From the first day I have been ripped off. I was told I needed a crown on a tooth that wasn't even bothering me and they told me it would be $3,000 out of pocket with insurance. Then they gave me a "goody" bag with an electric toothbrush, water pic, floss, toothpaste and accessories. I thought wow this is pretty nice. I figured since I was a new patient and all, but no. I had done research and had high hopes for the Washington Aspen Dental but wish I hadn't make the mistake of going there for my new set. The extractions were extremely painful to start. it was horrible, I was in pain throughout that entire process. Then the dentures themselves. I look like I'm wearing cheap denture. Even though I paid extra to get one of their better packages. It's horrible. I don't look like myself anymore. It's so bad I don't smile at all and I try to avoid people speaking to me at all cost. My sister went here and got a crown it was 1800$ but they work out payments and since I need alot of dental work I thought I'll give it a try. Unfortunately her crown fell out within a short time of placement and when she called for emergency visit it was short hours because of holiday weekend. They didn't care she was in pain ,they offered a "sorry " and an antibiotic and an appointment 3 days out! If this is the kind of service offered I think I'll pass. The work seems shoddy at best since my sister needed to go back twice since the crown wasn't correctly fitted in the first place. I'm sure simple things would be fine here ( it seems like a get them in get them out deal) but it you need substantial work I'd try a real dental office that will work with you financially not treat you as just a number. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. DON'T get MOTTO liners at WASHINGTON, MO location! This location is not accountable at all & won't stand behind the treatment you pay for. if considering liners, please read till the end to make informed decisions. I often had appt that led nowhere. The staff's disorganization is almost scary- you sit down they call you by the wrong name, once they said so you're hear for an extraction-?!? Worst of all, after all that money & time when I finished the aligners, I can't get a final retainer. I'll explain, each tray is supposed to be worn for 1 week but the material is cheap so they break or crack very easily. If you do break one, they won't replace it, they just want.you to skip it which may account for the reason that you get to the end & you're teeth still aren't straight. I just scheduled my last appt. It took weeks to get it. I get there & they removed the hardware glued to my teeth that helps the aligners pull your teeth (called buttons). The dentist asked ME to hold the suction while she ground them off. The whole time water is shooting all over my face up to my eyes & down my neck. I was so wet it was actually comical. I could smell burning & prayed my enamel would be intact when she finished. After they were to scan my teeth for my final retainer. Only the scanner won't work, so I sit for over 2 hours only to be told sorry, go home. they will call when it's repaired, So here I am, I have finished treatment, I have no retainers to hold my teeth in place & was told to wear my last tray (at night only) but It no longer fits correctly, in fact it's now loose, because the buttons have been removed. after only a couple of hours out makes it tight to put back in so I know that leaving it off all day isn't a good solution. So I'm done- have no retainers & am left with no real way to ensure my teeth will stay in place long enough to get scanned & get my retainer & from past experience scan to retainer time is weeks. To top it off, there is no timeline on when the scanner will be fixed. days later, they haven't even set up a time to have it looked at. Hope it won't need parts. Of course there is no back up scanner. meanwhile I am wearing a tray that doesn't fit & having it out for even a couple of hours makes it difficult to put back on & without the hardware on my teeth to hold it in place, the retainer doesn't correct the subtle shifts that are taking place nearly hourly. I anticipate the retainer will break soon & can tell it is getting more fragile. I am going on nearly 3 weeks of wearing it. I asked what I should do if it broke, was told I should go backwards and use a previous tray. Which is ridiculous considering I am waiting for my FINAL scan & that would be going backwards in treatment & when/if they do get this equipment fixed & I do actually get scanned, it would be 2 trays before finished. & it's not like I have more treatment needed that would rectify this backward shift, I'm done & I am just waiting to be scanned for my final retainers, which I can't do.. So what if my teeth shift I ask? They had no answer to this question & didn't seem like they were really that concerned about it anyway. The fact that they don't care or have any plan in place in case my teeth do shift is the most frustrating part of all. So here I am after paying thousands hoping for straight teeth and it looks like I will have to settle for who knows what, depending on how much my teeth shift before they get the scanner fixed, get me in, scan me, send off the results, have the retainers made, get me back in and give them to me. Every day I have to wait, my teeth shift and my $ was wasted. So beware, they don't really care about you or if your satisfied. They aren't going to help you if you need something & you're going to be pretty much on your own with no way to make them accountable. Bottom line: they won't stand behind the treatment you pay for go somewhere else! even a different aspen location would be better than this place. read more

Aspen Dental in Washington, Mo. was absolutely awful! I was not put to Sleep for my procedure. After My Procedure, I was given Ibuprofen! Really? Did You Not put me under, or give me meds because You are NOT licensed? So like others, I picked up my records and will have the rest done elsewhere So that I am a Valued Customer, Not just another number. Not to mention the Price for the rest of my Procedures Astronomical! They didn't even care enough to ask, " Why I was leaving, or What Could We have done better for you." I took both of my daughters to this location. When I called to schedule the appointment I told them both girls needed a cleaning and both thought they had a cavity. I requested only services that would be covered by our dental insurance (we have 2 dental plans). The day before the appointment I receive a call and was told that they would not get cleaning or treatment during the first visit. Had I known that in the beginning I would have went elsewhere. I have never had a dentist who would not at least do the cleaning during the initial appointment. At the appointment the staff informs me both girls have gingivitis and would need a special cleaning. Same question, is it covered by the insurance plans. I was told yes. Go out to check out ad schedule next visit for cleanings and 1 child needed a tooth pulled and the other needed a cavity filled. Estimate is over $400 after both plans. I ask again, are they being given treatments covered by our insurance. I was again told yes. Go in for the next visit and pay the bill but told they cannot give me an itemized receipt for my HSA until later in the day but would email it to me. After visit my daughter who had the tooth pulled says she told them numerous times she could feel everything after the numbing agent and they proceeded. Now she has pain in another tooth where they anchored the tool to pry o the broken one. Both girls complaining of pain from the cleaning. While sitting in the office I hear numerous conversations with patients and it seems EVERYONE has gingivitis and needs the "special cleaning". Several people complaining of being overcharged. When we got home I googled gingivitis. It is a pretty gnarly issue and I do not believe my children had it. Finally get the itemized receipts in my inbox and see that most of what they charged me IS NOT covered by insurance. No one told me there would be $132 in product (pastes, mouthwash, toothbrush, etc) given to them that I was paying out of pocket for. $136 in other fees that were not being submitted to either insurance plan. Then I see a column that shows I am due a refund of $104.20 and when I add everything up realize they did overcharge me form what the totals add up to on the bill. So I paid $407.80 total for both girls and really should have only paid $35.60 if they would have done as I told them and only performed services covered by the insurance. The day after I called the office and asked to speak with someone about the charges. I requested to return the unopened items for a refund since I was not given the option of purchasing them. I also asked about the $136 in charges that were not submitted to insurance. I was told that they would get the charges submitted and ask the hygienist about the product and call me right back. It's a good thing I didn't hold my breath becasue they never called. It has been 9 days since the last visit and we were due for part 2 of the cleaning today. I have cancelled the appointments because both girls are STILL in pain! I will find a dentist and hygienist that are concerned with actually caring for the patient and not just the money they can scam out of them. I will give them 15 more days for the dental claims to process and if I have not been issued a refund for the over-payment on the services I will be contacting the office. If I am still not refunded I will contact my insurance carriers and the BBB. I attempted to share this review on their website but received an error. I went here just to get a tooth pulled. I ask them the cost and they told me I payed everything up front. So agreed to have a deep cleaning of my teeth . They charged my insurance $ 1950.00 . I had to pay almost $750 out of pocket. Last year, I wanted to find a dentist closer to my home, and since Aspen was on my dental plan, I went there. After the xrays and exams, I was told I needed a deep cleaning and was sent to the front desk to schedule ... without a normal cleaning. After insurance, my out of pocket cost would have been over $900. I told them I was overwhelmed by the cost and needed to think about it before scheduling. Since I had always had good checkups in the past, I decided to wait and go back to my previous dentist for my next 6 month checkup. After a good checkup showing no issues, I commented "so I don't need a deep cleaning" and admitted I had went somewhere else where they told me I did. The hygenist asked if it was Aspen and told my my teeth were great and I did NOT need a deep cleaning. Since my old dentist was not conveniently located and not in-network, I just went to Dr. Clary in Washington who also confirmed my teeth were good and I was far from needing a deep cleaning. I've heard from several people that Aspen is known for recommending deep cleanings. I do NOT recomment Aspen. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and decided to go with Aspen Dental because they offered a free exam and X-rays. Everything was good and the staff was very friendly and got me in quick. I talked to the doctor after I got everything else done and we went over my treatment plan which sounded good. She told me she was going to prescribe me an antibiotic for my 2 infections in my mouth. I gave her the correct info for my pharmacy so there wouldn't be any problems. My dentist appointment was at 9am that day. I waited all day yo hear from the pharmacy that they had filled my prescription. I called them and found out that the doctor never even sent my prescription to my pharmacy. The receptionist said she would let the doctor know. Then I waited all day the next day and nothing. I called Aspen Dental again and they said the doctor sent my prescription. It was never sent once again. So I waited again for it to be filled only to find out that it was never sent! I called Aspen Dental upset and told them not to worry about it now. I'm done waiting for them to do their job and to help me. I'm not happy with how things went and will not be going back. read more

Great Dental Office as I needed service stat and Dr. Chandi was able to add us on her very busy schedule on a Saturday. The Office and Staff was very compassionate and caring. I just had to pay my co-pay and got the tooth extracted as i did not want to travel with an impacted tooth. My General Dentist who wanted me to wait 2 weeks cause he wanted Oral Surgeon to remove my tooth which i couldn't understand why, my friend recommended DR. Chandi as i drove about 1 hour to go see her and she was able to take out my tooth thus saving me lots of money cause oral surgeon would have been a whole lots more than just my co-pay. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Chandi for your Dental needs. read more

Very dissatisfied; I'm sorry I went there; I've always had relatively simple dental appointments; the only major problem I've had was a filling and a root canal. I didn't think it would be a big deal to use a chain dentist. We did fine until they got to my mouth; we were given many recommendations. I chose to start with the decay that was worst in a molar. There were also a couple of other fillings recommended. Three fillings in one day. After I was so sensitive. I couldn't even drink regular temp tap water without searing sensitivity. I called back the next day asking to get back in-- this was not normal. They couldn't see me til the following week. I asked Abbey the front desk gal to work me in because this was not normal. She could not. So I waited. I should not have waited. He adjusted my bite and said to let it calm down for two weeks. I said ok; the extreme sensitivity did not calm down and the pain was still there, so I called Dr. Mace in Washington to review. This was now two weeks after the original work. There's a hole in one filling (he took pics in my mouth and showed me) and the other fillings looked chipped and one was not tight--food was catching like crazy. He questioned if the filling on the main molar was going to be ok because it was so poor. Dr Mace also reviewed the proposed treatment plan: a proposed crown replacement was not necessary! I felt so naive and sheepish! Because I had experienced good dentistry in my history, I just figured that it would be fine. I could save money on the cleanings. But the fillings were no more expensive than Dr Mace to fix the work done by the dentist at Aspen. After this experience, I read reviews online and realized this company has many complaints. I didn't do a lot of homework. I just was new in the area and wanted to get back on track with cleanings because we had gotten off our dental hygiene schedule with our move and getting settled... And yep, it was not a good choice. I do not recommend them at all. Update: because the previous work was so poor and by the time I got into a spot in Dr Mace's office, I ended up with root canal; I had to be on penicillin and prescription strength Tylenol just to bear the pain until the appointment with Dr Mace. I cannot believe this Dr Lowe did not listen to me when I said the pain I was experiencing was not normal. His work brought me more pain than I actually had before going to this office. I plan on continuing to tell everyone I know about the problems I encountered. read more

Had a couple cleanings and a wisdom tooth extracted that had shown some decay. I was of course not looking forward to having it pulled but Dr. Lowe did a great job, didn't feel a thing and he got it out no problem. If there were a way to give this business a negative star, there would be five of them. This incident is regarding my 6 year old daughter, new to dentistry. I call to schedule an appointment because she had a previous filling fall out of an upper back molar and now more of the tooth has broken off. I told the receptionist that she would most likely need to have antibiotic before having the work done. She assured me not, and scheduled her appointment and assured me her issues would be fixed in office that day. I work a full-time job, in Washington, MO and live in Sullivan so had to take the day off otherwise I would be driving back and forth all day to get back to work. So, I take the day off for this appointment. After evaluation from the dentist, that mind you was saturated with the smell of cigarette smoke, he said that tooth in question could be saved and he would do a pulpotomy and crown it, and she had 3 other cavities. Then he handed me a prescription and told us to come back in a week after she had antibiotics. Wait... what? So I DID have to have antibiotics for my daughter, and NO her work was NOT completed that day. I left irritated, but ya know it happens. So, we come back ready to get her teeth fixed. The Dr did the pulpotomy and placed a filling in it and fixed a cavity. Then told me she would have to come back for the other cavities another day and then another visit for the crown to be placed. Wait... what? They were not doing it all that day? ERRRR. Yet 2 MORE days I have to take off work for this. A week later we are at home eating lunch and her filling (where they will place the crown) fell out, the entire filling, GONE. I call, I take another day off work, for them to fix the filling. They fix it. Then go in for the crown appointment, take another day off work, (different dentist this time) which I will add was NOT getting along with the DA AT ALL, they give her the shot, waiting for her to numb and the dr asks for the crown from the dental assistant. She hands him the crown and he says NO, I need the permanent crown, she snarks back "Well this is ALL we have" then began complaining about having to order more crowns because the tray of them are sooooo expensive. SO needless to say my daughter was not able to get her crown that day. SO she was given a shot for NOTHING!!!!! i WAS hot. I told them they were going to at least fix the other cavities since we were there, which meant another shot in the other side of her mouth. OK, I am beyond livid with this place by this point. Mind you I prepaid for all of her dental work...... The DA said she would PERSONALLY order the crown for my daughter and they would call when it came in. OK so 2 weeks go by and I get a call, and schedule an appointment, another day off work, to go in. We are sitting in the waiting room and her filling on the bottom where they fixed just falls out! REALLY???? So we go back, (yet another different dentist). We are sitting there and he is going through the supplies he will need and realizes the crown that was ordered was too small......... thankfully realizing this BEFORE sticking the needle in my daughters gums! ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW???????? She could not get her crown that day either. However, this dentist was very good, I liked him. He fixed the filling that fell out moments before and you guessed it, we had to wait for a crown to come in that was the right size. I am soo heated at this point, the receptionist refunds the amount I had paid for the crown itself. 3 weeks go by, I have not heard anything from the office so I call, was told the manager would call me back shortly. I never received a call in a week and a half till I called again. Guess why I called this time though.... you will never guess it. My daughters filling in the pulpotomy tooth in question awaiting the crown, fell partially out! YEP! AGAIN. So, on July 20th, 2017 I call and first ask about the crown, which apparently no one in the office knew anything about. I was told the manager would call me back shortly. I said are you sure that is what I was told 1 1/2 weeks ago when I called. Then I told her that my daughters filling had fallen out again, and was pushing my irritation pretty hard at this point. THEN, the manager seemed to be available. they "all of the sudden" DID have the crown for my daughter. The manager got on the phone and asked when I could bring her in, I said I WILL not loose another day of work over this. She then scheduled her for Saturday July 22nd, 2017 for 9:30am to have filling fixed and crown. She said at that point we can sit down and "discuss" the filling issues. On July 21st, 2017 I get a phone call from Aspen Dental saying that my appointment for Saturday is cancelled and I need to reschedule because apparently the manager scheduled the appointment for a day there wasn't any dentist in the office!!!!! This receptionist said I would be getting a refund of the fillings I paid for now as well. She is now resheduled. read more
