into the lab. Next thing you know, Dr Frazee gets on the phone and tells the check in person where the records are at on the computer! The attention to detail and personal care is not something you get with many health care professionals these days, so Dr Frazee's team is a breath of fresh air in a world where you can barely call anyone without getting an automated service. She is very personable at the visits and we will keep seeing Dr Frazee as long as we live here. We would recommend her to any friends we know who are looking for a pediatrician.

The first…read morething that stood out to me about Reno Pediatricians was their very clear non-discrimination policy listed right on their website. They were the only office in town with that. Then, we set up a a prenatal consultation with Dr. Riar and immediately knew she was the doctor for us! She was as knowledgeable about pediatrics as she was personable. She is also very supportive of a parents rights to choose what's best for their child. They do require you to follow the CDC vaccine schedule, but everything else is whatever you think is best for your baby. She was supportive of our home birth plan and was okay with us bringing the baby ASAP after birth. But we transitioned to the hospital for birth and she was supportive of that too. She visited our baby every day we were at Renown. Unfortunately they just moved locations and the new office isn't as conveniently located. But that's okay, this provider is worth the extra parking steps!

*United Healthcare accepted here*…read more My rating is based on Dr. Riar; not the interior, not the front office staff, but again, Dr. Riar. I recently registered my children with Dr. Riar here at Reno Pediatrics, and I couldn't have found a more fitting doctor. She asked various questions to learn about my daughters development, habits, diet, etc, which I loved. She's not an "in and out" kind of doc and to parents everywhere, that matters. When I say she's fitting, this is because she's very firm and straight-forward. She tells you what needs to be done to better the health of your children without running around the bush, whilst reflecting on her own experiences as a mother. Now... everything else. Environment: When you walk in, the environment is kind of cold. Other pediatric offices are colorful, inviting for children, providing games, books, or toys, but not this one. Which, really isn't a bad thing. You can either go to a pediatrician who has all the fluff going on but doesn't care, or you can go to a regular-shmegular looking doctor office like this one, and actually get a doc who doesn't rush your appointment and gets to know your kid. Front office staff: The front staff could be a little livelier, you know? A little smile wouldn't hurt, lol. Again, is it a big deal? No. Wait time: What wait? lol. We went right in! Just how mama likes it! Location: Behind Renown, between Mill and E 2nd (I think).

They said that they except Medicaid but not cash pay and I asked him the reasoning and the woman said, " it has to do with continuity of care. If we order labs we wanna make sure that you're able to afford the labs or specialty testing." I explained to her how I can afford the medical care my daughter need as I get a stipend through my job. She said, "well we can't assume that all cash pay patients can afford it." I told her that they are assuming that all cash patients patients can't afford it which is not very fair at all. Cash pay patients Pay better than Medicaid patients sometimes. This was disheartening and frustrating. As I'm calling around I often find facilities they don't except Medicaid, but this is the only facility that does not accept cash pay patience. I think that it's awful that they assume that I cannot afford care for my daughter. They are putting an additional barrier on our medical care and it's hard enough as it is not being offered health insurance through my job. I'm sure The doctors are so amazing and have no idea that this is even going on.

I agree with Karen that the office (Sierra Pediatrics) is really efficient, and I have never encountered any problems with getting appointments, having to wait, or billing issues. My only complaint is that I get sick of the "handouts." As an educated person, I feel better when given a thorough explanation of something than when given an over-simplified one-page handout to read. I realize this saves time for the staff, but it frustrates me. That is why I have dropped one star, but overall I think that Sierra Pediatrics is a great place to take your kids.
